Salute ma"am, The EV infrastructure in my city Kozhikode is very good considering many challenges the government faces. I always enjoyed the smooth EV auto rides. I make sure to nab the blue autos inspite of my wife and son's pressure to take anything that come first. Great to see public making this transition very quickly. But there is a catch, now they say EV are bigger polluters as the brakes discharge dangerous particles in the atmosphere due to high weight to power ratio. That is a larger debate. Coming to the mileage, the newer Chinese manufacturers like BYD( watch out for this one) and Korean KIA, Hyundai can run more than 500 kms on a single charge. Technological advances are happening at a rapid pace, lithium replaced by sodium ion batteries and cars that can run more than 1000 kms on a single charge and rapid charging is not far away. Japanese have no liking for EVs and are on the verge of commercializing hydrogen combustion engines( not fuel cell). Even TATA have tied up with Cummins to manufacture hydrogen combustion engines. The Hydrogen based economy is not far.

Our govt schools are yet to get equipped with proper cooling or heating systems or providing proper lighting... majority of our highways and public roads are not lit. But we are talking about ev cars which is not 100pc eco friendly and not sustainable as well...

2016-17 -ൽ ഞാൻ KSEB യിൽ CE ആയിരുന്ന കാലത്ത് 6- ഇല; കാർ വാങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

ഇലക്ട്രിക് കാർ നിലവിൽ യൂസർന്റെ കൈ പൊള്ളിക്കും ഏതാണ്ട് 6-7 കൊല്ലം കഴിഞ്ഞു ബാറ്ററി മാറേണ്ടി വരും 6-7 കൊല്ലം കഴിഞ്ഞു വരുന്ന ഡെപ്രിസിയേഷൻ കൂടി കണക്കു കൂട്ടുമ്പോൾ ആ വാഹനത്തിന് എന്ത് വില കിട്ടും അതിൽ കൂടുതൽ ആകും പുതിയ ബാറ്ററിക്കു വില, ഒരു 10 ലക്ഷം വില വരുന്ന ഒരു കാർ മേടിച്ചാൽ അതിന്റർ ബാറ്ററ്റി വഅറന്റി പീരിയഡ് കഴിഞ്ഞു 1.5-2 ലക്ഷതിന് ഏങ്കിലും കിട്ടണം

Madam; much moved by your frank revelations; The EV implementation naturally faced many initial hiccups; the lopsided policies of the govt also has contributed much to the confusion; still implementation has to evolve much. !, The charging points should be pay and charge; a small meter can do the trick to collect fees digitally. 2, The recent trend is hybrid vehicles that has a small generator that is activated when battery falls low; this enables the user to forget about 'range anxiety' (compelled to tow due to less charge). 3, Car maker Toyota is all for hybrids that brings benefits of both petrol and EV.

Global warming and climate change, now we are experience both of this now.

The westerners are masters of marketing and we blindly jump to follow them without actually understanding the merits and demerits. In india 75% of electricity is produced from thermal plants using coal as fuel. So on one side we burn coal to produce electricity and run electric cars saying they are green. Plus the increased use of batteries are extremely polluting to the environment. Not only their manufacturing but also their disposal is more polluting to the environment. Flights from all over the world carry world leaders who attend global warming conferences. Isn't that an irony?.

I am strongly against EVs.. The following are the reasons: 1. EVs will help Green house gas emissions ONLY if the energy used for charging is generated from renewable sources. It is not the case in Kerala. 2. The carbon emissions for producing EVs are much higher than Internal Combustion engines. It takes several tens of thousand of kms to even break-even the additional manufacturing carbon impact. 3. EVs will never get ROI. Initial investment is much higher.. Maintenance cost on battery is very high. Also resale value is very low. 4. Maintenance of EVs are very challenging. Most manufacturers are start-ups and they disappear from business once they sell good volume of vehicles. Owners will have to sell the vehicles for scrap if it run into issues and dealer is out of business. 5. Our electricity grid in Kerala will not support for a major EV transition. We don't have surplus energy in our state. 6. Petty polititians encourage the EV transition for government agencies just to earn its sales commission from manufacturers and dealers. That is clear and irreponsible misuse of tax-payer funds. 7. EV transition is failing in most developed countries. No body want to buy EVs because of all these reasons. 8. EVs are not practical vehicles for most of our normal usecases. The intermittent charging is impractical in between long rides. 9. EV range is much lower than advertized numbers. Also it will significant drop down after the initial year.

EV സ്കൂട്ടർ ഇറങ്ങിയ ആ കാലത്ത് ഞാൻ ഒരു സ്കൂട്ടർ എടുത്തു. 35000 രൂപ ആയി. നാലു കൊല്ലം ഉപയോഗിച്ചു. ബാറ്ററി യുടെ ആയുസ് തീർന്നു. പകരം ബാറ്ററി അന്ന് അവൈലബിൾ അല്ലായിരുന്നു. ആക്രിക്ക് കൊടുത്തു 250 രൂപ കിട്ടി. നാലു ബാറ്ററിക്ക് ആയിരം രൂപയോളം കിട്ടി.

ക്ലൈമറ്റ് ചേഞ്ച്‌ ഒരു പ്രഹസനം ആണെന്ന് ഉള്ള മാഡത്തിന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തോടെ വിയോജിപ്പ് ആണ് നമ്മുടെ കേരളത്തിൽ തന്നെ നോക്കു എന്റെ ബാല്യത്തിൽ (70 കളിൽ ) എക്കെ ഡിസംബർ ജനുവരി നല്ല തണുപ്പ് ആണ് ഇപ്പൊ ജനുവരി എങ്ങനെ ആണ് 30 നു മുകളിൽ ആണ് ചൂട് അതെ പോലെ മഴ മഴയുടെ ഷെഡ്യൂൾ തന്നെ മാറി ഒറ്റയടിക്ക് വലിയ മഴ അതായത് മഴ ദിനങ്ങൾ കുറഞ്ഞു പക്ഷെ മഴ തീവ്രത ഉള്ള ദിനങ്ങൾ കൂടി ഞാൻ 33 കൊല്ലം ഒമാനിൽ ആയിരുന്നു ആദ്യം ചെന്നത് 90 ൽ ഏതാണ്ട് ഡിസംബർ തൊട്ടു അവിടെ നല്ല തണുപ്പ് ആണ് ഫെബ്രുവരി വരെ നല്ല രീതിയിൽ തണുപ്പ് ഒക്ടോബർ, നവംബർ , മാർച്ച്‌ എക്കെ നല്ല സുഖം ഉള്ള കാലാവസ്ഥ ഇന്നോ ഏതാണ്ട് 6-7 കൊല്ലം ആയി ഞങ്ങൾ കൊല്ലത്തിൽ 10 മാസം വരെ ac ഇടേണ്ടി വരുന്നു ജനുവരി അല്പം തണുപ്പ് കാണും അത്ര മാത്രം വലിയ മാറ്റം ആണ് ക്ലൈമറ്റ്ൽ

നിങ്ങൾ അങ്ങനെ കരുതിയാൽ അതുപോലെയ തോന്നൂ.. എനിക്ക് കാലാവസ്ഥയിലെ മറ്റം മനുഷ്യന്റെ കുഴപ്പങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാകുന്നതാണെന്നാണ് തോന്നുന്നത്. വയലുകൾ, നെൽകൃഷി, വെള്ളക്കെട്ടുകൾ, നിലങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായി. ഒപ്പം മരങ്ങളും. Concrete jungle ൽ താമസിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ് കാലാവസ്ഥ ഇങ്ങനെ

Expert ആയിട്ടുള്ള താങ്കൾ ശരിയായി ധരിപ്പിച്ചോളൂ. അതിന് ആരുടെയും അനുവാദം വേണ്ടല്ലോ?

ഈ വി വണ്ടി പോകുമ്പോൾ ഒരു ജനറേറ്റർ കൂടെ കരുതിയാൽ മതിയല്ലോ. 200 കിലോമീറ്റർ ഓടുന്ന വണ്ടി ആണെങ്കിൽ 100 കിലോമീറ്റർ ഓടിയാൽ തന്നെ പിന്നെ വണ്ടി 15 20 കിലോമീറ്റർ താഴെ മാത്രമേ ഓടുകയുള്ളൂ. മേടംധരിച ബുട്ടിന്റെ കാൽപ്പാടുകൾ ഒരു പ്രതിയെന്ന് ധരിക്കുന്നവന്റെ നെഞ്ചത്ത് ഇപ്പോഴും കാണുന്നു എന്ന് വായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
