Super easy and awesome fix. Wife was headed to work in the early morning, called and said speedometer was not working, found this video and directed her over the phone. ONLY detail off was you need to release the trip button ONCE the 5.2 code shows. This worked on a Dodge Caravan, not the Grand. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for such a great video. Just used this on my 2005 Jeep Liberty after installing a battery. Worked perfectly!!!

My 2003 Chrysler Sebring had a loose positive battery terminal contact which caused complete loss of electricity to vehicle. This would happen very intermittently but when it did complete car was DEAD. After finding problem & repairing I noticed speedometer needle was on the wrong side of stopping pin. This video was easy to follow & saved me much money as dealer wanted to replace complete cluster. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I reset my rev counter so easily in my 2004 Chrysler Voyager after it spiked, due to flat battery and connection issues and no need for any garage fees whatsoever! first off let me say I am a retired mechanic of over 10 years so I know a little about cars . this is the very first time I have heard of this fix . I just started having trouble with my speedO in my 2000 dodge neon so at this point I have tried nothing . my speedO reads 0 until I get to about 30-40 mph then it starts jumping all over , up and down . it ran so far up that it tried to come all the way around and then stuck in the position you described , being under the needle stop pin . I was getting ready to take the dash apart to get the needle back in position when I found your video here . in short , you fix does work ! and it saved me a lot of unnecessary work !!! my display on the 2000 neon was a little different from the one in your video while it was resetting but it done what you said it would do !!! thanks a lot for your time to make the video !! now I have to go out and start looking for the original problem lol . have a great day :)

Gun Runner I have the same exact problem when I reach 35 it goes up but until I hit that speed it stays at 0. With my 1998 dodge.

Ok, great. I have done the procedure on my 2002 dodge neon but it did not work. I really would like if someone would make a video of the process and then SHOW THE CAR DRIVING WITH THE SPEEDOMETER WORKING AFTER THE FIX.

Well got the problem here of that same issue 2002 Dodge Neon .. it went way over when I was trying to start the car on the third try when I forgot. Had the lights on in the wet raining weather we Bern having. The car window leaks since the idiot gal crashed the car front end. When it rains or snows the water gets in t the front dash rns in t he fuse panel and shorts out man fuses . Heater radio wipers etc thnking to gasoline the whole thing to stop water leaking into. But yet why would it jump the needles on both the speedometer and RPM dials.. gonna try tomorrow to fix it all.. cause this 61 yrs old woman has Dr appointments to get to .

This might be issue is a bad speed sensor if this trick doesn't work

2006 Ram 1500. Tach has been pegged like this for years, speedo recently started doing it too. This fixed the speedo. The tach is still messed up but I don't really need it. Thanks!

Same here!! Mine is a 2002 Dodge Stratus Sedan. I had put a new instrument panel in and my rpm & mph guages weren't working, but everything else was. I didn't want to have to take my whole dash apart again so I googled it to see if it could be fixed and came across this video, thankfully!! At first though it wouldn't work, but I figured out it was because I had my driver's door open! Lol

My 2004 Dodge Ram, which I love dearly and will never let go of, had a gas tank fuel sender issue and somehow during that time they fixed that, but now my speedometer was pinned in the reverse direction and I thought Oh gee whiz, what now?? I did exactly what you suggested and it reset and fixed everything beautifully! I replaced my ignition switch and module a couple of years ago and so now there are two keys, one for the door and one for the ignition and I thought for sure that the tech had used the wrong key in the ignition which makes different stuff happen in the car lol. Turns out that you just absolutely made my day and saved me a hundred bucks on Amazon thinking I had to replace those items again. Thank you!

Thank you so much and for those who didn't get this then. After you have the odometer and turn if off then only hold down the code till it is reset after that turn the key and there you go it works

I have a 2001 Dakota 4WD. Speedometer stuck at 120 mph after I reconnected battery and started the vehicle. Steps were slightly different from what you described, but close enough. For the 2001 Dakota, after "CHEC" appeared in odometer display, I let go of button. Lots of things lit up one after another, needles moving around, speedometer dropped back to zero. Then finally the odometer showed my mileage and that seemed to be the end of the check. (It never showed "END" in the display.) Thank you so much for your helpful video!! Saved me alot of time and energy!!

Mine is a 1999 Grand Cherokee. I follow the instructions and the problem is fixed.

The tachometer on2000 Sebring JXi convertible stopped working after an alternator and dead battery problem. I found this Fix by Googling 2000 Sebring JXi tach stopped working. Everything else on dash was working. This was the easiest fix I've ever done. Took about 15 seconds. Thanks for posting.

Yay! It worked!! Thank you for this video!! At first it wasnt working, but I figured out it was because I had my driver door open lol. I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus Sedan and had put a new instrument panel in at my friend's garage,the new one is much nicer looking than my old one. I figured out on the way home that my RPM & MPH wasn't working,but all the other guages were.I had to guess my speed all the way home and it was nerve racking!! So, last night I Googled it to see if it could be fixed so I wouldnt have to put my old one back in, and came across your video. Then today I did exactly as you said and it fixed it!

I just want to comment incsase anyone comes across same problem as I did. Make sure your car doors are shut when doing this reset!! (On my car they had to be shut for this to work anyways). I followed your video instructions on my 2002 Dodge Stratus Sedan, but it wouldnt work..I figured out that it wasnt working because I had my drivers door open lol, I closed my door and then it worked..
