Star Wars Beer Fridge
Ойын-сауық
The story of this prop is... A Coaxium containment unit which I am using as a beverage cooler in my shop. I got it at a Rebel Military Surplus sale. I think it's seen some action. More pics can be seen here:

Dang Rob, this looks so great! lOVE the way this turned out! Fantastic!!! Thanks for letting us tag along! By the way, that Paint Metal Paint chip effect you are doing here has rocked my brain!!! I will never uniformly chip my metal the same way again!!!!

You two are my references, there is here an authentic taste of SW 😍
Absolutely fantastic! I gotta make one! Small tip-Ben Nye makes fake dirt, ash, dust for make-up effects if you don't want to use real dirt. Damn this is sooo cool!
Absolutely love the nods to the original trilogy and Solo film. Fantastic job integrating iconic Star Wars imagery while making a unique design to fit the fandom! Two thumbs up!
I like this one the most out of the 3. The weathering is so convincing. The two toned undercoat and toothpaste trick really makes it look in universe!
Brilliant idea on the toothpaste!!!
All you need is a protocol droid to serve you.
This is great Rob. Your toothpaste technique is perfect, so often people completely overdo it with no applied method or strategy. I think this may be only the second video where someone was applying toothpaste to their prop and I wasn't sitting here screaming at the computer "STOP STOP TOO MUCH!!"
WOW!! Awesome job Rob!
You will probably beat me to it, but I have always loved the lore of the Star Wars ice cream maker in cloud city. Having it legitimized in the Mandalorian show was even better. I decided I would make a Star Wars ice cream maker and have it be my storage chest for all of my light saber parts and elements. Maybe that could be your next challenge

Thanks. It certainly has function options
Just bought our first house and we inherited an additional fridge in the garage. I was planning on making it my "shop fridge" and now I know EXACTLY what to do with it! Star Wars it up! :)
this came out top notch
Enjoying this challenge. I'm a Smugglers Room subscriber and will now be subscribing and watching your channel as well. Love this.
Awesome. that mix of metallics really sells the paint chipping
Happy Canada day 🎂 Awesome build. Appreciate the behind-the-scenes WIP. Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
I'm late to your party but I'll sub just because of your work. Amazing mwah 👌
I love it, Rob!
Can see that in a bar on Tattooine or Jabba's sail barge 👍😎
Awesome work.
Fantastic job on that fridge Rob straight out of some Imperial Warehouse just cool! Great details, paint, interior the list goes on. I am sure Brian in the Smugglers Room also killed gotta go check his out too.
That's a fantastic build. Love the story integration too. Happy Canada Day
stunning
Great Challenge. Great piece! Cant wait to see them all!
Happy Canada Day, I love this thing! What a genius!
Ok, so this challenge was awesome. Seen two so far (smugglers room & yours); both are amazing. I love that you give your prop such a back story and thought to how it fits in the SW universe. The novel paint chipping is fantastic. I wonder if those chemical paint rust products would be another level to add with all its bubbled up rust look...or just a bit to much. Either way , loved the episode and feel inspired to think of such things and hopefully put to the test in a future build.
Looks great! Definitely belongs in the Star Wars universe! I love the detail on the inside of the door, that really brings it all together.
This is amazing. Thanks for sharing. Happy Canada Day.
That's awesome! Great idea! Love it, it looks so cool! So jealous!
Great build. Happy Canada Day. I have used the tooth paste method before, but never thought about using tape to pull it off.
Found your channel somehow through Instagram. Your very entertaining. Cant wait to check out more of your stuff.
That's excellent!
great video
Very cool!!
SOOOOO AWESOME!!!
Great work Rob. What did you use for that textured groove? Rubber belt of some kind?
rad
Excellent work! What did you use to drive the pixels and leds?
Great build. Will try the toothpaste technique on. My next build. Love the makeup pixel strip light. Hopefully you are using an arduino to run the RGB LED’s. If so can I get a link to the sketch (code)?

Thanks - no arduino. Just a cheap pixel strip controller from china. It comes with a remote and dozens of animations.

Awesome work! That Coaxium cylinder is masterful! How did you construct the exterior, and the interior lighting?

@@MadcowGenesis Nice. Would you ever think about doing a Coxaium prop tutorial? A lot of fan filmers like myself could benefit from learning your process.
Wow! Amazing! How many hours did you put into that?

I didn't count!
WOW, THIS IS AMAZING. I want to build something like this so could you list the materials you used to make it?

Thanks. I don't have a complete list, but most of what I used is described in the video.

Is there a tutorial on how you made the coaxium vial?
@MadcowGenesis
3 жыл бұрын
Sorry no. I used some lightsaber parts (heatsink, optics can) You can get things like that at www.thecustomsabershop.com. The tube is 7/8" thin wall blade tube, and the coaxium model file is available on my website - you can print it in resin at shapeways... genesiscustomsabers.com/?wpsc-product=coaxium-3d-model-file
Would you happen to have an ice cold container of alien sea creature tit milk inside? Luke would approve...
So can you buy this i would love to buy one

Where do u find your led buttons?
@MadcowGenesis

The white squares are lazer cut and lit from behind. The yellow ones are just 5mm LEDs with caps. None of these function as buttons - just for looks.
