Spanian constantly surprises me with his vocabulary, astute view points and world view for someone who barely finished school. He’s super impressive & as usual Mark you nailed the conversation and didn’t tip toe around questions in front of the 6ft4 giant that is Spanian haha

The concept of the fair dinkum Aussie has changed over the years. Spanian is a melting pot of cultures, yet he encaptulates the true blue Aussie spirit and intruduces a new generational twist to it. This interview shows that both men have a deep respect for each other, and an empathy born of shared experience. Perhaps one day we'll see a movie about Anthony Lees life journey, he's nothing short of an inspiration whatever the demographic.

I read Spanians book - he had an incredibly traumatic childhood. He may not see it as that but it was fucking rough. Not many can break the cycle, I can’t put down a man who successfully does. I can imagine how many spiteful old mates he would have.

As a 45 year old woman I'm a bit out of Spanians average viewer. I'm from Melbourne and his video on Alice Springs and Darwin just blew me away. Both such important videos. I can't help but wonder how awesome he would be/or maybe is as a mentor/support/guide for other men and boys coming out of gaol or close to going in.

This is the thing about 'formal' education. You dont need that necessarily to navigate the world. All you need is how to problem solve. Where to find information and the basics of an idea. The rest can be done for you. There are tax systems that do your tax. There are places on the web to get info on videography and editing. He has the back ground on the subject matter and experience in the subject matter to make it interesting. And his honesty is refreshing.

Mark, I've got to tell you man, your interview with Spanian has been the most enjoyable to date. I'm in 35 - mid 40's range of Spanian's audience and come from a pretty similar background as Span. I enjoy the questions about his criminal activity and all that as much as everyone else but you asked the full on pertinent questions that fans of Spanian's story and come up want to know about. Jubelin's interview was dope for the criminal activity questions, Tahax Sayed's interview takes the cake for questions pertaining to the music and your interview reigns supreme for questions regarding the man himself and where he's come from to where he's heading. Mad props Mark. You've just earned another sub my brah. Keep it eets my brah!!

I've done time with Spaniard back in...I think it was 2013,14, or 15ish, at Old Silverwater or DDL.. Hahaha we worked (stole food) in CSI Kitchen. We weren't besties but I've played chess with him and trained together abit. And when I say 'trained' we didn't spot each other or nothing we just had similar yard routines bc we were both popular and boys wanted to roll wit us all day but like me, he did laps on his own and do gym by himself. Using the gym by ourselves but U can't hog it and between sets we share with other men. I gotta admit Spaniard, fk I still don't know ur real name, for a long time no one can beat my roundhouses and shin kicks. But to my shock and horror when we shared the sandbag and I saw your first kick, only then did I know the meaning of 'theres always someone better.' Damn brother you got the most hardest and also the the best technique I've seen on anyone, hands down. Do a vid on that bro. Congrats on all your success kuz, you're a top bloke and deserve every bit. Much respect for ya. OH YEA, LOL TELL THE STORY OF HOW YOU GOT TIPPED FROM DDL 😂 RINGLEADER OF THE GREENS WORKERS UNION, REMEMBER? WE ALL WENT ON STRIKE, NO-ONE GO TO WORK 😂 Fkn hel 5 day lock in and they tipped all of us! 😂 Anyways all the best mate...and one day IM GETTING MY REVENGE AND REMATCH BUDDY...in a game of chess! Lol fuk I'm still dirty on you beating me 2 games in a row haha

Great use of his knowledge from his past to be used for something good for our present society. Though it's sad not a lot of people are taking the time to listen to different perspectives. 😮‍💨

Spanian is a natural. I have just finished watching his podcast with Graham Henry, awesome, one hour long and Graham was only just getting warmed up. Now he’s on the other side of the mic, what a legend

Yes Thankyou, the best interview of Spanian, of anyone that has ever interviewed the man ever. You got the man. 8 mins in, you got the truth of the values of the main made man I believe is to be spanian. He messed up And done his time and now he’s changing lives hood, by hood, showcasing the government’s downfalls. One hood at a time. By accident in some respects. Because the man just wants to showcase and tell the world that his childhood is happening in your own backyards, change is possible but you all don’t wanna listen. He didn’t ask for the cards he was delt but the cards could have been a lot different, if people could see first hand the level of disconnect in their own communities.
