Standing Beneath Tasmania's Most Elusive Waterfall
In this series I set out to follow the 100 km route through Tasmanian South-West Wilderness that Sir John Franklin and his party traversed in 1842.
This expedition was of great historic importance to Tasmania and led to the naming of name streams, mountains and plains. After careful research I realised that while some of these features still remain, some are misplaced, and some have been simply lost to time.
This route was partly covered by a group of 6 from the Hobart Walking Club in 1953, using the Frenchmans Cap Walking Track they began their walk about 30km West of where the Franklins had started.
In this series I cover the whole length over a period of 9 days, starting at Lake St Clair and finishing at the Gordon River.
The episodes will each be 25 minutes long, and I am expecting to have 8 episodes released twice weekly, one every Wednesday and one every Sunday at 7:30PM AEST.
If you enjoy my content please support my channel. These trips cost a lot of money, which have all been paid for out of my own pocket. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can say this but I am absolutely swept along by this series. We are right there with you, Rob and I find myself caught up in the emotion of the effort and the experience you are giving us. That part of Tassie is awe inspiring and its an honour to be taken along on this adventure. Thank you, so much.

With heart of fearlessness and strength and clarity of mind, our brave adventurer marches on...
All I could see was that little leach making it’s way towards your neck. Tassie has some of the most magnificent landscape.
Rob that leech hopping towards your chin in the tent was killing us LoL, loved every minute of it mate.

Maybe do something like the one and only original Tom Cruse the Tasmanian Tom Cruse, not that other one...Pete from Devonport.... 🤠✌
You have lived more life in these trips, than most people do in a whole life. Well done.
Watching you carry a raft and paddle in one hand and the camera in the other while walking across mossy rocks.... so we could be there too. Nuts! Thanks Rob😅
When you get old you will relive all of this in your pain. wild man lucky you.
A century ago Robert Frost stood before a road diverging in a wood and in The Road Not Taken reminded us in 100 words of the magic of seeking out new adventures ending "I took the road less travelled by and that made all the difference" . Thanks Rob for showing us the same magic on a road only once travelled from Lake St Clair. Just magic !
It's become an addiction watching these, just as I'm sure your addiction is in documenting our state. Hopefully you get the recognition sooner than later. Whatever happens, your future kids are gonna be proud of their dad and his adventures! 🔮👍

Great series well done. Tassie bush has teeth. Not to be underestimated.
Just keeps getting better and better Rob. Absolutely amazing job.
You'll be one of only a few people alive to have stood on that White Hill Plains high point. Loved the lucky pop hole onto the river. That section of the Jane is one of the most beautiful pieces of river on this earth - lovely work.
You should be bloody proud of your efforts Rob. Even after 6 or 7 days solo, your motivation to film, commentate and document the journey is amazing! Thanks heaps for sharing with all of us mate 🙏🏼
As usual, beautiful scenery and superhuman stamina from you. What an amazing adventure you have taken us along with, thank you.
18:00 watching that leech crawl up your collar was so stressful. Brilliant videos though, love the effort you put in.

So happy for you man. I’m from Stanley but financial hardship forces to live in bloody Melbourne. I get so emotional ”in a good way” when I see footage of my home state. Thanx.
Your videos bring back such wonderful memories for me of some 35 years ago when I was much younger and fitter and able to walk through our beautiful state. I can almost smell it and living vicariously through your videos brings me joy so thank you so much Rob ❤

Amazing scenery Rob. Those Huon pines were almost fluorescent
So i see the terrain you hike and hardcore as it is it makes me wish l wasn't old and riddled with arthritis but when l saw the wet and cold you went through in this video with the leech climbing your collar to your neck as you sat in tent talking to the camera it sort of made me feel glad l am old and riddled with arthritis.
Fantastic scenery and great video Rob...Tasmania is hard to beat..
It's journeys like yours that invoke memories of our own past adventures and give feelings of our accomplishments. Crossing a knife edge in a fog @ 5000' or my first 100' rock face repel. You have that special ability.
That was fantastic mate...👍👍👌👌
Such a great series! We have absolutely loved it. Thank you so much for sharing. OMG watching that leech creep towards your face in the tent in the morning 🤢🤮I hate leeches

a cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
This trip has been an epic, Rob - what a gutsy effort to tackle it, let alone by yourself. Rafting down the Jane reminded me of the half dozen trips I did down the Franklin in the late eighties, early nineties. Beautiful countryside...
Wonderful trek, really enjoying the history and landscape, thanks so much for all your efforts in sharing this with us 👏👏
7:13 looks like it's from another era. WOW
