This was a nice even battle 👌 That last Baron in the 2 vs 5 battle using the Mastermind like a shield was amazing.

At last, we saw a highlight for Spider Mastermind as "last survivor" in a massive battle. Chain gunners are laughing, I guess.

If only Spider Mom had lower pain chance on the nightmare...

Considering how big she is, she should've had the lowest pain chance of any demon. I think 6/256 would have been perfect (as reference, an Archvile has 10/256)

@@laurenceroberts1 there's some where i've seen the Cyber win rather handedly. especially enemies like Arch-Viles due to their reliance on explosion damage literally being 90% of the damage they deal and Cybers are immune to explosion damage.

If it didn't keep switching targets and focused them down one at a time, it might have won more rounds.

I've come to root for the ultimate DOOM underdog, the poor Spider Mastermind.

The small movements of the spider in ultra violence really help it to avoid the barons getting into a melee rhythm. And the barons seem to get in each other's way in even moderate numbers. Nice touch with E1M8 music :)

I had to rewatch that first match because that SMM went down so quick and it didn't even get hit that much. Legit was expecting no less than 4 barons down given how it was painting and then all of a sudden boom

Half decent outing for the SM compared to every other match it had.

If it was somehow possible to command the barons individually, it would be well possible for even two Barons to kill one one SM

The SM has the most unpredictable scaling. As it has an area attack so it is stronger against groups, but it also takes friendly fire so groups of SMs are weaker.

lower pain chance by half, reduce hit box (not sprite size) size by 25%, reduce chaingun spread by around 25%, bump hp to same as cyberdemon, and the spiderdemon wouldn't be so bad.

whats sad is that she's only that way because of her stupidly high pain chance. if it was lower, like half of what it is, she would be WAY more scary. she was just done dirty.

@@anime4life209 I played doom mods that give the spider mastermind a pain level like the arch-vile and his anim attack speed is a few frames faster... and that was a great experience for me, stun lock him is almost impossible and changing targets is way faster, making him a very high threat now, and quite difficult on his own, to think such a few silly changes can radically change a boss fight.

There is no shame in being beaten by the Baron of Hell. It truly is the TOUGHEST enemy in the entire game!!! The Mastermind gave it her all!!!

There's still the SMM vs Pain Elemental: please set 1 VS 1, it would be funny 😁

Yeah, like she has absolutely 0 fucks to give to friendlies. Sarcasm: Makes you wonder why it's so damn easy to cause infighting against her, but impossible against an Av ... :P

Tbf, won the even HP battle on UV.

For a Boss enemy, the Mastermind has a very poor defence. It's pain chance is very high and it remains stationery whilst attacking, allowing it's enemies an easy target, which it turn, prevents it from doing an undisrupted attack. Against 5 Barons, it's in trouble.

1 v. 1 she's a killer though in most cases. She can be a big problem in an open area with just you to target. Her issues do come from her pain chance though you're right.

why the fuck did they give the Spider Mastermind a >20% pain chance? The Cyberdemon is 3 or 4, considering the hitbox gap the SM should have a pain chance of less than 1%.
