Unfortunately they only remake the popular ones. This game was fantastic I loved being able to go from air to land in the same battle. Was obsessed with unlocking all the characters in multiplayer. Amazing game

This would be a really hard game to remake for someone by themself so i can't do it without help and even if i really really want to and i really want to nintendo won't allow it i what i think would be the easiest to code is the landmaster and on ground player controls what would take the longest is the air/space combat and i never made a on rail selection in a game before so i wonder how that would go probably just have use a spline for the camera and player to follow and make the player bound to the view port to prevent them from getting out of camera view and now that i thinking about the code for this game it actually not that hard with today's software

One of my absolute favorite childhood games, the worlds were amazing, the ost was beautiful, gameplay was smooth and it had a great story, that cutscene where peppy chose to “sacrifice” himself had me In tears the first time

The whole ost is banger

Loved this game... such a fun sandbox experience. Honestly I think they could pull off a battle royal style game like this one. Seamlessly being able to jump into tank or arwing worked so well.

I've always hated the battle against Pepper. You have to aim slightly above the target to hit him.

I have always wanted to make an animated movie based off this game.

I LOVED this game.

the sargasso skip was impressive Edit:may i ask how you do infinite arwing boost?

Rockett Dawg it's pretty simple. just mash the y button on the controller. I can do it pretty well. I just can't shoot very fast while doing it.

Sorry for the late reply. I some how missed your comment. You want to just activate the boost and let it drain. Once it is all gone just simply mash boosting. Unlike other Star Fox games as soon as the boost runs out in this one it instantly begins to refill and there's no cool down on it.

I was wondering why the death abuse skip in the Hideout works?

I don't know specifically why it happens. But I believe it carries over the "objective complete" to the next one you are suppose to get after the death. In the case of this level (and on Mission 9 later on) there are only 2 objectives in the level. So using it on the first completes the second thus immediately ending the level.

If it's possible.. Could we get a Gold 100% Speedrun in HD? It doesn't have to be a REAL speedrun, but more-so just something I could watch to appreciate this game more than I already do.

I unfortunately don't have the equipment or a modded gamecube console to record proper HD nor do I have anything for recording HD from a wii either. I don't like playing on emulator either not to mention recording video from dolphin is really dumb unless you try to find a compiled version where someone actually fixed it so that it does it correctly.

While the game is transitioning from a completed objective to the new objective you are getting you are completely invincible during that period of time. If you die on the first frame possible coming out of that (I walk against the turret so I take instant damage as soon as I'm not invincible anymore) the game will complete (or skip if you will) the objective you were just getting and go to the next one. Since in this case the one I skipped was the last objective the mission just ends. I also did this on Mission 3 skipping the Star Wolf fight. A draw back of this is that if the objective you are skipping is not the last one for the level the game will be softlocked. It will progress to the following objective but Fox will be laying on the ground dead (he doesn't get respawned). Additionally this glitch is NTSC exclusive. It doesn't work on either of the two PAL versions.

Define speedrun, with it being you not taking any damage whatsoever.

Speedruns where you add the restriction of taking no damage are usually just called No Damage or Damageless. Everything else rule or definition wise would be the exact same.

Dude, you are so good at not only this game but sticking mission 7 with a fight against pepper’s flagship. How did you do that without taking so much damage on gold difficulty and what’s the best configuration for all missions? My first playthrough of this is straight forward but how am I supposed to make mission 7 a cakewalk with pepper’s after a repeat from mission 4’s wing riding in falco’s ship? What’s the best way?

I'm not really sure I understand your question. If by configuration you mean controls I use the Dual Stick layout. In terms of speedrunning this is the best one to use as Single Stick and R button Run both limit your movement however in the case of the wing riding it shouldn't really matter much there as you can't move around but can only turn the camera. For defeating General Pepper it's mostly about memorizing his path/movements and just making sure you are always shooting him as much as you can.

@@Wishengrad The pilot missions are what make this game fun to me. The ones where you only use the arwing and are on a set path that you can't deviate from I find to be kind of boring. Routing the pilot mission for gold 100% was a lot fun. Working out the best path to take to not only complete the objectives but also get a really high combo while also taking the time bonus into account so that you come out at the right score is really satisfying. Or at least for me it was. I'd definitely recommend this for speedrunning. It's really easy to get into.

@@Jimmie1717 I believe I still have my disc, otherwise I can use my softmodded Wii to run the game. For labbing though, are emulator runs allowed? Not sure if anyone has made any gecko codes for practicing such, I haven't looked much into this game (and haven't played it since the year it released...)

@@Wishengrad Unofficial emulation isn't allowed for leaderboard submissions you of course could still do runs that way to start out and see if you like it. There isn't really any need for codes as the game has a mission select menu allowing you to do any of them in isolation easily. That said though console savestates would be nice for practicing some of the boss fights at the ends of arwing levels. Only difference that I can think of is on mission 3 the elevator moves much slower when playing from mission select vs playing in actual story mode. However in mission select if you go and activate the elevator then die to restart over again when you activate it again it will move fast again. I do this in my IL of that level to get a faster time.
