SPEAR FISHING Ultra Clear Water in TEXAS!! (Catch Clean Cook) Shore Lunch

Ойын-сауық

Spear fishing in Texas is one of the coolest things that I have ever done. To be able to spear fish in a river in Texas is like a dream come true. Ultra clear water and tons of fish equals tons of fun. We both missed way more than we hit and unfortunately the big one got away. We ended the day with a total of ten fish. We made some of the best fish tacos I have ever had on the river bank using a little critter glitter. I hope you all enjoyed this video as much as I did making it.

Not in TX, but in similar crystal clear rivers in the mountains of Nuevo Leon, MX in the 80s. People there made spears out of old ford trucks radio antenas sharpened or would do a 3 to 5 spikes from bike rim spokes. Doing it at night with a flashlight is a lot a fun too. There were no laws there on catfish or bass, but you would mosty get rio grande perch and tilapias. We would marinated in garlic sauce and deep fried whole in a plow disk till the bones get crispy.

MM, try heating those tortillas up a bit in the bottom of that buttery pan. It will bring out the flavor of the tortilla and make for an even tastier fish taco 🌮🌯

We used to spearfish around the docks at PK with old aluminum arrows, homemade points and bungee cords. Not nearly as cool as that clear water in South Texas but still fun.

I made a bad ass spear with a graphite golf club, 10 inch piece of round bar, a eye bolt, quick steel and a sling shot rubber band Iv floated and walked the creeks for 100s of hours with my buddy’s and Spears and speared 100s of fish my self! It definitely is one of the most peaceful types of hunting you can do and areas of creeks you would think is sketchy or scary to swim into is actually very beautiful and nothing to it but a few fish swimming around in it with you!

I grew up just up the road from there and worked that place in the summer as a kid. If you’d of seen that place 20+ years ago it was so much better. It was a lot deeper than it is now and deep all along that back side where you were parked. The bluff fell in about 23 hrs ago or so ago and with the flood we got it filled in all the deep holes. We used to pull 40+ lb catfish out of there and the bass fishing used to be amazing. Either way..awesome video. Keep it up.

Paul Mccrory you’re exactly right buddy. The pole spears would’ve been great for the fish we got. They aren’t real good for the tilapia in that river because the last flood washed out the grass so the fish never really stage up however, I messed up and left the pole spears at home.
