    Excellent video! You have a terrific grasp of how to "tell a story" with you editing, etc. Love the music, love the "feel" of a living airport (nice job of showing machines in the hangar in different states of repair), and you story of the combat! Again....GREAT job!

    I love your videos so much! It makes me nostalgic of when I played to IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles! I remember trying the MiG-3 quite a few times. I have to admit that its extreme lack of firepower gave me headaches. I remember emptying my ammo into the back of a HE-111 engine pod and not even scratching it a little bit. I should probably have targeted its tail stabilisators instead. The version with 4 SHVAK 20mm cannons was amazingly devastating though. But even with the main variant, when you flew high with it, it had wonderful maximum speed for its time. I think it could reach 640 km/h at altitude, quite a feat in 1941. It kind of was the MiG-25 of 1941. Built for great speed at high altitude and nothing else.

    I'm sure this video was made for entertainment purposes only. It even says in the description "...teaching nothing." In which case; thumbs up. Great intro, develops nicely (although rather over-long in the development stage), very good editing in the dog-fights although the story may have flowed better with fewer double-takes, and ultimately inconclusive story, but overall, a very good bit of amateur filmmaking, I thought.

После почти каждой попытки штурма стрелки обоих илов были убиты, что я не захотел отражать в ролике. • @billietyree6139

    @billietyree6139

    Unfortunately, the United States Air Force didn't exist when the P-40 was put into production. The Army Air Corps was a branch of the Army with ground pounder fossilized Generals in charge. The original design for the P-40 was with the radiator underneath and midship, like this craft and the P-51. But the Generals (probably from horse cavalry days) decided that the plane "looked more aggressive" with the chin radiator. And that's how they screwed that up. Still, the P-40 was a strong, serviceable aircraft and served in theaters around the world successfully.

    There is an Army/Navy surplus store called the Supply Sargent (seen in the film Once Upon...Hollywood) and Quentin even restored the neon sign on the roof for the film. I have been shopping at this store since 1970. That we have both survived the last half-century is a bloody miracle. In 2018 the Sarge put on their shelves itty-bitty (about 2 1/2 inches long) WWII Warbirds. They are accurate and beautiful and laser-decaled, I have no idea how they get the insanely tiny details of P-40's Sharkmouth, or the painting on the cowl of the P-47D that is so tiny I can't read the letters. This is some dedicated science I am talking about. Of coursed I purchased, at FOUR DOLLARS APIECE every single airplane that was on the shelf, no repeats, just one kind of plane in one tiny die-cast model. I couldn't wait to get these miniscule marvels to my tiny Hollywood room to add to my collection and remove from the plastic stand, which I can't stand and I recycled the stands. I have 13 warbirds and they don't include the Folke-Wulf 190 or the Hawker Hurricane, I don't know the model maker's name or company name. There are many famous airplanes represented in this collection, from P-51D to Spitfire Mark Fourteen (? - why not the original elliptical wings you turkeys) and a P-40 and and a French Dewoitine D.520 (!) and a Russian plane as signified by the red star. What the heck is this? I thought so I went online and played detective. I had recycled all of the packaging which had the aircraft's name in tiny letters in one place on the box it came in so I didn't know what a couple of the aircraft were and my pride in Warbird Knowledge was ripped to shreds by these little beauties. The Russian fighter turned out to be a (snow-camo-white) MiG-3. It is one of the most beautiful prop planes I have ever seen and I didn't even know of it's existence until a year ago. Thank you for your lovely film starring this elegant badass bird.

    MiG-3 was designed before WW2 as high altitude interceptor. But the reality of Blitzkrieg pushed Soviet air force use MiG-3 as a ground attack plane and low altitude fighter. In this video, you can see MiG-3 Series 24 with radio and wing slats. All series before had no radio and wing slats. Pilots often lose the fight because they cannot even warn each other of a threat. The absence of wing slats turns the low altitude fight with Bf 109E to the hopeless task, MiG-3 falls into the stalling unexpectedly. One of the most known Soviet aces Aleksandr Pokryshkin called MiG-3 "stubborn horse" in his memories. Also, MiG-3 has a too weak weapon to shoot down his main target - Ju 88. Pokryshkin said, the one set of ammunition shot into well armored Ju 88 is not enough even to seriously damage it. In addition, MiG-3 was very hard in the landing. So only very experienced Soviet pilots managed to survive that period. That is why Soviet propaganda tried not mentioning MiG-3. Too many heavy looses associate with this plane.

    I think the WW1 and WW2 pilots are the bravest people of all history. The chance to survive was too low for all sides. Here is a video about the excavation of Bf 109 with a pilot inside. The fallen from high altitude fighter turned into a time capsule in deep soil, fuel and oil prevented human flash from rotting. kzread.info/dash/bejne/paaIx8useJOfe9I.html

    MiG-3 wasn't been designed as ground attack plane, no as dog fighter. MiG-3 was designed as high altitude interceptor and war in the air in Russia was low-altitude dog fight . Heavy and unmaneuverable MiG3 became an easy prey for Me109.

    @@zxc111yt :-) У Вас хороший стиль. А.Покрышкин очень хорошо описал свой боевой путь, очень образно показал воздушные бои, четко изложил проблемы, свои мысли о том как побеждать, передал атмосферу тех лет. Был бы рад вашим дальнейшим роликам по воспоминаниям А.Покрышкина. Можно их объединить в серию. Думаю это было бы полезно многим любителям авиации, особенно молодым :-) Р/s Если кто-то будет писать сценарий для фильма по мотива А.Покрышкина Ваша серия о нем будет готовой калькой. Может быть Вы сами когда-то и напишете, почему нет. Успехов и удачи :-)

    @@zxc111yt Согласен. Ваши ролики мне, например, смотреть интересно, поэтому и возникло предложение о Вашем игровом сериале про А.Покрышкина, по его книгам. Почему его, потому, что он объединил летное мастерство с литературным талантом. Второе предложение к Вам после съемок этой игровой серии написать сценарий для большого кино на основе воспоминаний А.Покрышкина и Ваших роликов по их мотивам. Этот сценарий с игровым сериалом (по сути это отрывки кино) можно будет предложить в Минкультуры, нашим режиссерам или(и) продюсерам конечно с Вашим творческим и экспертным сопровождением. Это конечно если у Вас есть на это желание и возможности :-)

    Книгу Покрышкина "Небо войны" в СССР издали только потому, что Покрышкин был слишком любим народными массами. В этой книге вскрывается очень много неприятных для режима подробностей, например книга начинается с описания анексии Бессарабии (как хорошо, что добровольно присоединилась, и теперь не надо боевой авиации идти в бой. Вот такое добровольное присоединение Бессарабии). Поэтому современное Минкультуры РФ никогда не согласится на экранизацию Покрышкина. Не согласится еще много лет. Сейчас в тренд пойдут такие фильмы как этот корейский kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaKsw6-facXJabg.html
