You eventually gotta do army's of all doom monsters at once in a massive war
_This_ is one of the interesting matchups in my book. Because on the one hand, a Pain Elemental has a significant advantage over other monsters against a Cyberdemon: the use of Lost Souls as its projectile means that the Cyberdemon can never directly target it because he gets mad at the Lost Souls instead. And on the other hand, the Cyberdemon is one of the only monsters that has a good shot at killing a Pain Elemental that's infighting with it - because splash damage from the rockets means he doesn't need to directly target the Pain Elemental to wreck it.
Best monster infighting battle ever. Watching waves of lost souls charge the cyberdemon and then get swatted away by the rocket launcher explosions time after time was epic.

I could see some cool rehashing of this video material.
Coolest moment for me has to be the 2 Cybers standing back to back launching missiles non-stop.
11:47 "hey, you got a mosquito in your back..." (BOOM) "...there!"
In Nightmare mode the spam of Lost Souls makes for effective shields for the Pain Elementals, and even the Cyberdemons ended up overwhelmed.
Anyone who can defeat that many Pain Elementals on Nightmare has my deepest respect.
Sure is fun watching the Lost Souls scatter under fire!
Love it when a cluster of Lost Souls scatters in every direction from a point blank rocket.
This match was nothing but pain.

This is one of my new favorite channels. Love classic DOOM games and all the weird WADs and deep dives STILL being done on it to this day. And then there's this haha surprisingly entertaining.

I’ve been waiting for this one!

Nvm grouping a ton of meatballs together just makes them kill each other like hit scanners.
I like it when you go UP in numbers from the original as opposed to using fewer... Makes it far more entertaining to watch. This was your best work yet!
What a mess! Even PE were killed by friend's Lost Souls, Cyberdemons lost the final round 😢

I bet that cyber demon had a huge headache after this one 😂
Last battle is just... 👌👍 One of my favorites
look like the cyber making popcorn
In Nightmare mode, ironically, most PEs were being killed off by their own spawn, the Lost Souls. This number even vastly exceeded the casualties caused by the Cyberdemon's rockets.
Oh yeah I hope we’re coming down to the wire on how soon we will see how The Spidermastermind fairs against these Pain Elementals too

I bet it only needs 1 pain elemental to kill the spider masterpoop in nightmare
@Shadowtrooper09

@@elecman748I think it might take more because the Pain Elementals were never intended to be intentionally targeted and if the Spidermastermind ignores the lost souls it could kill it
CDs could have own all rounds if they a) kept closer to each other and b) focused on the PEs instead of trying to kill random LSs at the other side of the map.

The way the monsters are programmed is to retaliate against their last living attacker. Which is why it is always so fun to get huge rooms of monsters to start in fighting!
This was great. That final battle was a thrill to watch. I am not sure if you did Barons vs Pain elementals but doing it with the increasing scale might be really fun to watch. 100 vs 100 final battle perhaps? Not sure how much damage Barons can get through that wave of lost souls.
Interesant
If the Pain Elemental AI was advanced enough to actively keep distance from its target and spam lost souls, they would win a lot more fights. In fact, they would never lose any 1v1s.
Not sure why Pain Elementals keep closing in on the Cyberdemons on nightmare? 🤔
1:55 ouch!
Suggestions for next fights: Imps vs Wolfenstein SS Arch viles vs chaingunners Revenants vs Barons of hell Cacodemons vs Arachnotrons Pinkies vs Sergeants
Cacodemons vs arachnotrons pleaaaaaaaaase!
quel carnage lol avec le 5 cyber demon
What an annoyance the PE is in the game...Im glad to see dozens of them destroyed! This game will never get old!
If this is what Hell looks like, I'm not so against it. Let's Go!
Big Bois vs. Demonic Meatballs and Flying Skulls
I'd like to see a Doom map where the final boss would be a dozen Pain Elementals.
Is the Cyberdemon not firing a 3rd rocket sometimes when the enemy is dead? Noticed this in a previous video as well. This might have an effect on the outcomes surely?

Probably an hit by other enemy triggered a pain state

If cyberdemon doesn't shot 3rd rocket it means he got a pain state or death, no other cases.
As much of a cluster as I was expecting. Taking things in, quite a bit to analyze here. Pain Elementals are at their best in Nightmare from their spamming of Lost Souls as Cyberdemons would be occupied with taking the Lost Soul hordes out, though doesn't necessarily guarantee victory with friendly fire from Lost Souls being an issue for Pain Elementals and Lost Soul damage output being quite weak against the Cyberdemon's beefy 4000 HP. Plus, those rockets taking out good sized groups of Lost Souls. Shows that as annoying as Pain Elementals can be to human players, just a minor nuisance for Cyberdemons as long as PE numbers aren't too overwhelming.
Those Elementals really bring the Pain once the difficulty goes to Nightmare.

Fun fact: pain elementals can't shoot more.lost souls when maximum lost souls limit is reached! So that means pain elementals won't hurt you even when you get close to them or even when they exploded!
3:08 Boo! Bring back the Cyberdemon that took 10,000 Lost Souls to kill.
I was rooting for the big guys each time. The Nightmare Mode was always a nail biter.
"WHAT lost soul limit?"
reckless aircraft carrier vs battleship
The lesson here is dont eff with cyber demons. Duh. Super interesting stuff, though.
Go, Cybies, go!
If this was Doom 64's PE version it would be a lot more challenging for the Cyberdemon. Two lost souls per PE, albeit weaker lost souls, but much more aggressive.
Imagine if it was the beta lost soul with the hitscan attack
Why are some lost souls blowing up as they are spawned?
How many Lost Souls was spammed in last nightmare run??
What if you had 100 cyber demons vs 100 cyberdemons?
I see you turned the Lost Soul Limit off.
could you make afrit with other demons?

That’s an idea that he could explore once every single possible matchup has been done. I think he should, it would be interesting seeing doom monsters Vs monsters from mods
Splash damage pest control.
mMm demon soup 😋
If u ever do mastermind vs pain elemental trust me better if u start in 1vs2 lol , i dont think mastermind will be able to take down 2 pain elementals 1 mb but not 2
Pain Elementals *half of them dead to due friendly fire* the hell frank?! you're supposed to kill them not us! Lost Souls: sorry dad, but they pay better. Cyber: if they don't i kill them :3.
I'd like to see one of these fights with specters on one of the sides. I know they're almost identical to pinkies, but it would be interesting to see the enemy horde of monsters shooting erratically because of specters' partial invisibility.
"Point blank range? Sounds good to me". -Cyberdemon
Could you do Pain Elementals vs the small spider things?
These cybies clearly don't play Doom, everyone knows you target the meatballs first
anyone else notice cyberdemon mostly doesnt get it third shot off lol
