Ship 31 rolls to Masseys. Will it spark this time? Tower 2 on the move! When Stack? A not-so-reusable launch pad. How will they fix it? Another hurricane on its way. Only this time, it's big! And a Chinese rocket performs a not-so-static, static fire.

My guess is one of the latter two, as a troll would've followed up after multiple people corrected them, informing that it was actually 100% successful considering the objective was solely days acquisition... but also that everything preformed _BEYOND_ expectations. I had a company in China. And while looking for a quality highrise office building we found the employees uncharacteristically reticent. When we finally got them to speak up, it came out that none of them trust the construction of any important build. They were afraid to go in the building. As it is Chinese ulture today to cut corners with substandard work, my guess is some constractor used substandard material or construction in order to pocket some of the money (standard Chinese culture today -- how to get richer by putting out a cheaper product).

We shouldn't be surprised that they are copying the Falcon 9, cause they copy just about everything else. I always thought it was funny that companies that want to keep their profit margins will outsource their manufacturing to China, then while they are making your product they will make fakes lol.

    Storm Update: It looks like the upper level low just off the coast of Brownsville will steer the storm along a more northerly path. This puts landfall between Matagorda bay and Galveston bay. A path like this puts Starbase on the "clean" side of the storm. Unfortunately, that means that dang thing is headed right for me. And a note on the pilings for the second pad: they are not sufficiently long to reach bedrock. Bedrock is over 250 feet down at Starbase. They only have to go down far enough so the friction between the piling and sand is sufficient to hold the weight without sinking further. Many large buildings have foundations like this. A west coast building (San Francisco or Portland, I can't remember which) hit bedrock on one side of the building, but not the other. The imbalance has caused the building to lean to one side by 5 feet at the top floor. They expected no bedrock anywhere and didn't update their design once the did hit bedrock.

    Nice spot of the Charybdis vessel 6:56 Altought it has nothing to do with SpaceX because it is a Wind Turbine Installation Vessel I am happy to see it because I work for Huisman, the company which built the 2200mt Leg Encircling Crane you can see in the video. 🎉

    Maybe the elon-gated starship v2/v3 doesn’t require taller tower if the OLM is lower. The flame trench could be under ground level, like in Massey

    Hi, and thanx for all past and future info 😃 Is it possible that the new design of OLM-2 is lower than OLM-1? That will make the available height for ships/boosters greater without increasing the total height 🤔

    In regards to the taller tower, instead of and extra tower section do you think the launch mount will be closer to the ground like they have at the test site above the flame trench?

    Smart call is a shorter launch mount. As much sub terrain as possible. Then all maintenance can be done near ground level and fewer exposed papers and fittings.

    Not in that location - the water table is just a few feet under the ground (2 ft or so), so sinking stuff into the ground will create its own set of problems, e.g. keeping salt water out...

    18:38 It isn't their first rocket that fell on or near residential areas. The only thing that will be learned from this is how to better secure a rocket for a static fire. Safety for the people in the area has and will never be on their radar.

    Hey Felix keeps us informed about Hurricain Beryl Preparations: As of 12 noon on July 5, the Primary track of Beryl is moving more northerly, and looks like it will go directly over Starbase at about 7 am Monday. It could reach Cat 5. What preps is Starbase doing? Will they bring down the Cranes? I'm hoping Beryl will veer a lot more north.

    Concrete is the way to go, using as joins that can be replaced custom structures. That way less heat on the main structures of steel or metal they use

  • @DUKE_of_RAMBLE

    @DUKE_of_RAMBLE

    If you're talking about the OLM... the _current_ one is also concrete, but has metal sheets as armor to protect it from the heat and shockwaves during launch - both of which are what destroyed the concrete under the rocket during IFT-1's launch and prompted them to install the water deluge system under it _(aka the Rocket Bidet)_ OLM ver2 will undoubtedly *also* have metal cladding. (as depicted in the fan-made speculative renders)
