I'm stoked with the amount of research you do in regard to your hikes, and our correcting of historical mistakes need to be noted by historians or we are in danger of historical mistakes remaining in perpetuity, academics who unknowingly cite paragraphs with these mistakes also perpetuate the mistake. Rob, in a few of your vids you mentioned the Indigenous people and I applause you for that as it provides a rounded view and perspective with a richer narrative. Keep it up mate ...again you've given us front seats to stunning scenery and your more than a KZreadr, you're a educator as well. Cheers

This being the second episode in this reenactment I guess you might call it a trek you're doing Rob, The very one that Sir John Franklin in 1842 took in the South-West Wilderness area. I’ve read so much about aLot of the early settlers back in the 1800’s travelling around and through our great island state,but honestly rob you bring it more to life than reading any of the books. You are an inspiration.

Yep so many old trails down that way with history that could be remembered rather than forgotten if restored could also take the pressure off some of the states other tracks if done correctly.

The second was good as the first, that's what I enjoy about your adventures, they're consistent. Can you imagine getting through that trek with just an old map and compass. amazing.

Thanks, I try to keep it at a level im satisfied with. I made a rule this year im not making content for the sake of making content, I just want to keep putting good concepts together and leave the repetitive crap alone.

awesome vid mate. Am in Rosebery for past 3 years and the wilderness and what people achieved here astounds me. I love the Montezuma walk looking at the impossible terrain and imagining how they built the tramway through there...not to mention the venicular railway and mine at Williamsford. To visit here is great, to live here is extraordinary and life changing in ways people cannot imagine till they live it. I'm glad you touched on the Aboriginal presence here...not many people want to talk about it. Have been sensing out sacred sights as well .....follow the lines. BTW , it is my personal opinion that Tasmania is actually more a part of Antarctica than a part of mainland Aus. You have done your research and present well mate. More please !

Another great video Rob. My partner and I once stumbled across some Aboriginal cave paintings in Davies Creek National Park on the Cairns Hinterland. Cave artworks are known in the area, but this was off the beaten track. It was an amazing feeling, sitting there knowing they were hundreds if not thousands of years old, just you and the paintings. There were paintings of animals and stick people hunting and gathering, plus an albino wallaby. I didn’t take any pictures or videos because I thought it would be more respectful to leave it as it always was. I’ll never forget that day.

Part of the problem is the landscape no longer appears like it did when indigenous people burnt it regularly. Don't take this as an aboriginals or indigenous perspective because I'm only 4 gen originally Irish Aussie but I feel like that's part of the issues of retracting older explorers tracks...love ur vids man boing down the rob Parsons rabbit hole lately haha love it mate

Couldn't agree more about Calders Lookout - cut out some of the old tracks and tramways and introduce a bit of interpretation and then reintroduce people to the bush with what we already have, overgrown tracks.

that was another great day. i got very tired as we pushed through that energy-sapping tee tree scrub. Had thought about those Aboriginal paintings being different. Could the style be altered a bit by escaped convicts living with them? I had better get some sleep to get ready for the next stage of the trip. I hope we don't encounter any horizontal scrub. That would defeat my olde bones.

Rest up because in the next episode we have to endure massive forests of horizontal. The shoulders will ache from the bag pulling on them as we duck and weave under each prison bar for miles.

To be fair to PWS it's a tricky path between public engagement and keeping something for easily disturbed species. The consistent conservation message is that a lot of paths (like a lot of roads) causes problems. Great series though, especially the historical stuff. With limited wild space we have to learn to get more out of less in ways like this.

No crater just a sheltered nook that game could be cornered in. perfect hunting ground.

How good would it be to get a group of folks together and clear that track again, get the indigenous community involved to reconvene with their burns, and have it accessible for adventurers. I'd be in with that. Kinda like the hut preservation society.

I wonder if that stringy bark had been used by the aboriginals as it had been barked , maybe for shelter

The huts were made from the stingy bark tree. The aboriginals used stringy bark to carry fire around and also made sea kayaks with it. Pretty resourceful.

I did a search to see where you went via trailer boat to search for cave in earlier dvd.. Easy with Windyty page/web and laptop ..Think I got it right ,I have done lot of offshore miles on a boat with charts
