Just a bit of advise, you didn't miss that carp with the bow because of depth, you missed because you aimed directly at where it looked to be. Always aim below where you see the fish. Because of the way light refracts, when it hits the water, the fish appears to be a little farther (or higher) than it actually is. You'll hit more fish by aiming a little under them, when bow-fishing.

I'm your biggest fan

I have been a spearo for the better part of 30 years and I’d like to offer some friendly advice for what you are doing. Your shooting style doesn’t match a mid handle gun. If you want to hunt the way you are hunting go with a smaller diameter spear and a Euro style gun, maybe 70-90 cm. Also your trigger safety sounds like it needs work it’s too loud. You are carrying air in your snorkel as you dive and it’s noisy drop your mouthpiece before you descend so the snorkel clears on its own and doest trap air. You are presenting the tip too early, a gun that size should be kept closer to your body. When you see a grouping of fish like that don’t descend into them descend away to the side and let them relax and come to you. They will get curious and drift into you and then turn to keep angles off of a predator. You will get better results and less thrashing by the fish if you place she shy behind the gill plates. Ideally when you make the shot you will hear it’s spine “click” on the spear. Body shuts like you are doing will attract sharks in salt water and should be avoided. When hunting inside structure like oil rigs or wrecks this is important as you don’t want to swim inside structure to get a wounded fish. Happy spearing mate!

Love that you're getting out carp... keep going back for more. You can always donate them to local food banks. whenever I go fishing I never toss em back. They destroy fish beds with their eggs... either they go in my garden or the raccoons get to eat them. Those needlenose gar are gorgeous. I used to have one.. you are def way more brave than i... my hands never went near it.

@Spearfishing vs Fishing no unfortunately I haven't. I'm usually at a local pond that is on a golf course lol. I think they would frown at that, since they already don't like it when I'm there. I'll have to try it when I finally move to a private pond this spring/summer. How long have you been spearfishing?

My favorite so far. Would of liked to see you handing off the fish to the families and seeing you sit down with them and try a tiny bite. Would like to see more similar......

Use a light rod with bread or corn on and site fish them, crazy fight!!!!

It is plenty to use 1 rubber band at this range, using more makes it very easy to bend the arrow when hunting in rocky places... I have learned this the hard way when spearfishing in Norway, aalesund. great channel keep it up! greetings from Norway! :)

Life Flight 101 I’ve eaten quite a few carp. The silver ones or grass carp are really good to eat. They have nice white meat and taste quite nice. The gold ones taste like shit but are incredible catfish bait.

Steps for cleaning carp 1) Cut out all the red meat, which contains the most oil and is responsible for what some people call the 'muddy' taste of carp; 2) Score fillets deeply, three-quarters of the way through, so the heat or cooking oil can get in and disintegrate the floating bones inside; 3) Or, follow a diagram of where the floating bones are and either score through or remove that part of the fillet.

No such thing as trash fish? Mud cats, shad, gar, freshwater drum, Buffalo, AND carp! Why are they trash fish?
