Thats a Stuka from Stab II/Stukageschwader 2. You can tell from the 'Der Bamburger Reiter' emblem on the plane. At one time commanded by Hans Ulrich Rudel himself. Great video...thanks for putting it up.

The Ju 87-D3 was one of my favorite model kits as a kid, still think it is one of the finer looking aircraft of WWII. Graphics where great in this! Thanks

Tastefully done example of using the right tool for the right job. Saw this when new and it's still fresh and impressive. A belated Bravo Zulu, Zetexy. This also made me think... So that's what they mean when they say the Luftwaffe was designed primarily to support the army.

This is great - a real sense of local action, awesome footage and it very much reminds me of what a coop campaign 3 of us were flying (in Ju-87Gs in the original IL2) a couple years back. Great work, love the taxiing scenes especially - so frick'n realistic. Looking forward to getting back to the new IL2, in VR. Gonna be crazy.

The Stuka, Ju87, an elegant and beautiful looking aircraft. Outdated by 1940 by advanced faster Allied fighters. Still, it's graceful, although rather bizarre, design is still something to behold. The physics in this clip are very robust. The graphics are great. Splendid clip sir.

The thing was, the aircraft was initially American's but they Americans switch to another design. The Germans still kept this design and call it Junkers Ju-87, with their own modifications such as automatic dive brakes and addition of their own Jericho trumpets to scare their enemies with the loud wails.

Одновременно с новым вариантом бронированного "хеншеля" в испытательный центр в Рехлине поступили и три Ju87D-3, главной особенностью которых являлась установка под крылом двух 37-мм пушек Flak 18. Вместе с магазинами на 12 снарядов они крепились под крылом сразу за стойками шасси. В контейнерном варианте пушка Flak 18 обозначалась как ВК 3,7 (Bord Kannone 3,7 см). Длинноствольное зенитное орудие с начальной скоростью подкалиберного снаряда более 1000 м/ с пробивало бортовую броню не только американских и английских танков, но и "тридцатьчетверок". Контейнеры для пушек весом более 300 кг были легкосъемными и взаимозаменяемыми с обычными бомбодержателями. Крыльевые пулеметы и бомбовое вооружение отсутствовали. Бронирование самолета было ослаблено. В отличие от стандартного Ju87D-3 на противотанковом "юнкерсе" отсутствовало бронирование стрелка, центропланных бензобаков и водорадиатора. Толщина задней бронеспинки летчика была увеличена до 20 мм. В остальном бронирование машины осталось без изменений. Штурмовик получил обозначение Ju87G-1. На испытаниях Ju87G-1 показал себя медлительным и очень неповоротливым, что в сочетании с уменьшенным бронированием и слабым оборонительным вооружением делало машину идеальной мишенью для истребителей. Максимальная скорость самолета снизилась на 30-40 км/ч. Ju87G-1 уже не пикировал (хотя на проходивших испытания опытных машинах имелись тормозные щитки), атака целей производилась с планирования под углами не более 10-12╟. Кроме этого, по показаниям пленных немецких летчиков ввод в планирование был затруднительным. Затруднительным было и прицеливание вследствие плохой путевой устойчивости самолета, обусловленной аэродинамическим влиянием пушечных установок, большими разнесенными массами (вес одной пушки с лафетом, без учета веса магазина и снарядов, 473 кг) и возросшим полетным весом. Пушки ВК 3.7 имели довольно невысокую скорострельность и низкую надежность автоматики. По немецким данным пушка имела скорострельность до 70 выстрелов в минуту. Однако по данным НИИ ВВС КА вследствие недоведенности автоматики пушки ее боевая скорострельность ограничивалась в среднем одним выстрелом в две секунды. Низкая же практическая скорострельность самих пушек приводила и к весьма ограниченному числу выстрелов (не более двух) в одной атаке. Положение усугублялось еще и сильной отдачей пушек при стрельбе в воздухе и спецификой размещения их на машине. Вследствие этих причин штурмовик испытывал сильный пикирующий момент и возникала раскачка самолета в продольной плоскости при стрельбе в воздухе. Удерживание линии визирования на цели во время стрельбы по наземным целям и ввод поправок в прицеливание было очень сложной задачей и практически невыполнимой. Поэтому прицельным мог быть только первый выстрел. В то же время подкалиберный снаряд к ВК 3.7, имея при стрельбе в воздухе начальную скорость около 1170 м/ с (по данным НИИ ВВС КА), с дистанции до 400 м мог пробить советскую танковую броню толщиной до 52 мм при угле встречи 0╟. Бронебойный снаряд из боекомплекта к этой пушке таким результатом похвастаться не мог - с 400 м при угле встречи 0╟ снаряд пробивал только 40-мм броню и "тридцатьчетверки" всех типов не поражались при атаках с любого направления... Казалось бы, Ju87G-1 - эффективное средство поражения советских "тридцатьчетверок". В действительности же все оказалось несколько иначе. Анализ схемы бронирования советского среднего танка Т-34-76 и возможностей немецкой пушки ВК 3.7 показывает, что при углах планирования Ju87G-1 около 5-10╟ подкалиберный снаряд к пушке мог пробить 52 мм броню башни "тридцатьчетверки" только при стрельбе с дистанции не более 180 м, а бортовую 40-мм броню - не более 400 м. Однако время ведения эффективной стрельбы составляло 1,3 сек и 4,4 сек соответственно (минимально допустимая высота для маневра на выводе 15-20 м, дистанция прекращения огня около 90 м). То есть "эффективным" при поражении башни мог быть лишь один снаряд, а при поражении борта - максимум два снаряда. Но попасть в уязвимые части танка, учитывая их малые площади, хотя бы и одним выстрелом, не так просто, как кажется. В то же время одного-двух попаданий с пробитием брони, как известно, не достаточно для надежного выведения танка из строя. Графика сойдёт, но не достоверно.

Да, все правильно. Этот самолет в этом симуляторе управляется очень сложно, чтобы снять этот ролик автору видео пришлось налетать несколько десятков часов. Поэтому здесь вы видите только самые удачные моменты, на самом деле процент попаданий очень низкий, самолет очень неустойчив по курсу в такой конфигурации, боеприпасов очень мало. На цель надо заходить издалека и снимать нагрузку с винта и достаточно сильно подруливать педалями чтобы получить попадание приблизительно туда, куда целишся. И в этом симуляторе сложно уничтожить Т-34 из ВК 3,7, модель повреждений достаточно сложная и учитывает все описаное вами. Автору видео посчасливилось попасть в уязвимое место первого танка, но второй танк вполне выдержал весь остаток. Этот самолет в такой конфигурации не имеет большой популярности в онлайн баталиях, слишком сложен в упрвлении, слишком тяжел и медлителен, шансов успешно выполнить задание и вернуться на аэродром мало. Не интересно игроку лететь 20-25 минут до цели, не попасть в нее 12-ю выстрелами и привлечь внимание истребителей. Думаю в реальности пилоту такой Штуки требовалось огромное везение в придачу к мастерству пилотирования.

Pretty cool although the Ju 87G model with the two 37 mm anti-tank guns hadn't been developed yet during the Battle of Stalingrad. Only a handful was available during Kursk in July '43. Still very cool!

I remember playing this when it first came out- 2003? graphics very turgid nice models. Being me and having played lots of RTS, thought I'd take the Focke Wolfe 190D up for a spin. Didn't realize that a good idea would have learnt the basics on a Trainer, any way after a lot of farting about, got the Kite airborne, tootled about, familiarising myself with controls completely lost as it was a Sea of Taiga to the horizon in every direction. Nothing on the clock except the Maker's name!!!Boom Boom. The Gunner was taking Astro Shots of the Stars etc, etc ( Bob Newhouse) got shot down, screen went black. Reloaded this time, took off tootled about and for some reason crashed and skidded on Landing. into a flight of 13 parked Focke Wolfe 190D's - parked on the hard shoulder to the side of the Airfield. I swear I heard German expletives!! and I never relaunched another Game from Il -2. Its now beautiful one of the best plane simulation Games ever designed. Guys you're going to need a PC with tons of Poke when things get busy Laptops will go crying home to Mummy even Alienware Shit or DellXPS Crap will meltor freeze!!!

Robert Vysther - Apparently only a relatively few hits were able to be recorded on tanks by the Stuka (Junkers 87) either dropping bombs or by it's cannon. The chances of a direct hit which it would require to knock out a T34 were very small - only about 5% of bombs ever got close enough to do damage let alone a direct hit and the same for cannon hits. Stukas would have to get so close they were likely to be shot down by the machine gun. Closer than 500m would evidently result in a 50% chance of a significant hit if they attacked from the front and they had to dive in a rather low angle to be able to pull up instead of diving into the ground to be within 500m of the tank which just meant the machine gun could target them effectively.

Pako Pako - What ? you can't argue with the figures in this case. I quote this information to support what I said. Luftwaffe had some 650 ground attack aircraft (Stukas, FW-190's etc) in Eastern Front before summer 1944. And even Fremde Ost estimated just 1 090 Soviet combat armor destroyed (or likely knocked out) by any Luftwaffe aircraft during whole year 1944. Highest estimate was for July (210) while only 20 for June 130 for August. When even Fremde Ost was skeptical of Luftwaffe's ability to destroy/knock out Soviet armor then clearly the real number of ground attack aircraft (Schlachtgeschwader) eliminating Soviet tanks and assault guns might have been relatively low, just about 2% of all Soviet AFV losses. In Kursk (Citadel) some 2-5% of Soviet tank losses (1 956 by Frieser) was caused by Luftwaffe when Soviet officials studies reasons for their tank losses. In France 1940 only 2% of French armor losses (total some 1 750) were caused by Luftwaffe.

This is one of the COOLEST videos I've ever seen. My compliments to all those who obviously spent thousands of hours producing this game. I am amazed at the detail going into this game to make it right, even down to working instrument panel gauges and the 'clang' of the brass being ejected after the T-34 76mm gun fired! I felt as though I was right there in the middle of it. In fact, when I first saw it on the side-bar before I viewed it, I TRULY thought this was a REAL WWII video.

Amazing video. I never knew the fact that the propeller was made out of wood. Graphics here are so good that allowed me to know that.

Actually, this was the 1st video I ever seen about Il-2 BoS, and still one of my favourites. Funny, I was wondering how nice the graphics is, I thought this is a WW2 battle animation, but then I realised, "wait... this is a game, isn't it?" 😊 Now I'm wondering why I didn't subscribe yet. Edit: Now I did.

I read a comment a while back said that the reason it had fixed landing gear and most of the dive bombers did was that it gave it more structural rigidity which makes sense it also makes it weight less so you could carry larger bombs AND being able to pull out of dives doing high Gs. One British test pilot said “Everyone says that their DB does vertical dives but the Stuka actually does it and asks for more !” “Pulling the dive brakes is like popping a parachute !” One German pilot said that “It was like a wheel barrel you dump your load and then go back for more “ A flying wheel barrel LOL !

@@catfishofthewoopass Shit it is, but only if we contrast it with reality. It is not at all worse than nearly any other game. BeamNG drive might be one thing having better destruction physics, but it's not a flight simulator, and I reckon the planes there are in it are mostly modded and so, aren't like, the best. They didn't make the frame out of enough segments for it to break even more spectacularly, yet the game still pretty much beats both WT and DCS in terms of crash physics n stuff, which are pretty much the only flight sims comparable to Il-2; and, Rise of Flight.
