"It was the summer of eighty-seven. My pardners and me were ridin' the coach across the desert. All of a sudden the monster appeared. I got to the turret and gave the critter the whole nine yards. I knew we was toast but by some miracle the almighty guided my trigger finger and I nailed the beast right between the eyes. As he hit the dust all I could think to say was: bye, son!"

This continues to be such a rad little world you’re creating. Also if you’re ever painting horses again, you should try darkening their lower legs. A bit of a gradient from around the knee down really helps with that bay coat and a lot of other patterns. Great work as always man!

I like to think of the Bison monster you've made as this sort of Bison minotaur-variant, specific to North America. It's larger, hardier, and sturdier thanks to its more hairy coat of fur. And its more ferocious than its western counterparts across the the Atlantic, as it wanders the plains looking for its next meal. They are mostly solitary omnivores, and to add more fuel to that nightmare, its faster too. Hence the reason why it can keep pace with a wagon designed to chase down medium-sized monsters, and why it doesn't flinch at the rounds going into it. My take on this particular moment in your Wild-West-Monsterverse.

I've always had a fascination with stagecoaches, and the wild west in general. There's something almost romantic about the rustic look of a stagecoach and the image of it being pulled along a barren landscape by a load of horses. Thanks for posting this, you did a great job making it look like more than just an old stagecoach.

I love the addition of the beastalo to the imaginary west. It makes me wonder what else is out there. Are they edible? Do people flee from them? Crossing the plains must be difficult with them around. Are there herds? Are the sentient? O.o so many. It's great, man. There are so many stories waiting to be told. And it feels like each of your dioramas gives you a picture frozen in the timeline of these characters and places. It's amazing. Cheers!

When I was a kid, I got into Warhammer. Not for the tabletop play but for the figurines and the painting. They were so expensive and I wasn't very good at it. One day my step dad handed me a bunch of green and tan army guys. Barely over a dollar or so. He told me to "do that thing with the paint and let me see what you got". Some of those ended up so nice. This brought back the memory. Fun times. I bet if I dug in some old box in storage I probably have either Warhammer, Army guys or both. Not all of them. But I bet they're in there.
