HELLO SWITZERLAND!!! This is perhaps the world’s most expensive country… so I wanted to challenge myself and see how fast I could spend $1,000 by doing normal tourist activities. That means eating at normal restaurants, sleeping at normal hotels, and visiting normal sights. Can you guess how many hours my $1,000 lasted? Hint: less than 24!
I just want to say that Switzerland is a great country - so pristine and beautiful - l and I hope to be back here again very soon!

Good country for white people with money . You're judged with respect to what you wear , men also wear jewellery (chains , expensive watches and rings ), there is a bit of snobbish high headedness . I have been there on a business trip for a company which makes chocolates and process coffee(don't want to take the name but you probably guessed it ) , don't want to visit again .
I wouldn't say the sticker is to drive legally, it allows you to use the highway for an entire year. You don't pay tolls in Switzerland, so if you are a resident, it's quite cheap.
@EliasLabordus
Жыл бұрын
But he does have a point that you will get a fine if you drive without one, thus making it illegal, right? But yeah it's not too bad. You just have to remember it when you cross Switzerland. Here in the Netherlands there is no tolls (except for a few highway tunnels in 'Old' Zealand). We do however pay a fee for every road using vehicle that you own. This will pay for the road maintenance, but also for services like getting you off the highway to a safe spot when you are stranded. All the best!

actually it doesnt depend on the value of a currency. South korea has an incredibly weak currency 1$ = 1200 KRW and it is still very expensive. 1 jordanian rial is equal to 1.41$ but jordan is a very cheap country. it's about how rich the country is. the average swiss salary is 5.400$/month and 14.9% of the swiss population are millionaires. everything will be more expensive when everyone is rich.

As a person who lives in Switzerland I must say the prices are INSANE, I hate it so much, 1 small shopping spree cost more than 100 francs. Living in Lugano I wish I could see you!
Hey Drew u should visit Leysin for once, it’s a nice village in the canton of Vaud under the 3 peaks of Berneuse, Tour de ai and Tour de Mayen
You should visit us here in Luxembourg 🇱🇺🇱🇺 Beautiful country, actually cheaper prices but the highest earning per Person in Europe
Switzerland is really very amazing country with very nice people ❤️ Wish to visit once ❤️❤️❤️

Crazy how expensive yet beautiful Switzerland is. And all the expenses (maybe except the hotel) weren't particularly "high budget" or luxurious.
Great points about recycling!
Absolutely amazing!
Even though its expensive the views u get make it soo worth it :) Hope one day i get to see it myself :D
I was visiting Basel and my friends renting a small apt there and it's like 700 franks or something the renting seemed quite affordable honestly And one tram ride to Germany for quick grocery shopping haha

Finally a video in switzerland!!
Good one Drew!
I live in Switzerland and most of the stuff are definitely much cheaper than that...Thai take away outside must be 2 times cheaper, the shoes are one of the most expansive in the store, finding such expansive cappuccino must be really difficult and so on. Looks like Drew extra looked for expansive places or so..
If you ever come back to Spain please visit one of these: -Granada: the last city to be under control of the moors, it has a beautiful islamic palace that is a unesco world heritage site -País vasco: this region in northern Spain has its own language and culture(although spanish is more commonly spoken) the language is in no way related to any other language in the world, I think it could be interesting for a video. It also has the beautiful lush green landscapes and mountains that can be commonly found throughout the north. -Cádiz: THE oldest city in the country with nice beaches and lots of history -Ceuta/Melilla: these two spanish cities are just like any other spanish city but are actually in northern africa, this means it has the EU’s most fortified border. I think this could be interesting for a video. I love your videos and would LOVE to see more videos on the less touristy parts of my country since Madrid, Barcelona and coast gets the most tourists even if they arent the best cities

Great Video Drew! Too bad i missed the Opportunity to bump into you when you where in Lucerne🥲 And yeah you visited Switzerland in one of the best Times. In the sunny warm Weather everything comes alive and People stay outside pretty much the whole Summer😎 Hope you will visit soon again😎
Beautiful 😍 video, beautiful country. Have a good time.
As someone who lives 10 minutes away from Luzern, it is really amazing to see you walk through places that I have fond memorys with. Regarding the prices, switzerland is a lot cheaper if you know were the locals are and not the tourist, but it is after all quite expensive.

so tell me how much a local would have paid for the same meal? if the minimum wage is 23 chf per hour, it would make sense that a meal would cost less than this. Finland is apparently on equal terms of cost, and buying a meal here is usually possible for less than 16 euros.

This video is mostly misleading. The 23$ an hour only exists in geneva, which is home to about 5% of Swiss people, so not true for the whole country at all.

You can get a good meal for about 20-25 chf.
After watching this video I feel like Switzerland is just a fool’s paradise.

Cool to see lugano. I’m going to visit it tomorrow and it looks amazing
WOW those mountains are stunning! I gotta take the hound camping there!!!
Finally Dudoi is back :D The Dog
Really cool Drew! I’ve been to Switzerland a number of times and for sure, it is such an expensive country, but quality of life is so high! I love going, but am always aware I’m going to spend min £500 in a weekend. Also, cash is still very much king, so when I go, it’s easy to see how much you have left. Often spend 2-300 CHF on a weekend of food and travel, attractions etc. Still an unbelievable country to visit and you can never get enough of the breathtaking scenery! Look forward to the next video! 😃

@@hallodu7067 because it’s fucking shithole. ppl are racist af, europeans in general are anti-social. It’s expensive af, u cant do anything besides hiking, but hiking is not for everyone, specially for black ppl like me. And teenagers are stupid/disrespectful. The only good thing about switzerland is the security, but other european countries also got good security and that they get payed a lot of money, but it’s just not a good place to live as a POC. That’s also one of the reasons why my parents got divorced, because my dad had to live here and he didn’t liked it either. He rather wanna move back to the US. I would suggest u to go to sweden (stockholm) where my dad currently lives.

@@hallodu7067 There are a lot of countries with the quality of life just as good as switzerland that do not have taxes higher than Trump's ego and prices are actually reasonable.

Woww 😮 what a lovely country! Switzerland is a dream 🤍
Went to Prague in June to do a month of study abroad and got to visit my Swiss friend in the Bern area for about a week. Such a fun and beautiful country to visit. My bank account was definitely not very happy but it was definitely worth every cent I spent.
Calling your dog "Dudoy" is the funniest damn thing... boy that cracked me up:)) Love the sense of humor~ {and fantastic videos as always}

Hi Drew, I'm from Italy and I live in Switzerland. We normally need over 5000 CHF for month and we are just 2 people. With only one salary would be impossible to live 2 people. That's Switzerland 😂 high life quality for a big price
amazing, bro! I live in swtizerland and it was really funny to watch. hahaha
In Lucerne he just passed next to Manor, where you can find a Manora Selfservice-Restaurant at the top of the building, with a top view over the old town/lake/mountains. And you will get a full meal for two people for 30% of the price in Lugano. (Sandwiches/Fries would probably cost around CHF 5 - 10 at Manor). Meaning... most of the money for Restaurants in Switzerland you pay for the service... not for the food.
it might be expensive there but internet, milk, cheese, bread, cars, and electronics are some of the things that are cheaper there than in Jakarta 😅
