    I come to this channel for the stoicism but I happen to be a one-time comedy geek and I also like video games, so you were a triple threat here. I thought that was a very good performance. It's a lot better than a fair bit of stuff I've seen on the big TV shows, such as Live At The Apollo. I noticed you also described your physical/facial appearance in comedic terms which seems to be something every comedian has to do these days.

    @@VoxStoica you know a lot of people say “2020” but surprisingly for me it has been my best year, I learned so much and made so much progress on my KZread channel. Finally all these years of effort(6 years) and I can run my own business. This 2020 I realized I was just in the wrong head space and failed to take the opportunities in front of me. I would love to narrate for your channel!

    The question of self acceptance vs self improvement is a bit of a conundrum. The largest periods of growth were during periods of self acceptance, (for me) but there is the practical matter of improvement as well. It is also not well defined because perhaps self acceptance could be the acceptance that a person is an addict and it needs to change and it will hurt to do so? That isn’t just accepting, but it also is a clear evaluation. Idk it is a fine line that I seem to struggle with. Finding the right answer is required to defining the right goals as well so it isn’t trivial. Perhaps the best definition of self acceptance is the clear evaluation of ones actions and their effects?

    This FYI was given to your latest video but I am concerned more knowing that you're also a performer. There is a new media resource classifying KZread Channels according to political content. Your channel is being listed as "Religious Con", "Anti-SJW" etc. This channel got mistaken (I think because of the discourses but maybe the jokes or comments). Mistaken inclusion is starting to be a problem for others, called Transparency Tube. Some are successful requesting removal through the Twitter account. I wanted to give you an FYI so you can remedy the problem before it can get out of hand.

    I don't get it. So, you are deciding to lie to get a laugh? How does this fit with your world view? What is the purpose of this? Are you really addicted to video games? All this video did is cause me to lose respect for you. I'm not trying to be harsh or to condemn you; I just didn't see this one coming and it doesn't match who I imagined you to be based on your YT content. Perhaps I'm bias because I hate stand-up since it's just people lying to get a cheap laugh. To each their own I guess. P.S. I didn't laugh. Especially since your message at the end was to not try to improve yourself and be content in your sin.

  • @VoxStoica

    @VoxStoica

    4 жыл бұрын

    Video games were something I became addicted to growing up, but I'm not anymore as I chose to deliberately change who I was. The point of the set is to say we shouldn't take self-acceptance too far, as if we accept video game addiction as "part of who we are" we could also accept heroin addiction as "part of who we are".

  • @isaiahii6982

    @isaiahii6982

    @@VoxStoica The message seem to be the opposite to me. I have had my own demons to fight in this life so I'm not placing myself above you. I just expected you to use the set to teach a deep philosophical principle. I definitely didn't get the message you just stated and do not see how I could have. Perhaps I missed something.

  • @VoxStoica

    @VoxStoica

    Thanks for the feedback, it's hard to know how things will be received until theyre performed. If you got a different message then I definitely wasn't clear enough in my routine. The intention was to act out an alter ego that had gone down the route of choosing to take offence, and viewing addiction as part of himself and so (reductio ad absurdum) arrived at the conclusion of accepting his heroin addiction.
