Doctor Reacts To PAINFUL Anime Scenes

I know there is a TON of anime out there that I didn't cover, so if there are scenes from animes you'd like me to react to please let me know down in the comments and I'll get to it in a future episode!
I also wanted to clarify that I KNOW many of you are annoyed that I reacted to the English dubs and that you prefer watching with the original Japanese VO. I get it. The reason I do that is because I've learned over the years these videos become kind of unwatchable when you're forced to read English subtitles... while listening to Japanese voices... while listening to my voice... while reading on screen text... at the quick speed the videos play at... and with many of you turning on captions anyway. It's sensory overload. So, no need to angry comments about captions, I understand! And hopefully now you see why I did it this way.

It's really interesting what Dr Mike said about pupil dilation when someone is fearful, because in anime, you often (almost universally) see characters' pupils shrink in situations of shock/horror/fear - to the point where a close-up of constricting pupils is used as an indicator that **bee-woop** about to go down. 👀

Granted, there's lots of black widow species, maybe you're thinking of a particular one. The bites are certainly much more dangerous for young, old, or imuno-compromised people, but also very survivable. From a quick search, the American Association of Poison Control Centers data from 2013 shows that out of almost 1,900 reported bites, only 14 people had severe issues and there were no deaths.
@4:00 definitely true with steroids. 6:45 AOT actually went a little bit into the science of titans for a bit, pointing out that they're actually really light for their size, a normal person could pick up the head of a five meter titan on their own, so they have a much lower density than normal people, which would allow for their massive sizes.

@alukata9763

@@MrAhmed42069 it's not just about the weight, it's a matter of forces. Wind does exert a certain preassure. preassure x surface area = force. So the bigger the surface area, the bigger the force exerted by the wind. Let's assume a titan has twice the size and twice the surface area of a human but only 1.3 times the mass. so while the wind may attack a surface area of 1m² at a human it's 2m² at a titan. a strong breeze has a force of 71-117N/m². a 80kg human has a downwards force of about 800N. A 104kg Titan 1040N. Sure, a strong breeze won't cause a titan to lift of. However a storm with with 520+ N/m² would cause a straight standing titan to take off. A strong breeze would exert about the same force on a titan as a gale onto a human. Wind is gonna be a major issue for titans.

I was half-watching the original Naruto with my kids yesterday and it was some elimination round battle arc between the students and when one student lost and was collapsed on the ground the medics came running in and remarked "her heart's stopped" "she doesn't have a pulse" and then just sort of loaded her on the stretcher and started jogging away to take her to I guess the ER or something, I pounded on my own chest and yelled "CHEST COMPRESSIONS!!!" My kids were like "wut" my dad was giggling, and my mom came up from the basement right as I yelled that out and was like "who needs chest compressions??!" I was rolling. Can you please tell what is the lethal voltage? Because I did my country’s national electrical safety course and test and we were told it’s the amps. All the treshholds from 50mA to 500mA and what the symptoms are and stuff. No mention of the effects voltage has on humans.
@CoryLuLu

That said, in 99% of cases 120v wall outlet is not gonna electrocute anyone. Human capacitance is too high to arch across your body unless you are very small or (literally) thin skin in both exposed parts and are very unlucky.
@CoryLuLu
Жыл бұрын
@@XXXkazeXXXentirely depends on what points of contact are being made. If you are holding the positive and natural ends of a cable connected to a wall, it needs a lot of voltage to arch through you, 120v likely won't, the more calluses you have on your hand, the more capacitance it will need to overcome as well (which is why electricians typically aren't scared of being shocked by live wires, since they have thick calluses typically), that goes down if you have moisture on your skin but still, even for 220-240v outlets, it's very rare to arch across your heart. Ultimately though, that's the only reasonable threat. Circuit breakers will break before household electricity will burn you to death or anything. The current from electrical poles and whatnot is a whole different story though. You don't even need to touch both ends for that to kill you, it can arch straight through you to earth and light you on fire in seconds.
@XXXkazeXXX
Жыл бұрын
@@CoryLuLu I was taught to calculate like this: according to my textbook, human impedance from a hand to both feet is around 1000 ohmi. Our wall sockets are 230 V. 230 V / 1000 ohmi = 0,23 A. Then look at the amps because they tell the risk as voltage without current does nothing. Like, if you have a 1 kV voltage that has no current and you get caught in it. That’s around 1 A and it’s lethal. But if that same voltage has a load with impedance of 4000 ohmi, then you might get to simply walk away since you only got ~ 200 mA. The voltage was the same, the current was the deciding factor.

I have an encapsulation of a piece of metal in my hand and another at least one in my calf. The ones in my leg don't bother me so much even though it looks really bad because a chunk of my muscle never grew back where it penetrated. The one in my hand however constantly bothers me. It doesn't hurt, it's like a weird tickle/ itch deep below the skin that comes and goes and you can never scratch it. I've thought about cutting it out before, or at least going to the VA and asking them to do it but I'm not living in the US at the moment and sadly the US military doesn't have many VA clinics in South America. It's been there since I was 18, I'm 30 now so I'm sure it's not going to kill me.
Would love you to do another one if these with "My Hero Academia" in the line up since Deku is well knows for breaking his body and there are some injuries described in the show like Stain getting his lung punctured with his own rib. Also it'd be funny seeing you attempting to explain the intense quirk training scene during the camp arc.

Doctor mike, there are some amazing stories in some anime, I do recommend dipping your toes in your own time.
Love this
I would love to see Dr. Mike take a look at every injury in MHA, mostly the All Might one at the start of the series, and the Izuku vs Flect Turn injuries in the 3rd movie(lasers through the body MULTIPLE times(also happened in the 2nd movie as well...), face forcefully dragged across the floor, arms broken from enough strength to shatter a mountain from the inside, etc etc). Would be interesting to know exactly how the human body would actually react going the speed of light that Izuku was going at the end of the fight in the 3rd movie, or even the speed that he was going during the final fight in the 2nd movie. Honestly seeing him take a look at all the injuries from the movies would just be a treat, honestly, but primarily the All Might one in the 1st episode, and the ones in the 3rd movie

my guy, bakugo should be dead after the third movie. The battle with those twins should have been the dead of him but THANK GOD he's still here *Spoiler alert* he actually dies on chapter 361 of the manga. Even tho, they say he's gonna be revieved
For the “oh you got bit by a spider now you’re gonna become one”, that’s not due to the bite itself. It’s due to the Blood Demon Art (a supernatural unique ability for a demon that one obtains after eating a certain number of humans). For Mitsuki being literally blue, nobody quite knows why. He’s a clone of Orochimaru, who has been pale as hell for, well, his whole life. Never given an explanation, just put out there, possibly for differentiation. For Boruto screaming in pain, that is impressive. A trained shinobi, especially a part Uzumaki (one quarter Uzumaki, to be precise), has some incredible pain tolerance. For a trained shinobi to be *screaming* in pain, it would take some SERIOUS damage. Then again it could just be there for emphasis and for funnies. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Edit: Oh and that green magicky glow thing from the doctor is medical ninjutsu, which uses chakra, making it physically impossible for someone like Rock Lee or Might Duy.
