Someone suspected the speed sensor and broke the plug trying to unplug it. Excellent job doing it the right way!

I'm surprised a general shop wasn't able to make this diagnosis by themselves. Maybe the tech was new, we're facing a manpower issue everywhere these days. The silicone looked old, perhaps that previous work was done for a past owner, or maybe a dealer flipping an auction car. For once, it's good to see plastic gears, which results in damage to a device that is easily replaced.

you are the only one who found what i was looking for on my repair, but there is another person who did it.

Thanks for the tip. I own a 2004 Sorento that needs a charcoal filter replaced. To fill the gas tank takes forever.

Where can I locate you, I have similar issue

Hey great video, I got a question. I just replaced the speed sensor on a 1997 Honda Accord LX. Before the replacement The speedometer was acting erratically and so was the engine because of it, after replacing it the engine is not acting erratic anymore. It seems like the sensor is working, but the speedometer is now dead, any ideas?

What do we do if the Mph randomly starts bouncing around. I already replaced the inner and outer speed sensor and the instrument cluster..how can I find out about the fuse in speedometer. I don't have a manuals book to figure it out unfortunately

So after a rainy day my vehicle will receive a check engine light and my speedometer will climb staying at 80kmh, that’s until i flick my high beam on and it falls back to zero, i have to drive with my high beams on because not doing do causes the engine to make a louder noise than before but the engine is perfectly fine. This issue has been going on for 3 years and stops during the cold winters. any recommendations because the code says faulty speedometer but when we changed it and happend again.

Kinda hard to diagnose something like that without a mechanic actually getting under the hood of your car. There’s several things that could cause this.

Did you change the connector

If I don't gave a scanner does it hurt to just replace the sensor and take it to a mechanic to make sure its all good

I would just take it to a reputable mechanic to get it diagnosed

Mine turns on an turns off i don't know whats up with it but all the input and output sensors are good the speedometer is good and the odo is good... the car prossesor is good so i confused

my peedometer not been working right lately my input connection was snapped by something i hope that fixes it and i don't need to pull what ever you did xD

What if I already changed the sencer and speedometer still don’t work.

I have an 08 Honda fit and it worked fine but the speedometer just stopped working. One day it worked but then the next time I started the car and drove, it’s dead at 0mph. My miles are being counted but idk
