This week, I built my first 1:35 scale diorama set in the Wild Imaginary West. I wanted to go into a little more detail, not only on the character, but on a bit of the history of the Wild Imaginary West as well.
Inspiration for this build was Oliver Spaeth:

Boylei, you have revealed yet another talent in this diorama, your ability as an artist. I want to commend you for the way in which you are stewarding the gifts that you have. Keep it up!
I can’t decide what I love more the horse and rider or that background 💜 Shout out to grandma indeed! Looks freaking awesome
Love how the background came out, and particularly the added depth; it's really cool to see a little slice like this that lets us feel like the Wild Imaginary West is just over the horizon!
Please, please, please do more videos like these. I wanna hear more about the story of your world, and I love the balance between that and you explaining your process
What a good start to a Sunday 🙂

Curious to know how the native Americans dealt with the monsters. What tricks or tech did they use to avoid or deal with them? Love that you're expanding the lore.

they sat down and had a chat with them i reckon
This is outstanding. So much character in this piece. And I loved hearing the lore of the imaginary wild west. Such a unique world you have built.
Red Dead Redemption 2 inspired me to get back into miniature painting and dioramas, and I like worlds that are a little more weird than west, so you can imagine how much I love your universe and all the bits of lore you tell us about. Everything about this piece is gorgeous.
I love the prosthetic on the horse. And the background really adds so much to the figure! Great work as always

As long as you don't think too hard about it, the prosthetic is really cool. Doesn't really make sense if you do, though

I pity the horse's spine.
@earlware4322
Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPage68 No worries, the rider opted for the spine augmentation when he had to have that rear leg replaced. Besides, the device doesn't weigh all that much seeing as its mostly magnetic coils enveloping special crystals. Thus causing a sub-audible noise that only monsters can hear which repels them without harming other wildlife. (...or so I have been told. 😀)
Your painting skills are epic. All props to your grandma for her teaching skills!
Bless your Grandma for giving you such a rewarding gift. This was such an amazing video, I'm blown away by the backdrop blending so perfectly with the figure. Once again, amazing work!!! Thank you!!!

Shout out to Grandma Hobby Time, wherever she may be
This is peak art, truly outstanding, this is my favorite piece in this amazing universe you are literally building. Would love to see some more of the natives and mexicans perhaps? But this is shaping up so well, props to you man
Not only do you make amazing dioramas, but you're world building and story telling are incredibly entertaining!
I always love seeing new videos here. You are a huge inspiration to try my own dioramas.
The paint scheme almost has a disco Elysium style vibe, love it!

I thought the exact same thing! Especially the colors used to paint the face
Beautiful background painting! I always love it when you post. The story time and the builds are equally enjoyable. Your editing and shot choices make watching your creations come to life so fun. And the growing lore of the Wild Imaginary West is simple, fun and easy to follow. It's refreshing to see some mini worldbuilding that's not war or wizards.
The saturation levels between the model and the background are such a good match, that when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a painting 👍
this is probably my favourite yet, the back drop is gorgeous
The story of your universe so far is just so awesome! Let us know when Netflix or Amazon reach out for a series!
To put into words what i hope this world and setting become is beyond me. A book, a game, a show, a movie I want it all. PLEASE keep this coming!
I always love the creativity and imagination you have. This is how Steampunk Wild Wild West should be!
I think it would have been cool if the top antenna had a blinking beacon light at the top. That said I absolutely love this one. I am very impressed with your use of color to fake the lighting at different times of day. You're doing some amazing work in all areas of this creation. Your background painting is top notch and all of the creative additions and changes to the model are first rate. This is a super cool base. It is fun seeing how many disciplines you have in your arsenal; 3D printing, scratch building, kit bashing, painting, etc. Amazing work as usual. Have you seen the artist, Shaun Keenan that mixes wild west with dinosaurs? I think your world mixed with his dinos mixed in would be so cool.
Absolutely fantastic my friend. The techniques and story just get better and better!
The mechanical leg was a master stroke, I'm digging this world you're creating.
Boylei, this is BEAUTIFUL! The backdrop is gorgeous
Amazing! Loved learning more about the back story of the wild imaginary west, can't wait for more!
Amazing project. One of your best. So great to see your painting skills. You are an amazing artist and truly an inspiration.
I love the lore and backstory! It makes the series so much richer.
For me, this diorama is one of your most creative piece so far.
Love these larger scale vignettes. You need to do more of them!
The backround... the horse... the composition... it's all awesome 💜
This is probably the most satisfying build to date. That backdrop alone was a treat to watch come to life! Awesome work, once again, my friend. God bless.
That painting talent!!!! Every addition to the WIW never fails to impress!
Amazing work Boylei! The back drop and NMM leg both turned out fantastic - can't wait to hear more about this world
Amazing artwork! Love the Wild Imaginary West. Good job Grandma, she taught you well.
Truly beautiful diorama I love this setting and its inspired me to make a world of my own I wish I could be half as good as you
That's just AMAZING. INCREDIBLE !! I can't imagine if a series or a game in this univers would looks like
"And as always when somebody leads the way the people are sure to follow.." you're a great inspiration and creator and feel you've helped me push myself further in my model making endeavors
This is great! Your background is nothing less than impressive, but your rider and his cyborg steed really stands out! I hope you will make more 1/35 scale additions to your Wild Imaginary West in the future. Thanks for posting this! And a big shout-out to Master Box for producing this (and many other) imaginative figure kits!
Superbly done video! The project, narration and choice of music were all fantastic. Maybe one of your best videos, in my opinion. See you next Sunday!
Simple build, but this video is one of my favorites. The storytelling element is incredible and i hope you keep incorporating it in future videos!
This is beautiful! I would love to see you do more like this. Also, some larger mechs in this scale would be fantastic!
Dude. You're blessed with some amazing talent. I also appreciate how you depict the West. Not just the western genre, but the American West. It's home.
I think this is the best base yet with the way the painted backdrop meets up with the realistic rocks.
I love your storytelling, I can’t wait to hear more about the Wild Imaginary West!
Honestly your videos are what originally got me into hobby making and right now I love painting minis with my dad thank you for getting me into miniatures!
There is no human like you in this world! Amazing work like always!
I normally prefer the more small scale builds, but I really liked the way you did this one in the larger scale. I love your imaginary wild west setting and all the lore you have developed for it over the course of these builds. Can't wait to hear and see more, but specifically, we have yet to see the military in this setting. You have mentioned them a scant few times, and I get more and more intrigued about what you think they might be and look like in this world you have made. You've also mentioned maybe making another working train diorama... perhaps a military train :) Keep making these and keep just having fun making all your other dioramas and I am certain you will have a lifetime viewer :)
I’m always amazed by how natural your rockwork looks. It feels plausible and naturalistic, never staged or contrived. It really sells the setting. And I’ll admit, my heart warmed seeing the horse with that prosthetic limb. Shows they’re not just a tool to their rider, they’re a beloved companion. 💕
Dude you are truly gifted with a creative mind and true talent. Your videos no matter how long or short are simply outstanding.
Amazing job as always. Really love the self contained diorama, you did so much with that little bit of space. Always phenomenal to watch you work.
Small dioramas, in my opinion, work so much better. Love this.
it's so refreshing to see someone tell their story and world through a series of diorama videos and more. keep up the great work
Everything about this just sings to my sense of aesthetics. Love this so very much.
Wow! Your best so far. The background is a piece of art, and the figure + horse are perfect 👍
The wild imagination west series is phenomenal and I’m so glad to see different scales for the models
This Wild Imaginary West feels a bit like that "Tales from the loop" show/artwork. Really cool stuff, amazing work!
If this guy had a museum, I WOULD VISIT!
So happy to be getting more lore! That background and rob leg are sick.
I'm a sucker for world building and it's always so fun hearing people enthusiastically sharing their world with others
Just discovered your channel. I love your dioramas and the backstory of the wild imaginary west 🧡 You`re really bringing the world to life.
Hands down, my favorite piece yet! The mix of realism and whimsy that mixes with the stunning painting and the smart move of having the terrain extend beyond the backdrop? You really outdid yourself.
Очень здорово наблюдать, как твоя вселенная становится все более проработанной и детальной! Успехов в дальнейшем развитии!!

That mechanical leg on the horse was amazing! And I loved the background painting. Absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad I found your channel, because you Wild Imaginary West is just so inspiring and exciting.
This is a really great build. I like the poor horse's cybernetic leg; it fits right in with this imaginary West. And the background is beautifully painted!
Every time I see one of these videos, I just want to see a movie, or tv show or even tabletop game based on your creation. I preach to my friends on how cool the imaginary west is and am just waiting for the deep lore so I can tell tales of my cowboys and monster hunters traversing your world. Please don't ever stop making these!
Yet another incredible piece and video, always love seeing another Imaginary West diorama, your traditional painting skills are off the charts that was shocking honestly! I think the Wild Imaginary West is a real genuine influence into why I am so excite for that game coming eventually, Nightingale. Victorian era aesthetics in a vast fey world, it reminds me of your setting so much.
Great work on this small but great diorama. Love to hear about the story of your wild west. And you had a great grandmother that taught you how to paint. Great work a always.
Beautiful backdrop painting, simple yet effective piece of storytelling.
Wild Imaginary West Videos are the best! Looking forward to your next building and another monster scene!
That painting in the background looks amazing, your grandma taught you well!
Excellent piece. And I love hoe this display is just small enough that he could live pretty much anywhere without requiring too much space. That backdrop came out amazing!
I watch your videos for the back story just as much as the modeling. Awesome as always!
I hope this comment reaches you. I just want you to know how much peace and comfort your videos bring me. Im naturally very high strung and have issues with anxiety. Your videos calm me down to the point of comfort and I cant express enough how awesome that is. Thank you for taking the time to make such great content!
I just finished binging through all your Imaginary Wild West videos, so I'm so excited to see one in real time!!
As a roleplayer, I'm intrigued by your Wild Imaginary West and look forward to learning more about it. And props to your grandmother indeed; my own maternal grandma was a handcrafter (mostly Christmas ornaments that my family still treasures) who passed that skill and love on to my mother and sister.
I wish we could have an open world game for your Imaginary Wild West world. I'd love to roam and explore every corner of it and fight and capture all the monsters too 😍😍😍
Wow,that is solo good! The paintjob on the rider, the horse and the base. The background picture you drew is amazing! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
This world is fun. Thanks for the entertaining story with all of the beautiful dioramas
The painting was amazing! Even I’m thankful for your grandma
Wow! Big shout out to your grandma, because that paint job is amazing! I love that you clean up your work space, too. Great video and thank you for giving us another wild imaginary west update.
Dude! THAT is a model to be proud of! The haze in the backdrop is a fantastic trick that i will definitely use.
Seriously you are one talented man. Builds amazing scenarios and also can paint amazing.
I'm speechless, each time I watch your videos. What an imaginary world you have... I love all of them 🤗
The lore you're building for this universe is just as good as the builds, and the builds make me want to run to my hobby desk week after week!
I really like how this one turned out, great work! I also liked the little lore section of the video where you explained about the world of the wild imaginary west, I'd love to hear more about it in the future.
This is my favorite piece in the IWW universe thus far. I’d love to see more of your landscape painting skills incorporated, very impressive.
I usually finish watching videos before I decide whether I should leave a like or not. Your videos though I get about half way through and then I just have to give it a thumbs up! I also really enjoy the back story that you've come up with and I'm looking forward to hearing more of it!
I am obsessed with this series and the dioramas you make for it. I need more lore in my life
This is undoubtedly some of the best work I have ever seen. Every element was executed beautifully. The backdrop gave it the feel of a museum display, which really added to the Wild Imaginary West vibe. This was stunning!
Dude, you could do a video, a whole freaking stream would be nice, just painting a scene and explaining this world and I'd take a day off just to watch it. I mean your painting is that on point, your grandma must have been amazing
The robotic horse leg is genius, looks amazing and is such a great detail!
Absolutely incredible! That background is awesome, and that scratch build robocalls horse leg is amazing!
So awesome to see Oliver Spaeth appearing on your channel. I have been following him from his massive voodoo days. Incredible painter. Thank you too for your awesome content. This was really well done.
Fantastic modelling, painting and world-building, as ever.
I knew your model building skills were way above. But the painting of the backdrop bring this one even better. Love your work.
I would love to see you make another one or two of these the individual characters bring it to life more I mean we have the towns and we have the monster hunters but to actually see the little people like that brings it to life more I love what you do with the horse and the background
Man, every single time I watch your videos... I watch the entire process, but I'm still stupefied by the end result. You are some kinda magician, sir.
Shout out to Grandma's, Boylei keep up the amazing work. Always enjoy your creations and the lore behind them. Everything should have a story...
