Cool to see ex crim and a ex cop just having good chat. Just as 2 men.

This is by far the highest quality spanian interview out there. I had big hopes for friendly jordies, but it didn't hit. Jordies went too meta for span. Issac Butterfield is just a right wing flop who was like a goofy teenager learning about bad kids for the first time... This interview (and I'm sure the background in policing helps) was actually engaging with well thought out questions that provoked spanian to question his own thoughts. Not pandering to spanian but getting a thorough understanding. Really great video, that's a like and a sub from me my bra. Keen on part 2. Keep it up 👏

You're right mate, the other interview was shithouse, the bloke was like a giddy teenage girl. Jubelin is a really good interviewer
I was at a bus stop in the city, and needed to catch the bus to a mall. I kept asking the wrong bus and he helped me; we spoke for a bit and sat near each other on the bus. He was friendly, kind and really helpful! I can’t believe that’s him 😂 I came across this video by KZread recommendation 😂 this happened this year near New Years!
Sorry Span.....I'm 67 and know who you are ❤ a great interview.....loved it, the ex crim and the ex cop 🙏🙏 I love that you have found your spiritual side. You are after all an amazing eternal soul having an earthly experience. We are all a tad lost so don't stress too much. Health and happiness to you. Eat well, sleep well and find time to look within or meditate as they say. Good luck with everything.
All jokes aside there's definitely something wrong with me 😂😂😂 that's funny

This is too good ! I am captivated and can’t wait for part two.
Loved your Book Gary and this is the best interview I’ve seen with Span. He’s a really good story teller and I appreciate his honesty.
spanian deserves all the fame and praise on the streets he gets, hes had a rough tough life and although you could say most of it was his own fault, there is no better healing and recovery than everyone around you praising you and showing you love when u walk down the street just for being yourself, i can tell hes already changed so much since he came out of jail just a few years ago.
Got a lot of respect for both of them. Came here because of Spanian and throughly enjoyed it when I saw it was with ex detective Gary. Great podcast
Great interview , can't wait for part 2.
Spanians honesty is so refreshing no excuses just brutally honest 💪👌
ColussssssssssssssssAAAAA This man is changing lives he doesn’t even know about, so many young ones looking up to him and are starting to look at life different due to him speaking out, love ya work Spanian keep on being you mate, a true Australian is what I think of when I think of you, crime is just about of your passed, Spanian for PM
Of all the interviews with Spanian Garry you are the best man for it. No cop lover by any means but you sir have my utmost respect for the man and the investigator you all
It wasn't until my brother was looking at buying a ground floor apartment did I realise Spanian's crime videos were more of a community service announcement. I told my brother about his videos and how crims target ground floor apartments because they're easier to break in. It's all about perspective.
Great interview, appreciate the honesty, what a story.
Awesome interview, Spanian is a legend, big props for Gary aswell another loving Legend, love this channel!!!
Good to see Spanian getting all these interviews.
Best spanian interview by far mate. Good job you actually asked questions that had spanian stumped and had to think of a realistic and not pre fabbed answer he's already had in his head like other interviews.
Well done Spanian, it takes a really strong person to turn it all around. I understand how hard it is to turn around a hard hand dealt. I have had to do it myself in my 30’s cause my 20’s were just so hard. Some people never do it even though I believe that any person can turn their life around, if they put their mind to it. You are an inspiration to so many and I am so glad my son got me onto your videos ❤️
Jubey, I'm half way through your book and this came up. I've been meaning to watch your podcasts this is perfect
Gary has always been a legend, but this podcast is going to be a treasure. Great job on getting the Spanian on mate. Subscribed.
Just a quick shout out too Gary for this amazing podcast I think this is the best one yet and I believe if you podcast with cops one night and crimz the next to get a better understanding of it all from both sides and crimz that have actually got some exciting juicey stories 😀 🤜🏼🤛🏼🇦🇺
Solid interview and good pressure in the questions

"Stabbing things, this and that" - haha? Interesting life and great to see him turn his life around. Like Spanian has said, "I'm one of the lucky ones".
Great interview Gary
Captivating listen! Kudos to Gary for turning what was a negative, the end of your policing career, into positive through your media work, especially the podcasts - first began to take a liking to you through your work with Australian True Crime Podcast (Highly recommend ALL of their episodes). Kudos to Spanian for making the necessary changes to take your life in a positive direction whilst not losing your identity. RESPECT to both gentleman and thank-you for this podcast - will be listening to part II in the near future. B@Peace!

Imagine if cops were this open about the dirt they do when they lose it. Most cops have a criminal side that slips out from time to time. They keep it in check better than crooks, and tend to get cover ups or light punishment. Cops do a hell of a job most of the time, but they have the predator/hunter inside them too.
Love this podcast host. He is unique, inquisitive, open minded and pleasant to listen to. I'm going to subscribe.

You are one of the good ones Gary! And I do NOT usually like cops. Because they ant like you Detective Jubelin 😊
Spanian is the realest of the real, he openly talks about his past and doesn't regret a thing because that made him who he is today, and who is today is actually something to look up to in a way, and that way is no matter who you are or where you came from you can turn your life around and be better then you were a year ago

Its very interesting to me when Gary asked questions about how was his childhood and where did the crime start. I've been saying this with the current youth crime issues that its often generational cycles or traumas. Also you can see how Spanian had to really think about this and pause around questions about seeing a psychologist. I imagine if we started more trauma informed therapy at early intervention stages like juvi
Interesting chat with Spanian.
Great interview mate
Great interview spanian….Gary jubelin is one of the best cops this country is seen….good too see you boys sit down for a chat 👍
This interview was basically the entire breakdown of Spanians book verbatum, in exact book order. I'm suprised Spanian sat there and had the patience to re-iterated every sentence in his book...
Shout out Wilcannia and Gilgandra✊🏼
Awesome yarn . Do 1 with moudi tajjour . B some mean stories there 2
Isn’t this guy one of the police officers on that 60 minutes show with Liz Hayes? Did he catch Paul Denyer ? I can’t remember if he was one of the officers
Yeah. This is good!
What he has taught me is to look out for signs of people who might be about to do "scallywag behaviours", if anything hes helped my life to become safer and he is a brave bloke to be as open as he is and everyone should give him the time.

Surprized to hear him mention Wilcannia and Gilgandra, but also, not really. I'd love to hear more about Wilcannia, Australia likes to pretend it doesnt exist.
It's sad that people grow up in an Environment where they only know and learn about being a criminal. It takes a long time to realise that it's actually easier to live a normal life being a good civilian.
Good tales, interesting
Yeh his videos at first were a little weird/funny etc but he’s come a long way to the point he asked if swearing is allowed on this podcast.. mad respect ✊

There are filthy dogs on both teams but yes it’s nice too see the stigma of cops v crimes being challenged.
That's it... Its not a justification for the wrongs, but In reality it's extremely likely the desire to rebel or value that lifestyle is something that environment massively influences... If the first time you see someone steal like a shirt or something Ur 16 yrs old and you lived a semi sheltered life with close guidance from good role models who genuinely care about you and would be deeply dissapointed in you for doing bad things, then the gravity of someone stealing a 20 dollar shirt is significant to that person, to another person whose parents are on herroin stealing while the baby And pram become the hiding place, ur visiting relatives or parents in jail etc then that same situation at 12 yrs old , there is not even a second thought about stealing a shirt..... Obviously there is exceptions to the rule but it's pretty hard fact you put a baby into almost any situation and will become accustomed to the norms of its surroundings. The ones who do escape toxic communities for the vast majority of the time did have someone else maybe a relative or teacher who helped them or gave them the idea and positively reinforced them to seek better standards... But it's the extreme minority, even things like nutrition play a major part in exacerbating these problems and most of the time if Ur parents are on herroin Ur probably living on fruit loops or McDonalds
My sister ,who also was into the gear, said she would own heaps of houses if she had the same drive to make money as she did for the gear
Gary is just the best.
How smart you have to be to separate yourself from yourself and talk about it from the higher level of mind and spirit and create a complete new you but still be that guy from Sydney. To me this is so positive story life and inspiring for all….the sky is a limit 👍and never give up.
