I didn't play the game so I looked for the 2099 theme and the melody does sound alike. But it is played with much more staple instruments.. I believe the track from the movie tried to evoke the timber of the unlimited cartoon. As soon as I heard it in the movie I immediately remembered the cartoon intro. So I think both are correct!

It's based on unlimited theme not cuz of his costume design but cuz of the fact that show was supposed to be SpiderMan 2099 but they changed it to Peter going to a different earth with his futuristic suit because at that time Batman Beyond was ongoing so people don't think they copied SpiderMan 2099 from DC

I can kinda hear it but it’s still awesome

its also really cool how they probably used animal sounds in vocoders to create a really cool almost LURCHING theme. it fits this miguel o' hara perfectly.

I believe it is mostly based on The Prowler's theme. But I hear how it resembles the Unlimited theme.

Honestly, the spiderverse soundtrack is amazing

2099 is the best part of the film. Easily the most savage spidey we’ve seen on screen yet. He’s intimidating.

It's actually a rendition of his theme from Shattered Dimensions which did use Unlimited as inspiration.

Not just Spiderman unlimited, but is also takes some of the prowler's theme and the 2099 theme from shattered dimensions

Another cool thing with 2099 is that he never has Spider Sense go off during the movie. He doesn’t have one, he just already has crazy heightened senses, like Daredevil. That’s also why his suit doesn’t have eyes, because he’s sensitive to extremely bright lights- and he sees a lot of those as Spider-Man, for sure. (Edit for spelling and adding on to my point)

They did the right thing, even though I think it was a bit of a substandard TV show that I could not get into as a kid and which was not renewed for a second season.

Good, cause it should've been Miguel's show anyway. Good to know the staff knew that as well lmfao. Been here since the 90s, 2 games, a cameo. Yet Miles cut infront of him anyway. Miguels deserved way better from Marvel all these years. His aggression against Morales in the marketing, an unintentional visualization of poetic justice. Miguel has a reason to be pissed and his theme mirrors the Prowlers, someone who also put the fear of God into Miles. Fitting.

Did you know that his theme is just his shattered dimensions theme

It’s a mix of the Prowler theme, the Spider Man Unlimited theme, and a theme of a different Spider man 2099.

It’s based off this because back in the 90s originally there was supposed to be a show staring Miguel, but this coincidentally was the same year that beyond Batman released. The two shows and characters had a very similar vibe so Marvel held off releasing the show cause they didn’t want conflict with DC. Thus resulted Spider-Man Unlimited instead of Spider-Man 2099.

If you played the Spider-Man Unlimited theme at its normal speed, it would sound WAY more like Miguel’s theme.
