This took me way back. I remember when I had one of these '80's Tyco tracks with the basic pieces. Then my dad and I bought a whole bunch of extra track pieces and a few more cars. I am still trying to remember which Tyco set we had bought initially. It might have been the simple figure 8 shape with 2 cars. There was another brand back then that had different cars. One brand had the little metal peg at the bottom to keep it on track. The other brand didn't have the little peg, and your car could switch lanes.

I have another video that touches on Monigram and Revell nascar slots. But, there so much history in the early decades. I’m actually working on a Eldon and Strombecker video.

Pretty sure that's an error as to Terry Flynn acquiring the Tyco brand. He did acquire the rights to what remained of the Lifelike brand. Tyco is still a Corporation in operation but they sold the slotcar portion of the business to Mattel.
