    Loved going to Glamis, but I haven't been in about 10 years. Just got into a place where I can get in the dunes again. Has there been an uptick in bad drivers? I notice around my area, a lot more people are trying to offroad and it's become a cesspool for bad drivers and UTV accidents. Is this also the case for Glamis, or is it still relatively the same as a decade ago?

  • @ChupacabraOffroad
    @ChupacabraOffroad5 күн бұрын

    Many would say that, IDK if it's true. The SxS now allows a lot more people to get out and dune, compared to the older ATV/ buggy days. With more people comes more drivers good and bad. Glamis will bite if you get out into the dunes and run out of talent, but with 4wd and good HP it's also a great way to learn the sport. Covid also got a lot of new people into outdoor activities. Most of what you see on social is accidents, but I've been on lots of trips and not seen any drama.

    I have a K2. 230cc. Its held up nicely and is a great bike in comparison to all other off-brands I've had. In person, it looks and feels nice. It has power and electric start. I have noticed the kick start is extremely hard to use. I can't kick it hard enough to start it. Mine does not have break aways or hand guards. My son rides the k2 as if it's an all out race bike. With other brands like tao tao, the kayo is def an upgrade. Forget paying $14k for a honda. My local Honda dealer carried a few kayos on hand but not a full inventory. They basically have a few for the few of us that don't have deep pockets. I'm a little disappointed that kbb and others don't list the kayo as a brand.

    Wouldn't hurt, it would be very difficult for me given how tight it fits and with the sway bar hitch I don't notice it getting out of hand behind my diesel. I personally think this is a bigger deal on a flatbed trailer.

    I hate to be "that guy"......but here is the thing that bugs the crap out of me with these toy haulers (pull or 5th wheel)...the lack of cargo carrying capacity. Using the spec sheet you provided a link to, this trailer has a CCC of 3663 lbs. Your Speed weighs no less that 2550 (per Speed). Then add in the "options" which are not included in the CCC, like your generator at 250lbs (?), presuming a 40g fuel tank (240lb + tank itself), plus whatever you add for your personal effects. Oh and don't forget if you have a full water tank (800 lb). I bet once you load the Speed and all the other "necessary" stuff, you're in the neighborhood of 1,000 lbs overweight. I hope this trailer serves you well (and that wrap is very cool!) but this is something that is constantly overlooked (or ignored) by the consumer.

    Good stuff I have a 2020 attitude 2814ss fifth. First trip out with my cam am XRS 2 seat inside the load shifted and ripped my cabinet door off. I have the sxs tie down game on lock now but what a costly mistake. I can fit the sxs, two full sized dirts, a pw50, and crf125f. But it took a lot of work to figure it all out. Like this setup only issue is having a slide out in the main living room is clutch for entertainment with kids and getting geared up. But bumper pull you could always put bikes in the back and limit the risk of machines rubbing on each other which I’ve experienced and sucks but it’s all part of the experience when you stack as much as you can in a trailer haha good Video nick. Still running your mirrors now 4 years strong no issues

  • @johnm7340

    One thing to consider is your right mirror hitting the underside of the cabinet being that close when you have movement underway towing - tying it down with limited shock movement will be a must. Tire nets, like Mac's will keep the tires on the ground - but the car will move on the suspension. Love the overall set up and considered a Genesis as well. I was looking at the 32 which had a slide - but when I took it to weigh it at certified scale before I purchased it weighed 10,2xx lbs. +/- dry vs MFG est. of 9.332 - which did not leave enough payload for Pro R, water, stuff etc. Ended up with ATC trailer which was lighter and more payload and also room from any SXS. Didn't see the 27 floor plan back in 21 when looking at one - but that is a great layout and will be great for family trips!

    You might be able to adjust the stopping pin on the bunk bed motor. Some toy hauler manufacturers will have that as an option with predrilled holes for the pins along the rails and marks to move the stopping pin up 1 inch. That extra inch may make it so you can leave your bottom bed up. I did this to a few toy haulers I’ve owned. Every inch matters.

    I’ve had my Genesis 2715 for two years now. The only difference between mine and this one is mine has the slide out. It fits my 4 seat can am x3 turbo rr with the sand tires no problem. The bunk beds clear the roof in the up position. It’s been a great trailer so far. I can now camp out for a week with my family comfortably. We did add a second ac in the bedroom to help out when it’s 115 in Havasu during the summer. It’ll cool to High 60’s low 70’s with both of them running 😂

    I bought an MGM toy hauler with 74” clearance and the sales guy said it would fit a 21 RZR Turbo S at 72” no problem but it rubbed the walls. I ended up having to buy an extra set of thin street tires to make it fit in the front. It’s a little bit of a pain having to swap tires so try to get the clearance squared away before you buy. you will absolutely hate that "Yamaha" generator, its made by NPS using a Yamaha engine. They designed it with so much airflow, the noise is actually louder than the engine running.
