Even Super GMs are human. Last year Aronian managed to hang checkmate in 1in a tournament. GMs blunder too

@@HighlyCruciferous Yes, in the beginning he did say that, and he is not wrong about that either. But later he admitted that it actually poses some difficult questions that might not be easy to answer in a blitz game, even for a super GM like him.

That was brilliant. Levon is a top guy, and one of the greatest players of all time. So, to get a draw against him is pretty special. Well-played.

@@mohbw3 @Helium Ballon True, but he really only used it once to find the Qf2 move, which he saw lead to the check on e1, forcing the king into the open. Idk that he would have considered this move without it being suggested to him as a top move. His prior moves were all part of his preparation.

Levon is such a class act. Watching him play with Yasser is such a treat because they're so calm and jovial towards each other.

Hey Eric, next time please consider changing the board layout on the screen. Black pieces on dark squares are very hard to see, especially on phones. Love your content.

Is there an assist mode that only highlights blunders? I think that'd be nice to give to when facing a lower rated opponent (a child for instance) where they could avoid obvious mistakes but don't get to just "touch every piece and pick a green move".

Yes - it has 6 different levels, from legal moves (level 1), blunders are red / rest is green (level 2), up to level 6 (only best move is green). The more advanced the player, the more advanced the assistance.

Thats pretty unreal that he fell straight into one of the main lines you were so familiar with. After watching Adhiban invent a counter gambit to the Stafford on the spot, I imagined most GMs would have counters prepared.

Since the Stafford isn't played at his level he probably isn't that familiar with it.

@@worsethanjoerogan8061 yeah they just recognize blacks attacking patterns that are incoming, it's easy to find an only move sometimes but that's what makes this opening so tricky. A lot of options for black at any moment

That’s crazy. I’m pretty sure the reason why qe2 is better than qd2 is b/c black can actually take the pawn on g3, take the rook, and then win back the queen
