SPEED UTV FIRST RIDE IMPRESSION | CHUPACABRA OFFROAD

Спорт

FINALLY!! Us believers in Speed UTV are getting to take the first cars on a test drive, been waiting for such a long time.
We had some challenges, but overall I think this SxS is going to be a fantastic car, and make a lot of people happy. This is a long video, but I think it points out a lot of good details.
Overall, for the price I paid, I think I stole it. The quality is fantastic, the shocks work extremely well, and keep in mind this is a brand new company, first 10 cars. It's pretty remarkable what Robby Gordon and his team have accomplished. I'm stoked to be apart of the first test drive, which is a part of history for the brand.
Comment below, if you have any questions I may not have answered, thanks for watching, and check out our products below.
Here is the link from the Friday reveal party.

The people criticizing the Speed UTV for its current bugs and problems are the same guys that are installing bulkheads and double shearing all the components on their brand new X3’s 😂 And this is coming from a current Can am owner. Each car has its weakness so of course this car will have some issues that will need attention as they are put to the test.

This video alone is proving how successful these cars will be. They have everyone's attention. That is a massive achievement all on it's own. We live in a world chalked full of experts that are still working hourly jobs. When you have those people flocking towards every post centered around your product the sales will come easy. Personally it's tough to ignore those people's lack of education. I'm a fighter. To pull punches and walk away from an idiot is really tough. But this entire process has been very eye opening to me as a small business owner. It's easy to regurgitate one liners but to actually come to terms with the fact that negative attention is good attention in business... yeah that's harder than people know. I'm learning though.

I agree with you and find it hard not to argue with the willfully ignorant. I am always willing and love to have an informative discussion about these machines. And I don't understand how, after looking at all the facts, design, and intent behind it between all three options, being analytical and using critical thinking skills, I came to the choice of the Speed, but I'm the "fanboy" and a "Robby nut swinger". I got better at just staying out of it and to stop arguing with a wall. Stupid people make me mad. But taking that step back, I noticed every SxS group I am in are constantly posting and talking about Speed. For now, I think all the negative regurgitated bs is hurting to a degree. But in the long run, once all the bugs are worked out and there are thousands of cars running around, people will take notice and will get support.

I think if we all took a look back at how Polaris and can am started off we can find plenty of mistakes. This small team starting and entire new brand on this level and scale is incredible it would take someone that’s and entrepreneur to understand and respect the process. his reputation is on the line and that’s what drove him to do this in the first place this is also why people will be treated first class when it comes to sorting out the issues that come up. Honestly I think it would be cool to be a part of the first group of buyers like you guys and get to ride with the CEO’s, engineers, tuners, mechanics and all that would be cool not many people can say that. Great honest review Nick thanks for the content.

Really its not hard to make a UTV better then a CanAm or a Polaris, as all that have ever owned them and really used them know they are just junk, belts suck, suspension breaks, everything junk. I have talked to countless people who prerun Baja and have rental companies in the Baja that have changed over to the Honda Talon and simply do not have all these problems and no belts to wear out or break as it has a proper gearbox. Good on Robbie for making the Speed one but I feel he's trying to re-invent the wheel. Time will tell.

Hello, and thank you for the review. I got to see you climb in your car at the grand opening. I have my deposit on one as well. Overall, this car has extreme potential. With that said, there were some things that really bothered my wife and I. I am a quality assurance engineer and wrenched my entire life-so naturally, I see things that others don’t at times. I was disappointed with some things on the cars. The exterior fit and finish was disappointing and the assembly was disappointing as well. A $70k car shouldn’t have peeling away graphics, or marring on the control arms or the cage from assembly and/or tooling. For example, on several cars, the cages looked like old seat posts of a bicycle frame with the zig-zagged scratches resulting from the twisting back and forth action trying to pull it apart. The window net clamps were slid over the cage in a similar fashion during installing which caused this same type of scratching. I can go on but, Robby needs to focus on establishing a quality management system because I can tell the manufacturing processes are not yet mature.

Couple of questions if you don't mind... 1. Do you know the specs on the stock factory full skid plate? 2. Sounded like a lot of noise from squeaking, rattles and suspension noise on the video. Do you feel it is more, less or about the same as the other SXSs? 3. Did your car come with 32" or 33" tires? Thanks! David #3385

The plug-in for the headset is on the dash next to the radio. Normally, helmets only have a short plug coming out it. You need the extension cable to go from your headset to the dash plug-in. If you get an over the head ear muff style head set, they usually have that longer cable already.

@@ChupacabraOffroad Rick was telling me the same thing. We had just gotten back from baja and had a blast. Is 4 seat can am is pretty well built. So with that being said from what I’ve seen it looks like the car handles very good. We have been talking about doing the Az peace trail. I know you have done that ride a couple times. Did you get GPS notes for the ride ? Looks like a fun time. You definitely look like you know what your doing with suspension. I have been following your IG account and KZread account for a long time. Your content is awesome. Looking forward to your future videos on the speed car. Thanks Nick.

I got this old vehicle mounted thermal camera that i thought about using on the car. Do you think theres room between the driver and passenger to have a 7" screen at the right edge of the center consel but angled towards the driver? I was hoping this car would be fairly roomy compared to an x3 or xx.

It's hard to ignore a brand new car needing towed within the first 20 miles, regardless of the reason, especially when you take into account the totality of everything that's been going on. I don't think people would be so forgiving to take home a Pro R and have to tow it home on the first ride. That being said, I'd love to have one if they prove reliability and access to replacement parts. Car certainly looks awesome and I love that you can shift gears on the fly. That is huge for me.

Sounds like most the issues are just poor qc on the china end. On the other hand robby has been with those cars since they were concieved in china and these are gunna be the most inspected cars out of the entire production. I know when i get my car, im gunna look everything over before i ride it. I was hoping of all things the gas gauge would be accurate cause it bugs me on long rides when it reads empty for half the ride so i end up driving like a grandma when i wanna go fast and enjoy my ride.
