It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better kzread.infoUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

Probably the most functional piece, aside from the spray booth, that I’ve ever seen with the Star Wars theme! And what a way to make a mistake part of the story telling process! You really made this build look awesome! Oh and the backstory was appreciated. It shows us that we can be human and still crank out a great project!

Looking pretty good! I have loved the Star Wars 'look' from the very start. I sat in the theater watching it with friends back in '77 and was blown away by the art even then. I went back by myself to watch that first movie six more times. Not so much for the story, but to soak up the feel, the aesthetics of the world that Lucas and his team of people had created. It was so different from all of the clean, chromium and silver lamé that sci-fi had fed us up till then. The world of Luke and Obi-Wan was a lived in world filled with stuff that was used and repaired (or not) and looked real. I would turn my house into such a place from another galaxy but my wife thinks it already looks like such a place from this one 🙄 .

I like the use of the "server rack" style pulls on the drawers, makes your electronics cabinet look more like a tech bench, keeps the pulls out of the way when you're leaning on the cabinet, and frames the drawers nicely!

Sometimes accidents like the orange peel turn into happy mistakes, you did GREAT job subtly weathering it to your advantage. I think its human nature to start to rush when a project starts coming together you get more anxious to see it complete. But as master Yoda would say " Do not give in to the dark side of chaos- stronger you be".

Brian, thanks so much for this build - with the decision- making along the way, and handling a setback, with frankness about how these things happen. I find it super helpful and an inspiration for tackling my own storage issues, in a way that's not only practical but highly creative. in my case, on a tight budget, repurposing and combining furniture and drawers I've salvaged 'in case they're useful some time'. Thank you!

Every video you make blows me away. I think your channel is the only star wars one that gives me that same magic feeling I get when I watch the movies and it really inspires me. Watching this channel has really inspired me to make a few star trek and star wars" functional art" into my computer chair, desk and surrounding wall where my pc and ps5 are, and stuff that I would love to share with you once it's done. This episode also marks the point where it's the first video I've seen having caught up. Since I wasn't here from the start and I decided to watch every single video from the start and man the content on this channel is like Aladdin's cave. Anyway sorry for the long ass post but just wanted to show my support. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Rambling? Nah; you're sharing! I found it valuable to hear what drove your decisions. I also learned I'm not alone in respect to some of what pulls you in different directions. I thought you were doing very well with weathering, and bringing in colors that don't occur intuitively is entering mastery. Level up! I was inspired by the addition of the non-mineral colors. Finally, you are right, your shop has been becoming a room build. Kind of like a visit to Adam's shop, I'd probably stare at a lot of items before getting to work.

Orange peel... The effect that you got is called aligatoring due to uncured paint underneath. Orange peel is the small lumps in the surface, just like an orange. Allow the surface to dry a little longer between coats. It did turn out fantastic.

The build is awesome as usual. The details are spot on. I struggle with adding extra things in as well. Schedules, while great for channels and KZread analytics, aren't the greatest and most inspiring for the creative minded. We need the spontaneity sometimes. Being able to envision something and just go with it are important to keep from getting burned out. To keep us from feeling like our creative passions are no more than just another job. Gotta keep that balance. Great build!

Oh oh! One thing I saw that you could do to add more storage is that I saw that some of your drawers are deep, but are filled shallow. You could make a drawer within a drawer to maximize the space that is unused. Just some thing to think about if you need more room. Anyway, cabinet guy going nuts lol

If you have LED's in small zip lock bags just punch a hole towards the top center and make a peg to slide the bags on, much like you see bags hanging in a computer store or hardware wall. That way you can still see the items in the bag.

I know a very talented guitar luthier in GB that is trying to build guitars in one day for the umpteenth time, but needs a few weeks in the end to finish a build. I think it's a common problem of every creative person to run into time schedule issues. It's the same thing for me. I really dig the look of your cabinet! If you're going to enhance the storage solution in some time, I can suggest you a solution your fellow colleague Alexandre Chappel has created. A grit for the drawer and fitting small part containers in various sizes for this grit. Everything as 3D-printed parts.

I like it. I have a toolbox I bought a couple of years ago that I've been thinking of dressing up, and I think that you just provided the inspiration! By the way, foamcore is great for draw liners, flexible, easy and cheap to change. Alternatively, so is EVA foam, which I've used successfully to convert a couple of carry cases.
