I wonder if Data could have survived a Klingon disrupter blast. Either way, it was an admirable act of nobility on his part.

To this day this is one of my favorite moments of star trek. They made such an exciting scene full of adrenaline without really showing any action, just half a dozen people sitting in chairs and talking. Really impressive acting from everyone, and the music really solidifies the atmosphere

You see something wonderful about worf and datas personality here. Data steps in front of his captain. Worf has already phasered the man.

I love that Data immediately jumped in front of the Captain.

Terrific episode. Going through the series again, one of the first episodes in the series to "feel like TNG."

@brandovlogs why are you going through the series, if you don’t mind my asking? Answering earnestly, I believe there a few good/great episodes in season 1, even more in 2, and 3 is where it, in general, the show becomes “TNG.” There are a few duds here and there throughout the entirety of the series, but it’s mostly all very good. Heads up though, worst episode ever is the season 2 finale.

@brandovlogs interesting. Since posting that comment I’ve completed my watch of TNG, I had done DS9 the year prior, and now I’m at season 5 of Voyager. I had seen some of the episodes on TV as a kid, but never the full things. I still have TOS and Enterprise to watch. Happy watching!

@brandovlogs Oh yeah I've been meaning to check out The Orville! I'm pretty wary of so-called "new Trek," but I'll probably check out SNW someday!

Reminder that Riker is on of the the few pepople if not the only person to successfully make Picard surrender.

Love the Data sidestep... knowing worf will fire past him and also protecting Picard

More proof that Season 2 was extremely underrated.

I played Riker in a small performance on stage in 2001 The Story was a different ending to The Generations Movie except we used Voice over actors to be other crew members we crash land the Saucer (Riker was Captain in the Story Picard had left to become Admiral ) Riker is thrown in the air during the crash He suffers a concussion his forehead bleeding He looks around and sees everybody else was dead he climbs out of the wreckage he sees Standup Comedy props on the ground he picks them up and reads outloud the jokes that were written and uses a puppet when the last joke was read he puts the props back where he found them and Picards Voice is heard from the rescue ship in orbit of the planet informing him that he was the only of the Enterprise to survive the crash Riker takes one last look around then touching his combadge saying One to beam up it was like a ten minute skit due to Stage time where other performers who were at the charity event I performed in back then But had I more time I would have wanted to see Riker go to Jail and Picard defends him Starfleet would probably charge him with the deaths of everybody who died on the say The Enterprise was destroyed and the loss of the ship itself There was a battle between the Enterprise and the Duras Sisters but Riker could have gone away ( there was no Doctor Soran or James T Kirk) imagine being the only one left after a crash like that it was fun to do and raised the funds needed so if u were Admiral Picard what would u say to Riker after rescuing him arrest him or not? tell me the reason that as Admiral u would or not charge Riker with anything

Riker is such a baller. While the Phaak was getting repaired he was banging out the two Klingon ladies to celebrate a battle won.

Well thats one way to become Captain on a klingon ship without spilling blood 😁

Klingon: "If we lower the cloak, we will be destroyed!" Riker: "Yeah, _in battle!"_ Riker being more Klingon than a Klingon.

They know that without the cloak and the element of surprise they have no chance toe to toe vs a Galaxy Class federation starship. It's less that they don't want to fight but more that they would need strategy to fight an opponent such as the Enterprise.

Gotta love how Riker low key challenges that Klingon’s honor when he questions Riker’s order to drop the cloak

Great episode. Great scene.

You would think even the pugnacious Klingons would understand firing on or destroying a Federation starship is an act of war and this would give them pause, particularly when the evidence that the Enterprise was responsible for the life form was so flimsy. After all the Klingons and the Federation were allies at that point and it would have made zero sense for them to sabotage the Klingon ship.

An awkward turn of events. I liked when the captain returns and throws Riker out of the Klingon captain's chair. Get off my ship!
