The scale of London really is striking in IL-2, neck and neck with New York as largest city in the world back then. Glad the dev's really show off its size in it.

Only time I knock em out is if I can light up an engine.

Your closing speed is much too high which doesn't allow you to get enough rounds on target. Slow down.

The dedication to the realities of the time; such as no RAF pilot knows how to shoot, how they spent 99% of their time not attacking the bombers, how no-one intercepts before the bombers reach their target, it's honestly amazing. Congratulations. ;-)

How could any of those He 111 bombers bomb anything with any accuracy flying like they do in Cliffs of Dover. They would have flown straight and level and altogether to benefit their chances of survival from defensive fire.

Ere' where has Dagenham gone? its not there, IL2 shows it as fields.... it was all built out before the war, it should be there behind the Ford factory.

I'm thinking about getting this game.... but I dont have a very graphics intensive computer. Does this game have settings that reduce the graphics a lot?

theProcrastinatingApple you could use a lesser resolution like 800 x 600, and reduce some settings...but I can’t guarantee results as every system is different.

Yeh I like a lot of the planes in it, I should play it more.

...it seems as if spits and hurricanes are paint strippers.....with those .303s you are lucky to have the gun load of three planes take down a bomber......

Everyone always says this to sound clever, but (1) .303’s shot down more aircraft in the Battle of Britain; (2) Each aircraft had eight of them, concentrated on a small area; (3) Most successful fighter attacks took place at close range and; (4) German aircraft had plenty of soft, vulnerable spots for 8x 303s to still rip apart. These weren’t flying tanks with 10cm thick armour all over. I mean, if we left history to people who just get a few fun throwaway factoids off the Discovery Channel to impress KZread with then you’d be given the impression the Luftwaffe won and RAF bullets just pinged off. Eyeroll

Another thing I noticed, after shooting at an enemy plane up close the pilot then passes the enemy still close up making himself a lovely target for the front gunner! Wouldn't last two minutes with those tactics!
