    Between filming the crew took Hawking on a tour of the various sets. On the engineering deck set he stopped next to the warp core engine, smiled and said "I'm working on that!"

    Professor Hawking's body was a like a prison for him but his mind was free to explore the cosmos with mathematics. What a brilliant mind it was. He will be missed.

    chase1146 He was breathing so hard and heavy that the crew called in an EMT unit, thinking he was going into shock-but really he was just that worked up to be there.

    Star trek is not about space fights. Its about the unlimited possible life forms and natural wonders that space holds for humanity. I am pretty sure Hawking liked it for the scientific creativity and various content about space phenomenons. Star trek is not some crappy space action movie like star wars.

    The key ingredient for warp drives is just negative mass. Perhaps someone reading this can one day prove it is possible to even create negative mass. Do so and you will be able to explore the stars within a lifetime.

    Annnnnnnnnnnnd i became a kid again instantly :D seriously the guys who did the dialogue nailed Issac's anti-social behavior and Einstein's easy going nature (in public). When Einstein got the bet wrong, that jab from Issac could not be more well placed

    Behind scenes story, when dr hawking was on the set to shoot this appearance, he passed by a large prop for the show. He asked what it was and the crew said it was the warp engine. He said “oh we’re working on that”

    It's a good lesson not to put things off. I missed out on meeting Leonard Nimoy too. :-( But at least I will get to meet William Shatner this summer at Supercon!

    Stephen Hawking is a national treasure to Society. it sucks that he never received a Nobel prize, but we all know how important he is in the history of science. Even though he was an atheist I Always loved him and I believe he was a great man.

    Wow ,what an absolute treat,the illustrious John Neville plays Newton! As anyone who remembers the amazing 1968 mini series The First Churchills will attest he played John Churchill ,Duke of Marlborough to a tee.an amazing actor who just looked so good in a wig,evidently the star trek producers agreed.The first Churchills is on KZread,check it out to see him in his glorious wig once more :)
