Except for it's slightly hard edged transient charicter and siblant, sizzly treble, this speakers tonal balance is more accurate to me overall than either the Evo 4.2 or the Dali Oberon, but that doesn't make it a speaker I would love to own. I think this amp has fairly good symetry with it, and at least doesn't make matters worse.

I remember this speaker getting whooped real bad by the 12.2s in the older vids. Made it sound like a 20 dollar bluetooth speaker. LMFAO!

I would LOVE to try out the PSB brand 10-inch home subwoofer, but it's so frick'n expensive! $599!

@@-MarkWinston- Yeah it's so frustrating they never ever seem to go on sale (the PSB's). I have looked into the Monolith and still somewhat considering it, however the one I REALLY REALLY want is the RSL 10-inch speedwoofer, it's only $429 (I think), which gets RAAAAAVE reviews, the problem is that it's ALWAYS sold out! (And it's dimensions are perfect too...not too big!)

@@DougMen1 the reference series has always been darker sounding, the R isnt far behind in terms of darkness. The LS50M on the other hand is nowhere near dark. After looking at the white papers provided by kef for the new Metas and doing a comparison with the old ones, the new Metas (reference) is going to be more normal sounding. KEF is heading back to neutral, we can see this when they flattened out the bumped FR of the OG LS50 with the LS50M, now they are lifting the slopped treble of the old reference series with the new ones.

@@DougMen1 the weird thing about the R3 is its dark not because of the rolled off top end, rather it sounds bright in certain areas making other areas next to it sound dark. Its a very weird sensation, but very apparent when compared to next to a Meta. The R3 also has a more closed in (trapped) sound, the Meta is much more spatial and open sounding. Maybe the R3 is not as balanced as it people think it should be, there is just something not right sounding about it but I cant pinpoint what.

R202 and P5 are not a good pairing IMO. with the R202 it has no treble, a normal midrange and a slow bass. unfortunately the R202 doesn't help you determine what a speaker can do ...

@@pratapaashu The Audiolab 6000a or the Rega Brio, also tested on this channel, are much better but unfortunately more expensive amplifiers. a budget solution would be the Yamaha A-S301 or A-S501 or the NAD C316BEE V2. the 501 has a more controlled and restrained bass transmission, it's a matter of personal taste who likes which one, you should listen to them together if you can. if not, you must use the return option of the online purchase.
