Spektrum NX and DX Buddy Box Instructions - updated

Спорт

Want a safe and easy way to train a new RC plane pilot? Use a buddy box! That's simply a way to use two transmitters to control one airplane, with one transmitter being in control at a time. The instructor has one transmitter, and the student has the other. Control can be transferred by the instructor to the student at any time, and the instructor can regain control whenever needed. RC Jim shows you how to set this up for Spektrum NX and DX transmitters.
This updated version of the video includes a section towards the end on the pilot link instructor option.

Thanks for the update! With all due respect, I think there is something "wonky" with your system in the Pilot-Link mode. I only use Pilot-Link, and the student has ONLY the sticks, no trims, expo, or anything else. For instructor, I've used a DX-8 G2 and an NX-6. For student, I've only used a DX-6e. (I think.) One other system at the field works the same way, but I don't know for sure what transmitters they use. I might be wrong here, but I think I remember that both transmitters have to be in the "Trainer" mode when you bind them together. Wish I could be of more help, but I'm no expert -- far from it! Good luck!

"Wonky" is a good description of what's happening! Note that I have the trims set way off of where they should be on the student radio. That's unlikely to happen in normal practice, but I'm guarding against something "abnormal." I expect that most people who use that mode have the trims at zero on the student radio, and that's not likely to affect much. One day I'll do more testing, but for the moment I'll just be a "Standard" bloke.
