SSRIs and SNRIs (Psychiatry) (Pharmacology) - USMLE Step 1

Hey Everyone!
Thank you for watching our video about medical school! If you enjoyed our medical school videos, please leave a comment below, like our videos, and please SUBSCRIBE to the channel!
About Us:
Mad Medicine was started to talk about many aspects of medicine, from medical school and premed, to nursing, PA, NP and much, much more. On our channel, we sit down and talk about relevant medical topics, issues that many medical professionals are facing, ways to be successful through your education and career, and (again) much, much more.
We started this channel as medical students in medical school in order to help premeds get into the medical schools of their choice. Whether you want to got to medical school in Harvard, or to a local medical school, we try to provide you with the best video content that will help you achieve your goal. Our medical school trips to become a medical student have to pertain to questions such as, "Do you need research for medical school?", "Is Clinical Experience required for medical school" and much much more. Along with medical school tips and tricks, we also plan to provide you guys with videos that have to do with medical school requirements, medical school rankings, how to be a medical student, as well as fun (yet informative) sessions. Who knows, maybe we will even do medical school and medical student vlogs one day!
We are always looking for ways to grow our channel so if you ever have any ideas or want us to talk about specific topics, or heck, even if you have a guest you want us to talk to, leave a comment below! Thank you for the support!

    I remember Duloxetine as ‘Dual’oxetine. Dual - both NE and serotonin reuptake inhibitor

    This was great video, very clear. Having experienced both SSRI & SNRI, I would really like to understand why when coming off Veneflaxine (and doing slowly) is like hell on earth? SSRI are a walk in the park by comparison. It has helped me tremendously, will remain on it but at a lower dose....anyway point is would you consider a video on the withdrawal effects. As it is impossible to get others to understand & the quality of videos I have seen are not that good.... so if you do request please take that one down. If you don't then just keep up the good work.

    you didn't include NDRI's in the antidepressant category bro or noradrenergic agents. Bupropion is pretty lit homie and I hypothesize that it's way more effective for non anxious depression and has way less side effects or at least less serious ones.

    Someone with the NPD aging out needs a daily menu of various SSRIs. With a glass of red wine and a trazodone for a night cap. To treat anxiety and depression with a narcissist you have to treat them as a haunted house….. smooth over the complex Trauma

    Could being on a high dose of methadone cause an antidepressant to not ever start working somehow? Zoloft and Wellbutrin in particular..

    Thank you for this very educational video Can Sertraline can show on blood or urine test?

  • @jaxonvictoria4345

    @jaxonvictoria4345

    It will most likely show up more in the blood than urine. Sertraline is formed into a renally-excreted by-product that may or may be traceable by analyses. The half-life of sertraline is about 22-36 hours, so it’ll be mostly gone in your body (on average) in about 5-6 days.

    I've been prescribed five different antidepressants in the past six months. Every single one has caused extreme sedation and intoxication and the last time I took one I had a fit, blacked out and finally my doctor has realised that medication is very bad for me. I don't even know what I was being treated for as I have Asperger's syndrome and there is no such thing as medication of autism.

    Hmm… I wonder why, also. It’s a shame there’s not ANY type of medication for ASD, considering how many people with major symptoms suffer throughout life.

    Very unfortunate name for your channel, certainly insensitive and does nothing for reducing the stigma of mental illness. I know for a fact you would have problems with the professional ethics department of professional bodies here in the Uk. As someone with over 40years in psychiatry it’s a shame.
