I love how they basically annihilated the characters of Fox and Krystal, and they essentially make a joke out of it at both the expense of fans of said characters, and F-Zero fans.

Yes this is one of the worst endings in the game, but I do have my beliefs. I personally think this is the canonical ending to Starfox as a series. Here is why: 1. Every game after this has been a re-telling of Star Fox 64, possibly Slippy telling his kids about how heroic his old buddy Fox was, and the glory days he had working with the furry friend. This even works with Star Fox Adventures, as Slippy just sat in the back seat the entire time 2. Krystal never reappears anywhere, and neither does Panther except in the Smash Bros Stage Lylat Cruise- where they talk over intercom. Krystal only ever speaks whenever a member of Star Wolf is with her... So perhaps she is in fact loyal to wolf 3. With Star Wolf reigning supreme and Fox going into F-Zero racing, that also ties in two things... 3a. Fox could be seen as a successful racer, but we had never known ourselves because we never got another F-Zero game after the gamecube. 3b. James McCloud was Fox's Father who formed the first line of Star Fox. During the first trip to Venom, something happened to James Mccloud. it is heavily implied that he is dead, but a vision of him appears to Fox during Star Fox 64. Of course, ti was just a ghost... right? He's not still alive is he? ... He could be. F-Zero has a racer named "James McCloud" Who dresses exactly like how James of SF64 dressed, wears sunglasses, and has the same color hair as his furry counterpart. So it could have been that Andross discovered a way to turn furries into humans. Plus, it would be very Bittersweet to have Fox unknowingly racing his dad all these years after thinking he was dead. A very fitting mood for how the entire series and this headcanon is. but what the hell do I know; I'm just some nerd on KZread who has too much free time?

Best thing I’ve seen is Fox & Krystal being together, happy & having a son. I loving seeing my hero’s get a happy ending,

It’s the only ending that matters. I wish Marcus got to inherit his father’s role in a new game. That would have been the best way to continue the series rather than just rebooting it. Marcus deserves to be the new main character.

As for dash, he’s basically a wild card when it comes to being good or evil. And while the ending with dash becoming Andross 2.0 contradicts this one, remember, DASH. IS. A. WILD. CARD.

“Good bye fox” seems to be the only one that makes sense. And it’s fair for the team and the characters themselves.

After Foxes Son Grew up and went to the academy and followed his dads foot steps He had Slippys son and peppys granddaughter join. He even Invited Falco to Join. Fal Serves as Marcus’s Mentor just like Peppy did to Fox. And There for a New Star Fox is born.

Some of these endings hurt man. To see noble people put down so low, it hurts. To see people like falco and fox (who were good hearted) stripped of everything they love and care about, it is really depressing.

Just don't pick options that are too selfish or reckless. The team is broken up so you need to stick with options that make sure the SF team either stay together or actively seek each-other out.

Most of these endings are quite dark to be honest, they have stuff that changes the characters life and in other cases you kinda feel sorry for them like the Falco one where he feels useless or ending 8 with Fox. But I agree that endings 4 and especially 9 were and felt like a climax, with 9 being a true ending to the whole Star Fox squad, definetly my personal favorite.

I remember this game lowkey being depressing as a kid. The gameplay was fun but then you gotta experience all these sad endings. Even some of the better endings had a depressing feel to em. But it was cool that every decision had huge ripple effects

Besides being a big F-Zero reference it's also that Fox and Falco made a mistake in chasing after Star Wolf rather than focus on reuniting Star Fox and overcoming the Anglars.

If this got made into an anime or animated series, you could combine most of these into one complete story. Star Wolf looks good in the public eye, Star Fox disbands and everyone goes their separate ways, Slippy and Amanda get married that day and have a bunch of kids, Fox and Crystal make up and have a son, Marcus McCloud restarts up Star Fox after Star Falco is over. Dash becomes the threat that Marcus' Star Fox has to stop. It would be interesting stuff. And Kursed could show up from another future timeline wearing a mask the whole time interacting with the team from time to time until it's revealed to be another Crystal. Weird stuff as far as this game goes, but there's been weirder.

@ghostoftime1 Ive had an idea about that. Idk if you've read the Nintendo Power Star Fox comics, but its revealed that James is still alive but just apart of a demension hopping space whale. We could either say that he made his way out of it thru some weird space magic but just has amnesia or we could say that during his younger days he had some wild adventures, one of which changed his body to that of a humans and he rode around in the F-Zero universe. There are ways to make it work with a good team of writers

Jesus some of these endings make me think of how the futures for the team turn out when it ends. I never thought star wolf would take star fox's place which resulted in fox and falco going into G-Zero racing and their memories of being a star fox team fading. These games endings im sure most of them leave a dark future for the team and im not really happy with that. Not to mention poor fox and poor krystal! It seems they are the ones who get their emotions fucked up either by other means or just the two of them in general. Bottom line many endings leave star fox in a bad position and that makes me pretty sad and upset because lord knows they don't deserve it!

Honestly, I think all of the endings are canon. The events leading up to them are mutually exclusive, but the actual endings themselves are a bit more open. Team Star Fox/Wolf defeats the Anglers. Krystal and Fox have a child named Marcus. Krystal eventually leaves Fox for Panther and joins Star Wolf. Star Fox Dissolves. Star Wolf replaces Star Fox, Krystal changes her name to Kursed. Fox and Falco go into racing, but eventually Falco drops out to form Star Falco wish Katt and Dash. Slippy and Amanda have their HOARD OF CHILDREN. Dash splits from Star Falco to run Venom. By this time, Marcus is the age of Fox in 64. Venom and Corneria start their new war. Star Wolf sides with Venom, Fox with Corneria. Fox is lured into a trap by Kursed. Fox is presumed dead. Marcus and Falco reform Star Fox. And History repeats.

Before Zero basically rebooted the series, I always thought the next Star Fox game after Command would be about Marcus’ new team

I feel like most of these endings can be mixed together into the good and bad ending. This isn't perfect, but I tried. Good: The Star Fox team stays together for a few more adventures (including Lucy, Katt, older Peppy and Amanda). Dash leads Venom into a bright time. Time passes. A new Star Fox team consisting of Marcus, Slippy's kid, Peppy's granddaughter, and older Falco appear to team up with older Dash against a huge threat to the Lylat system. Bad: Due to underlying issues between the team, they disband for good. Krystal runs off to Star Wolf. Slippy and Amanda stay on Aquas for the rest of their lives. Falco goes off on his own to maybe become a vigilante or something. Fox probably lives a depressing life on his own. Older Dash seizes the opportunity to conquer the Lylat System.

I like the goodbye fox ending best. It seemed like it has the most potential for a sequel.

This game is a _fanfic machine._ I can't believe I haven't seen anyone pick up on it as such. Literally every ending is fanfic material. I guess that means people prefer to write their own fanfics instead of running with what the games give them, huh?

Because a magazine it seems from Nintendo told them it was but honestly do not think this game is at all true or apart of the story. I played it little bit and seen the endings and all that. If it was Canon or true they would NOT have added so many endings depending on the characters or choices.

"When I was a youngin' there was this big team called Star Fox. As if it was a dream come true, the light that shined through outer space was nothing but Fox. Star Fox." - Slippy, Telling the tale to his young offspring

I've never played any of the starfox games before but I prefer the ending of this game where fox retires from starfox team to marry krystal and had a child with her their son Marcus to be exact that for me is the only ending of the game that I consider canon

I find Star Fox: Command to be the most depressing game in the Star Fox series, with so many different endings and events, It actually feels like a real life struggle, and I get constantly worried if I made the right life choice or not. I don't think I've ever felt like that in many decision games for so long.

I’m glad that this game is non-canon.

She leaves Star Wolf and becomes a solo bounty hunter years later. 8:30 LUCY & KRYSTAL Everyone’s celebrating after their victory. Peppy & Lucy chat & Krystal rejoins Star Fox. 11:23 DASH MAKES A CHOICE Dash goes from planning to make Venom a peaceful planet to becoming a power hungry tyrant. They have a kid named Marcus and many years later - continues his dad, Fox’s legacy and forms a new Star Fox team.

The first one is a good ending, second is bad, third is bad, fourth is good, fifth is bad, sixth is good/bad, but I'm calling good, seventh is good/bad, I'm calling bad, eighth is bad, ninth is good. Only four endings are good! Half of the game's endings are bad!

While the ending with Fox and Krystal settling down is tied to the one where Slippy has a bunch of kids with Amanda, and perhaps the ending with Dash becoming what's essentially the new Andross.

Star wolf return is the saddest ending i think

The one of Fox and Krystal Married and has a son is the best. Marcus followed fox’s footsteps with the best fighting skills. And by having Slippys son, Peppy granddaughter and the bad ass Falco Star Fox Is reborn. It be nice to have a Star Fox game with Marcus as the leader

3 years late but whatever. Nintendo listens to it's Japanese fanbase first and foremost. Take the amount of Star Fox fans that like Krystal in America. Halve it. Add one half to the other side that doesn't like her. You have how she was received in Japan.

All this feels an awful lot like fanfiction. I do like the way they fleshed out Star Wolf's character and story more, but I still can't believe they somehow managed to retcon F-Zero into this. Slippy having a fiance also feels weird, since he sounds like he's barely hit puberty (aside from apparently not knowing what "anniversary" means...), and the Shakespeare reference at 7:56 almost had me thinking they were going to have Krystal commit suicide

I think we all can agree Ending #9, "Goodbye, Fox", feels like the proper climax to the series.

It's a punishment for being too selfish. You bailed out on the team when you could have helped stopped Anglars and so Slippy even with a family has to live with regrets.

So Fox, what did you think of the events that transpire in Command? Fox McCloud: "Crap."

To be fair, 7/9 endings just... Don't work. Goodbye, Fox seems like the only true ending, as it's the one where despite all the shit that happened between Fox and Krystal, they forgot about it, and Fox managed to pull of what James (probably) only dreamed of, seeing his son grow up into such an elite fighter, with Falco being Fox's right hand man. I'd love to see a continuation of ending 9, it's just something that kind of sparks ideas, at least to me it does. I'm not too fond of this game, but I would definitely recommend ending 9 over all others. It's like 64's Hard route, you just don't feel satisfied if you take the easy route in that game cause you know there is still conflict, but if you do take the Hard route, and rid of Andross til he returns in Adventures, you get that feeling of completion, and know that's what truly happened, with nothing left to really question.

To be honest, Goodbye Fox doesn’t seem like the real ending. Maybe the ending everyone wanted, but not the real one. As stated, Anglar Emperor makes more sense, that or “Fox and Krystal”. Either seems like a proper tie in. I understand wanting a happily ever after, but the truth is the end of Fox’s story is out of nowhere in that ending. The whole point of Krystal joining Star Wolf was to prove she can fight. But in that ending she never fights again, along with Fox? It makes no sense.

Personally, I'd love to see different takes on several of these endings, especially the ones where Dash turns to the dark side and threatens the Lylat System. An action filled _continuation_ story that takes itself reasonably seriously and has a character driven narrative (that isn't a freaking soap opera) would be great. We just never got one. Star Fox Assault was a half-step in the right direction.

They're largely supposed to be punishments. They all fit the pattern of "characters act too selfish or too reckless or too spiteful and not trying hard enough to meet up with friends" and they all get a punishment for it (Fox and Falco becoming racers since they focused on hunting Star Wolf/Krystal/Pigma, Krystal not only losing her reputation and renaming herself as a vigilante but Fox moving on from his life without her until they meet again, etc.).

Ending 2 - Goodbye, Fox? Now THAT’S an ending. Damn good fuckin ending! Hell yeah!

I love every single one of these endings. I grew up with this franchise, and all the different tones were exactly what I needed/wanted when I was younger. On a related note, I still stan for the team she and Lucy made. Don't think they ever named it...

Krystal and Fox get back together and stay together. You all can fight me to the death but I will go down for this couple's happiness. Even though I don't ship anthropomorphic animals but there's a first for everything.

Man, I *LOVED* this game when I was a kid. And the voice editing option made it even better!

Nintendo must have smoked a lot of crack to come up with the G-Zero grand prix and the Kursed ending. God I hate almost all the characterization in this game, but a combo of "Lucy and Krystal" and "Dash makes a choice" honestly sound like a potentially good sequel.

What so there's just...NO good way out for Dash no matter what? That's harsh man, and if just flies in the face of all the "you're not your grandfather you're your own man" stuff the game throws at you about the character the whole time. I've never really minded the multi ending aspect of this game, and some of these as goofy or, sad, overly dark as they are, are obviously "bad end" or what-if type of deals that you don't have to necessarily take to heart (heck, I kind of love the "G"-Zero ending just cause it's such a funny nod to the human James being in F-Zero. Plus the whole idea is kinda neat too. Fox and Falco just say fuck it all lol.) while endings like 1, 4, 9 , or maybe 6 (or a bit of all four, depending on how you look at it in the long run those could all co-exist with just Fox and/or Slippy retiring at a later date instead.) are the more positive or "canon-ish" endings, at least for 1 and 4 where the team as we know it continues... ...but the Dash one always bugged me a-lot because the character's made out to be this really nice guy, who's deeply regretful of the blood ties he has to Andross and they paint him out to be like a repentant next-gen hero...only for him to just end up an asshole anyways. It just contradicts itself. It just comes out the left field, and I don't really like the message that he's just destined to be bad cause of his bloodline. Well, 4's my favorite end. It's the team getting back together for a few more adventures, but in a less forgettably vanilla way than 1 and I liked Peppy's daughter. 9's pretty good too, but it and 6 are sort of bittersweet. Maybe have them happen in the further future, but don't retire yet. lol As said, it's silly but I kind of love the G-Zero ending too, I just don't take it seriously.

I only own StarFox Adventures awhile I'm wait for my assault arriving soon I know I don't own the StarFox Command but, I love the StarFox franchise and the best ending with Fox, Krystal, and Marcus McCloud

I want to see a new F-Zero game where you play as Captain Falcon who shows the entire G-Zero squad what he can do. And he meets up with Fox and Falco who are G-Zero racers and the three remember the Smash Bros battles. Cameos will be of the entire Star Wolf team in the crowd during the final race against Black Bull at Corneria

As insane as the 'Story' is, this game made me feel all kinda nostalgic for Starfox 64 (My copy, and many other games I had got stolen. Hoping to one day buy some old cartridges.)

People shit the hell out of this game, but as a StarFox fanboy I appreciate the effort to continue the story and characters development instead of doing the Lylat Wars AGAIN. Hell, even some of them had pottential to be great spin offs like the G-Zero or the Dash ending!

I hope, if they ever push forward with the canon, they choose one of the "bad" endings. The having a kid with Krystal thing is nice, but Krystal running off to Star Wolf would make a really cool follow up in the next game. Think of all the story potential.

I know it has been 3 years old (or more) but I want to give my opinion and ranking these endings, giving your gameplay: 9th The Curse of Pigma: This is by far, the wors ending of the game. Just because Star Wolf redemmed themselves, doesn't mean that Star Fox would be forgotten. Is like everything the had gone through, every challenge they had passed, every time they had sacrificed to save lylat system, went down in matter of seconds. And Peppy archieving them as heroes, where he was a hero twice? I don't want to sound like a boomer, but its just an insult and destroys everything Star Fox's own adventures go through. Simply, this ending was the worst of the worst. 8th Pigma's Revenge: Wow, Pigma is the final boss of these two endings and both are really bad (is as if Pigma warn us that you chose the wrong route all along); well whatever. Here we are talking about the endings. The truth is that the entire route was very lame; I mean, Falco go trough the Lylat System by himself, only supported by Kat and Bill. But before encontring Fox, he decided to go through Krystal; Travels to Sector X and fell into a trap. Then after defeating Pigma, everyone cheers like there is no morning, and left falco behind. Not just this ending, this route is made by someone who really hates falco A LOT. The ending, the route and the way Falco became ressentful, and made his own Team called "Star Falco" (Wow, what a name, what is next? "Star Krystal" ?) where his team is compared to Star Fox and has a rivalry against them. Is kinda out of character here, and was kinda off in a way. Still, I consider iy better than the other one in G Zero, because the other one was WAY more insulting than this one. 7th Sleppy's Resolve: The only reason why this ending is below the original is his path itself. When you helped Peppy and wanted to help the others, Sleppy went through his own and loner path than falco's. Falco's route was kinda lame and solitary, but this is WAY worse. But here we speak about the ending, and just by THAT ending, Sleepy's ending is better than the "Star Falco" one by little. The only thing good here is that this ending, Sleepy became MC of his own Story, having a resolve and defeating the enemy by his own hands. And then, had a family and had a normal life as himself without losing his character. His Path is the shortest and most frustrating, but the ending is gold with him and represents the character at least. 6th The Anglar Emperor: Yep, this is the Story's initial path. This Path is the main Path and what I saw, was really good. The path literally goes by the intro of the game itself (duh) and has a great trial. However, my only inconvenient, is the ending. That ending was kinda... Off actually, and was WAY off Krystal's character, honestly. I firmly believe that if this ending and "Fox And Krystal" 's ending switched, then this ending would had been better and more reliable. Because the one where Krystal acts like a jerk, has the perfect ending for this path, and this path has the ending for that path as well. 5th Dash Makes a Choice: Honestly, this ending goes through the 4th or 5th worst path of the game. But the thing that I like about this ending, is when we have a better detail ablut Dash influences about Andross. We played as him, defeated Andross's weapons, and defeated Anglar. But what makes this path worthed, is that you can play with James McCloud (AKA Fox's Father and First Leader of the Star Fox Team) and is WAY awesome honestly. For him, that path is worth with. Then Dash became responsible with Venom, still, he has the same issue as Andross and maybe started another war. 4th Star Wolf Returns!: After some akward parts of the same path as before, we had the Star Wolf's chapter, at last. This chapter was WAY better than I expected. The Star Wolf Team tried to restore Venom to its former self. The topic was awesome and then they archieved that goal, where Krystal was the mayor brain of this operation. However, the ending was WAY salty and sour for Krystal. She was criticized and rejected by the corneria and left Star Wolf and became a mercenarie of her own. The thing that I put this higher is that the whole chapter was awesome, and this ending has more impact than the characters in the ending before this. And having meeting Fox without him to reconize her? Was pure gold. I think this one and Dash's ending are kinda fighting for this place, but tvis is my opinion at most. 3rd Fox And Krystal: the ending was good, easily one of the best endings of the game by far. Even if the two other endings are WAY better than this one, this has some issues that this ending has its flaws, and pretty big ones. Krystal here, became way a jerk against Fox, Falco and Sleepy. Krystal became more and more agressive over the course of the game's path. Here I can se that Krystal could've been working better, or better yet, switch these path's endings: "The Anglar Emperor" Ending with "Fox And Krystal" Ending. In the Anglar's route, Krystal started to realize and became aware of her actions, and she deserves that ending where she rejoins the Star Fox Team and Fox started to understand friendship and love. While the other (this ending's path) she became agressive, bad mouthed and such a jerk, just because of a misunderstanding. The Anglar's ending was more appealing here because she is more repelent to the team (more against Fox). The ending was good, the problem, is the path they are on. 2nd Lucy And Krystal: the second best ending. Here I felt an Star Fox vibe when playing the Mission. Every girl has to do something with the Star Fox original team (Krystal loves Fox, Katt befriends Falco, Lucy is daughter of Peppy, and Amanda marries Sleepy) this chapter has a perfect conclusion for the girl team, and the girls have a great potential and great chemistry. They had archieved their msyor goal together as a team, when the lriginsl where fighting in Venom. Just pure the scene. Pure scene. 1st Goodbye Fox: The game's True canon Ending. This ending is about the path of the original Star Fox team. The team was once again together to defeat the Anglar emperor. What makes this ending so emblematic, is because of it's character interaction as the first game on SNES. But also, was Fox's last mission before his retirement and peaciful life with Krystal. Both Fox and his team gave their most and archive the ultimate mission as a team. And this ending has WAY more weight to the game story, because in a beginning, the team became to live their own eyes. But here, everything makes sense and Fox realized that his time had come. So he needex to do one final effort and save Lylat System. This ending was good as hell and is one of the few that has an organic interacion between the characters in Star Fox. This is kinda late and long, but is my humble opinion and archieves the goals they at least should have.

You could say that Falco and Fox became team Captian Falco!

This is why I’m glad the series rebooted by the time SF: Zero comes out. All of these endings gave me gallons of mixed emotions each Oh and no offence for Krystal fans and Krystal in general but I prefer the old fashioned four (being Fox, Falco, Slippy and Peppy)

In this video's order. Ending 1: eh whatever. Ending 2: one of my least favorites. Ending 3: The worst chapter of the game. Hands down. Krystal is written so terribly in this game (same with Fox) and the ending. Ending 4: One of the best endings and my top 2 Command endings. Ending 5: Eh, hard to say. It be interesting for Dash to be the next gen villain of Star Fox (along with another) Ending 6: Is it really necessary of an ending? Amanda is bland and forgettable. Ending 7: This screams to me, no. Just no. Ending 8: Again, one of my least favorite endings. Prior to connect to Star Wolf Returns, but love the music before the ending kicks in. Ending 9: The best and favorite ending of the game. The execution is ok, but I'd love it more if Krystal was with Fox during the final battle. And Marcus becoming next gen leader of Star Fox. Overall, I hate 7/9 endings. That's not a good thing Nintendo. You better pick the ending Goodbye Fox as your actually ending of the game. The concept is amazing, but it be more awesome with a mixture of Dash's ending by becoming the next Andross.

it didn't. It's confirmed as a reimagining of SF64.

pretty sure it doesn't matter whether or not it's a reboot, Zero flopped in sales, Command even sold better, plus Zero had a much bigger budget. I dunno if Nintendo even made a profit with it, but it's unlikely that there will be any more StarFox games after that. the series is going straight back into development hell.

Z-95SkyHunter The game could have been good if miymoto wasnt braindead and understood that no one wanted a 3rd reinmagining of the same game we played back on thr 64 and snes Also.... the fucking horrid controls. Im happy the switch doesnt have a shitty gimmick like the wiiu

Although I hate the third ending, but to think that Star Wolf can become normal citizen makes me happy

I hate that everyone wants a new game with Marcus. Because the whole fuking point of star fox is that Fox is supposed to be the main fuking character and James (his dad) is supposed to be a lore character for a dam reason.

I like grown up Marcus (NOT the way it happened or Command, just the way he looks) but he would be a pretty lame main character. The only thing I get out of that ending is old Falco with paralyzed legs, which I still love for some reason-

I gotta say, of the endings, I think Ending 1 or 9 makes the most sense. Would love to see the Adventures of Fox's and Krystal's son, Marcus with the new StarFox Team. I just for the life of me can't understand why Miyamoto would want Ending 2 to be the canon ending. That would crush the hearts and souls of like 50%-75% of the fandom.

Well, for what I can tell, we'll be seeing the good ending as canon. So, it's either Goodbye Fox, or Lucy and Krystal ending. Either way, they'll most likely focus on that, since we need Fox and Krystal together and reconciled their relationship.

Supposedly the canon ending is where Krystal leaves Fox and joins Star Wolf permanently.

@@ametharieltejadaherrera377 You'll never know. Considering that most of the video games series good ending is canon and hardly that bad ending is canon, then I wouldn't be surprised if they'll either use Goodbye Fox, or Krystal and Lucy since this is technically canon on good ending.

Not sure why they basically ruined the Star Fox team's lives in almost every ending. I liked some of the dialogue in this game, like Slippy manning up and being useful, but it all ends so hopelessly. Assault was so good too. Guess they really wanted to kill off Krystal and everyone. Maybe they just knew in advance that they wanted to start over. Zero wasn't bad (lacked levels though), but I guess the world really didn't want another origin story or a controller gimmick. Gotta admit - Zero controlled beautifully compared to Command.

Honestly at this point with the star wolf returns and the anglar emperor endings I just wanna give Krystal a hug for all she is going through!😢

I think I see why they had to reboot the series now..

Canadiansamurai Just to clarify Shigeru Miyamoto said Zero is not a reboot but just takes Star Fox 64’s place in the canon.
