Last year we had great water clarity in Grand Isle but this is unbelievable born and raised 52 years in La have never seen offshore that clear!

Shallow offshore not speaking of deeper water 200 foot plus can be crystal but not under 100 feet that’s usually not

Those grey triggerfish off the rigs are delicious

The breathing control is what freaks me out the most. Even the sharks if it's your day it's your day and nothing you can do to change faith. But the breathing control is remarkable to hold your breath that long is amazing to me. Respect from Houston Texas.

More than likely the great vis was the result of a hurricane scouring the bottom of sediment. It could take a bit for the turbidity to settle but once it does it gets that good.

Awesome video! Fishing out of Grand Isle is insane. The only thing that beats it are the big tuna out of Venice. I really need find someone to tag along with, to get started spearfishing. Being landlocked, north of New Orleans, people who spearfish aren't exactly easy to come by.

Great video. Do you ever sell a spot on the boat for a beginner.? I snorkel and have shot ling, snapper, etc.. in Texas. Usually 50-60 miles out of Matagorda. I would love to ride with you guys on a trip and see how you free dive so deep. I need to learn.

Lionfish were really becoming an issue with commercial divers. You could usually find them deeper than the first elevation. Some guys would kill them with their rig axes. We were inspecting platforms all over the gulf in 2021 and hardly saw any. My guess is some fish like the trigger finally figured out they were food and buy felisha!

Everything is eaten. All the divers divide the fish up for themselves and then for friends/family. On this trip the cobia were sold commercially for restaurants to serve.
