I have heard several people use Mr and Mrs Flat( e.g Rob Bell), but no one ever came close to explaining this concept as well as Dr Hugh Ross.

Great talk. And thank you for showing the slides as well. So often we see only the speaker and when s/he refers to something important on the slides we cannot see it. 😊😀

Could it be Heaven is a place (for lack of abetter word) where the laws of physics don't apply. Where every Time is Now, and every Place is Here?

I am first commenting here. So good as i admire hugh ross so much. To any question about why god allows this or that: first, God let him be flagellated terribly, crucified for us. Second he gives us freedom. If a god so powerful lets say a hair of him is bigger than earth for instance, stands close and starts telling us don’t do that or this, we would not love him, most of we will obey him, but how to know who really loves him, we won’t be happy if we obey because we have and not because we want

In the novels there were many characters who could envision multiple timelines that could develop as the result of their actions. God could better, He could see all the interactions from all our varied choices.

It's just so much more interesting knowing he's an astrophysicist when a lot of them would deny God's existence, even if God was standing in front of them.

Very happy to hear Dr. Ross speak of the possibility of life being on other planets. I disagree, however, that the Bible teaches that Earth is the only planet that can have physical, intelligent beings that have a spirit in need of redemption. There could be other planets with creatures that have fallen, but for whatever reason God does not extend mercy to them (think of the fallen angels). I am not saying that God would arbitrarily pass over such beings, but there could be a reason why He withholds redemption from them. Or it could be, that they, like animals on earth, are waiting with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. In hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. There could also be beings similar to us, or rather to the angels of God, that have not fallen, and are not in need of redemption.

Hi Hugh, your main error I believe lies in your presumption that “man’s will” is absolutely independent and sovereign, and that we then, given this “indisputable fact”, must try to figure out how we can give some importance to Yahweh’s less important, less Sovereign Will. How do we make Yahweh’s Will work, given the “fact” that man’s will is supreme above all things? How can He work His Will into this also? But that is backwards. Yahweh’s Will is the One that is Absolute, and man’s will is only given to him by Yahweh, created and designed to be and do what it is and does. It is not something that man himself self creates. He only “wills” according to what Yahweh has forced upon him. While you are not yet aware of the True Gospel, you did preach it in one partial sentence on page 144. It’s apparent, I believe, that you do not realize this, but here is the Real Gospel: “his capacities to hear everyone’s prayers simultaneously and to atone for humanity’s sin in one sacrificial act.” Sound familiar? That’s what you said Hugh! That’s the Gospel in a nutshell, “to atone for humanity’s sin in one sacrificial act.” Although you don’t believe He actually did this, you still preached it, speaking outside of yourself. My prayer is that Yahweh reveals this Wonderful News to you, and soon! Amen.

So by 4'40" he's already made a load of baseless assertions that of course go right over the heads of his non-academic audience. Book-selling snake oil at its most disingenuous.
