Clip of my Cylon Centurion Halloween costume (Battlestar Galactica). It took several takes for me to get my movements to not look visibly nervous, because I could see very little beneath me. I only had the slits in the mouth grille to see where I was putting my feet, and the legs of the costume were themselves causing problems: They have this slightly bent-knee effect to them that makes the knee joint jut forward a lot, which meant that I essentially had to climb the stairs on tip-toe to avoid scraping the shin plates on the next step.
The metallic sound effects are the noises centurions make in the show, in this case clipped from the U-87 in the prequel series Caprica which makes the same noises. I'm not savvy enough to do that thing where you isolate sound effects using surround sound mixes, so I just had to scour scenes until I found moments here and there where the movement sound effects had no dialogue or music covering them.

'Why is this letterboxed instead of being the proper aspect ratio?' *I'm glad you asked!* Something KZread users who only consume content instead of posting might not know is how KZread Shorts work: One of the reasons they are so prevalent is because KZread foists them upon us whether we like it or not: Any video in a less than horizontal aspect ratio that's under one minute will be converted into a KZread Short, with no way to turn it back. This would have been incredibly annoying on its own, because I find KZread shorts awkward to navigate, but what made it worse is this actually ruined a 360 panoramic video I was trying to make. KZread automatically tried to turn it into a KZread short, and in so doing completely messed up the 3D effect. I had to spend additional hours after the video was complete, just figuring out a way to work around the system and get my 360 video to run properly. I resent the fact that I needed to look for exploits in this website to get it to allow one of its own features to work. And so, I vowed from that day forward never to let KZread shoehorn one of my videos into a Short ever again. To achieve this, this video is a couple pixels wider than it is tall, the minimum amount of letterboxing needed to avoid being converted. Any vertical videos on my channel will be letterboxed in this way unless they make KZread Shorts an optional feature.

The grinding movement sound is overdubbed in editing (more on that in the video description), and the repeating warbling noise is incorporated into the actual costume with a speaker in the back.

Hanging on a display stand I built, in too deteriorated a condition to be worn again. It’s been over two years since I made what I announced to be my final video on that project, and yet it still seems like a chunk of my audience is only here so they can wait for more. It’s pretty demoralizing, I’ll be honest: This Cylon costume is what I currently consider my best work, leagues ahead of Withered Bonnie in every way, and within a few minutes of uploading, here I am already seeing people reject it.
