    @@treenetweaves Hemp would be my first guess but bamboo fibers might also be worth exploring. Natural hemp string and rope aren't as visually stimulating though and might need to be recontitioned from time to time.

    @@ratiounkn3210 well I can't make rope at all. but human kind has used hemp fibers for thousands of years. the issue is that it's prone to get moldy unless impregnated with stuff that stink even worse than the hemp rope itself. At least that's my experience but hopefully there are ways around it that I don't know about.

    Alonso, after watching all of your instructional videos I'm planning a large tree net idea for my back yard, and I have a few questions. First, I am planning to use the Paracord galaxy link you provided for the bulk paracord, but I'm having a hard time finding a place to get bulk static climbing rope for the perimeter. Do you recommend anywhere specifically? Second, I am planning on making one large trampoline like section that has around a 100 ft perimeter, do I need to have perimeter line crossing through the center for strength or would the 550 be able to handle the load of a dozen people or so? Third, you mentioned using good sturdy hardwood trees for the anchor points in one of your videos, but I live in the Pacific Northwest and am limited to some good-sized Douglas Firs as my anchor points. Do you think that that will be a problem?

  • @treenetweaves

    @treenetweaves

    I’m looking into a reputable cost-effective rope solution but I don’t have one quite yet… I get all my rope in bulk so it comes out cheaper but it’s difficult otherwise.. Stay tuned for that 😊 A dozen people (especially adults) is quite a bit of weight… Just make sure your trees are strong enough for it 😊 I’m sure the Paracord will be fine!

    Couple questions: would it be easier to buy nets and modify them? How big of an issue is material fatigue such as sun rot?

  • @treenetweaves

    @treenetweaves

    10 ай бұрын

    1) It really depebds. You can most certainly buy one and just fix it up every now and then. 2) Sun rot will be an issue over the years. It’s especially an issue on the neon colors so try to avoid those on nets that will be left out for long periods in the sun.

    Hi alonso, me and a friend are about to make a large rectangular spacenet, I notice that the skeleton is thinner in mm than the perimeter roper but thicker than the paracord. Are we still meant to use static rope like the one used for the perimeter for the skeleton? would appreciate a speedy response pleaseeee are we are starting soon ha!

    As somebody who's had surgery for carpal tunnel. This makes me appreciate this craft that you do so much more because working with hand issues can be so hard. I had lost 99% of feeling in one hand and 40% in the other but the pain was 1000% I couldn't even hold my paintbrushes. Your work is amazing and I'm building a net between 2 bunk beds (I hope) after watching your videos.
