In June 2017, The Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) aired a concert called “Galaxymphony” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra /DR SymfoniOrkestret, the two choirs Hymnia and Camarata with various soloists conducted by Anthony Hermus.
The concert was hosted by legendary TV host Jakob Stegelmann and featured music from a variety of sci-fi movies including Star Wars.

    When I was younger I used to think “It’s a shame we can never hear this song outside of the Star Wars movie because we don’t have the instruments invented yet to play the song” it wasn’t till I was like 10, But I remembered it was a movie and Real instruments had to be used to make it in the first place

    The audience is clapping *on* the beat, which is wrong for this style of music. It would be fine for a march, though. The orchestra musicians are correctly snapping their fingers on the offbeats, or backbeats.

    It is probably also that the audience is clapping correctly but the recording is not set up for that so it lags.

    The only completely non-serious and even silly piece of music in the whole trilogy. Deliberately placed, as within the next few minutes we see what a light saber and a blaster can really do.

    it's probably because the capture microphones are too out-of-place to properly capture their beat. It happens all the time in large theaters and arenas.

    Robert 22 Exactly, a clap does the job of a snare. So it’s like hitting the snare every beat or hitting the snare beats 1 and 3

    speeddemon847 It's more likely due to the speed of sound. If you've ever been to a baseball game you'll see the bat hit the ball first, then sometime later you'll hear the sound. Same thing happens in concert venues. In situations where the audience is super engaged and raises their hands to the beat, you can even see the sound waves make their way to the back of the stadium. Look up Queen at Live Aid and you can see that sound wave in action!

    According to wikipedia, the original one is arranged for 9 players: trumpet, 3 saxophones, clarinet, Fender Rhodes Piano, percussion, steel drums and synth.

    Considering the day I had, I stumbled across the Danish National Symphony. I went through Imperial March, the Main theme and Duel of the Fates. I was hesitant to look at the Cantina Band because I thought they couldn't do it justice, even though what I saw so far was brilliant. The Cantina Band was brilliant! Literally I shed a tear, a few tears, watching this. It was so fun. Just what I needed after today.

    Aaaaah, the freakin' audience is clapping wrong! The musicians even show them when to clap by snapping their fingers! It hurts so much to see good music tainted like that

    It's Amazing that this movie gave us 3 timeless songs... The main theme, The Imperial March, and The Cantina scene... you can identify the movie/series, from any one of those(and probably any of the ancillary numbers). This score was simply amazing!

    The Imperial March wasn't until Empire...have to nitpick a bit. Ben's Death/TIE Attack was another one that introduced theme that were used throughout the entire series as well.

    Me, a high schooler having played alto sax for 7 years and playing lead in both a concert and jazz band: SAX SHOULDNT BE A CONCERT INSTRUMENT, IT WAS NEVER RECOGNIZED AS ONE....and then I saw this, and and loved it
