    i had always great result from stair and hill work. I think it's smart to do stairs/hills instead of lifting. So no lifting. But some stair/hill sprints and mostly acceleration, max v work.

    Yeah as someone with achilles tendonitis and patella tendonitis, stsir sprints cause me NO pain at all in those tendons at all. Neither do steep hills.

    How much volume and reps though? Nobody ever talks about number of steps and reps up stiars. Only he obvious - that they're good for you.

    Thanks for this! In return I give you this prescription for tremendous speed. And it goes a little like this: 1, do asian squat and grab something that is about 50 cm high and behind you that can be used to push you lower (this will help jumping higher) 2, once you manage to get really low, place the elbows against your groin, do the "performance mudra" with your hands and push the knees apart (the support from behind is still there when the change in arm activity) 3, run with narrow arms and legs. Tuck your chin in. Ps no joke

    Do you think the GCT would be similar without the weight vest?

  • @ATHLETE.X

    @ATHLETE.X

    9 ай бұрын

    I’m sure it’s different but I’ll have to test it out. My guess would be shorter GCT than weighted but longer than late Accel/top speed GCTs and similar to early acceleration GCTs

    @elijahebbert6884 yeah I’d do 1 them for a cycle (2 if it’s really early like august) with another day being the Accel complexes and then start shifting more toward traditional sprint work.

    @@ATHLETE.X Got it, I'll probably phase them in after indoors too so I can let my body deload from the more stressful work. Thanks Cody.

    Be careful with weight vests. Start gently and with a just few kgs. After your first session wait 24 hours to see if any delayed onset muscle stress occurred. Also be careful with hills, it stretches your calves more, as I discovered myself!
