This game had no business having the level of content it did for a movie game. Seriously, playing throught he story again in an entirely different way was just a wonderful little bonus.

You know what, as fun as Spider-Man 2 was, that is what was missing from the game that could have added a ton of replay value. They should have allowed you to unlock alternate costumes, added a few cheats and allow you to play as Doc Ock through the campaign. Of course, Spider-Man 2 did give you a better combat system and open world free roam with better swinging mechanics. But I remember being disappointed that you couldn't play as Doc Ock like they allowed you to play as Green Goblin on the first game. They also should have added new game plus.

^ this. For some reason either Activision, Treyarch or Marvel themselves didn't only put efford on wanting the game to be bigger than anything else, but for some reason forgot to put stuff like that. We will never know the reason, maybe the technology at the time didn't allow to choose different skins, I don't know.

One of the more replayable Spiderman games imo. It was so damn cool realizing you could play the Goblin and it actually had different dialogue spawning from him. Amazing game

I love Rooftop Lady. Iconic.

Josh Keaton did a very good job voicing Harry Osbourne in the game. It was FUN while playing as the movie version of the Green Goblin...

You know what i like about playing retro games from the early 2000s like spiderman, is that you can unlock the costumes by either replaying the game or using cheats, nowadays the costumes and cheats are pretty much microtransactions or dlc which i find STUPID. I can understand it maybe worth paying but i dont think it is.

True, I also play retro games because they give impressive content. Nowadays I have to pay for everything, so I specifically have to calculate which game ((+ The dlc )) to buy, and that is why I kinda cool because the game gets updated but a little rare to pay more

I was in 4th grade and I had a friend over at my house and he showed me how to unlock this. I got so excited I ditched him in hide and seek so I could play goblin lol

Spolier if you haven't seen No Way Home After Norman Osborn returned to the ramiverse cured following NWH he destroyed all the enhancers that caused him to be the goblin He kept the amour and glider modding it slightly and he vowed to be good following the events of NWH

Man, despite the fact this game was childhood from me, and I still love it having 20 years as of now 2021... I can't help but notice that Toby's voice acting is so monotone and emotionless compared to Keaton's green goblin...

Just when you thought you were done...it's Goblin's time to play. Let's see how this goes on Hell difficulty.

Man, I really wish this game gets the remake (or even remaster) treatment, even if it’s very unlikely, something like that would be nice as sort of an Anniversary gift. Also shame we didn’t got the chance to use Alex Ross’ Goblin suit in this Story Mode.

I wish we'd get the opportunity to play the Green Goblin again like this in an upcoming games. With the suit, the gadgets, the glider, it'd be so much fun. Hopefully we'll get a Goblin DLC on Insomniac's Spider-Man 2.

Oh, yeah, it's a thing. Problem is you have to beat the game on Hero or Superhero difficulty to unlock it. Or use cheat codes to get it, if you aren't a glutton for punishment. And speaking of cheat codes, when you do play Goblin mode, try entering the code "CHILLOUT". Have fun using a glider that never overheats. Infinite machine guns and turbo boosting for the win, hoes!

@@KahosSaint Fun fact: Josh Keaton was hired to voice Spider-Man before Tobey Maguire signed on to reprise his role from the movie. Josh recorded many of Peter's lines before Tobey came on later in development, which I'm sure sucked for everyone there. Treyarch took advantage of all of Keaton's already recorded lines and used them here while keeping Keaton on as Harry. If you notice, many lines used in this level, including those in the conversation with the purse lady, are the exact same lines as Tobey's. Kudos to Treyarch for taking advantage of the situation and making something cool out of it for fans.

*chillout* is the code that makes the glider not overheat I remember doing that and had a lot of fun with this. especially the unlimited webbing.

Nope, Josh the voice of Spider-man from "the spectacular spider-man".

The developers of this and spider-man 2 games did a bit more than expected for movie tie in games. not many go that extra mile but i guess considering its freaking SPIDER-MAN they decided to go above and beyond. really the first game is a better graphic version of the psx games, no question. but they went out of their way to make goblin playable. That's more than i can say for the awful third one where the map is just too damn big and you don't feel as fast as in the second game. the second game being almost pitch perfect of a spiderman game. (for the record i think the ps4 spider-man game is a bit of a arkham asylum clone. Just like many other open world adventure games with stealth forced in.)

I like to imagine some of this dialogue was from when Keaton was going to be Spidey

You had to complete the game on the hardest difficulty, I just put the level skip cheat and skipped every level then it was unlocked for me.

Kinda disappointed we never got to play as Green Goblin again in later games. They were really onto something.

Hey, Green Goblin! You stink, man! "Hey right back at yea, buddy!" This game was great.

So, let me see if I got this straight... Of the video game based on the 2002 film, Harry Osborn wears the Green Goblin costume and uses the glider that his father, Norman Osborn, had worn and used to fight against criminals, but of the 2007 film "Spider-Man 3", Harry, knowing that Peter is Spider-Man and believes that Peter had murdered his father, wears a different Goblin costume and uses a different glider to avenge his father's death by trying to kill Peter? James Franco as Harry Osborn should've also worn the same Green Goblin costume that William Dafoe as Norman Osborn had worn but with purple coloring added to the costume.

What I disliked about the goblin story was that they didn't give him cutscenes. They didn't even reveal who the other goblin was. I would have had it as Roderick Kinsley and have him be the Hobgoblin. It wouldn't have killed the developers to also make a few original missions as well. This way everything would line up. They could've advertised it and the game sales would definitely have been higher.

I would have said (spolier alert) after Norman returned to the raimi verse following NWH he vowed to become good and he made it his mission to stop the hobogoblin who in the post NWH events killed Spider-Man

I actually enjoyed goblin play more

I never knew you could do this.

I wish more of the levels in the game had side quests like this one did.

Well, you do have to clear the game in Super Hero mode to unlock Green Goblin, which also unlocks Unlimited Web as well. I don't consider that cheating; you deserve it for that accomplishment alone.

Gob-e-lin, Gob-e-lin, does the things that spiderman can't.

You know? Unlocking Goblin or cheating to unlock him made the game more playable once you finished it at least once. I remember entering the cheats hearing the good ol goblin laugh, Only to find out that the cheat I had entered unlocked almost everything -excluding Pinhead bowling- on the gamecube version. Say I'm crazy, But The Second game missed out on having another mode or at least something of what This game had did with this mode, I'm saying, they missed out on having a doc oc mode for the game itself. such a huge shame to be honest. BUT! Heres to Spidey going on ps4!

TBH, it's never stated to be Hobgoblin. It's just an unknow dude wearing Norman Osborn's Green Goblin suit. The fans have decided to call him Hobgoblin just because the game actually never discloses who the other Goblin really is (and probably we'll never know for sure, unfortunately)

You have to finish the game on super hero level and then in specials tab you choose skins and then you can get goblin skin

An easy way to do it is to just start the game and select hero difficulty. Then when the game starts just exit out and go to the level selection just select the ending video. Then that will unlock the Green Goblin in the secret store.

This is lazy. I was hyped for Playing as Green Goblin that comes with 20+ new levels, 3 new costumes, 23 new combat moves, 15 new training modes, a new story mode, new cutscenes, new bonus content, new foes & bosses, multiplayer modes, and Willem Dafoe’s iconic voice acting.

Ever Wonder where is Spider Man during the Goblin Missions of the Game? They could of had Harry go after Spider Man cause Harry Thinks Spider Man Killed his Dad instead they had Harry go after another Green Goblin, How lazy.

This is an alternate timeline were Pteer doesn't become Spider-Man, i think. But really, Ultimate Spider-Man had the exact same problem. You could wreck the entire city as Venom and Spider-Man wouldn't show up.
