I am a former rescue/shelter volunteer, who has an 2.5 yo intact female labradoodle (the pumpkin spice latte of dogs!) and has been debating spay for over a year. I can still hear Bob Barker too lol. I would LOVE to get her tubes cut, but my looking indicates the cost is ~10 times a routine spay. : (
