Space Station Silicon Valley [16] Big Celebration Parade

Ойындар

We're big because the planet shrunk. Which lends itself to a whole other series of future problems. But maybe it wore off over time.
This ends my "Games I have a score to settle with" for now. There are certainly more games I could do, but next time we'll be returning to something else.

Time to finish it up! 8:27 - 8:32 - Awkward... The mastermind needs to work on his wording. 8:57 - 9:03 - That was simple. 16:57 - 17:02 - Victory! This has been a pretty neat game to watch in action.

I think this is an interesting concept that someone could tweak and refine to make a real interesting and fun game.

So yeah, seven minutes into the space station becoming active the brain AI they installed went off the rails spent 1000 years away from the earth, then came back while plotting to destroy it and well the prior expeditions managed to stop the station until Evo started it moving again in one of the levels by activating a particular switch. So the space stations AI kind of went just a little bit... mad scientist? Well being a brain it kind of wanted Evo's body and Evo Himself after watching them go through the station, on top of trying to have the mechanimals collect them. Evil Brain is Bob the Goldfish levels of difficult to beat! Computer cores give health bonus, different final appearance and maybe extra time in the final level, some mechanimals are more dangerous than others in the final battle so the extra health is nice. Speaking of, the final battle is just destroying a bunch of Mechanimals with laser vision, kaiju style... that's it... that is all it is. Go Blast Corps on those mechanimals and heal where necessary, this might even be somewhat cathartic to some people who've played through this wonky game. Dan Danger selling the rights to the ending scene of the game makes sense in context I guess, after all the chaos Evo had to deal with Dan did kind of need a bump in funds for a new ship. Also yes, the human took credit for everything the robot does by being the one to deploy the robot and pilot a security drone, then spending the rest of the game stuck in the crashed spaceship.

Reminds me of a Warren Ellis miniseries I reminded myself about recently: Supergod. Which I need to reread properly, since the situation with an AI and programming going haywire does happen with one of the superhuman weapons they create, I believe the one in India, Krishna, which is surprisingly dangerous for being just AI and tech manipulation. But they seemingly aren't the final "victor", such as that is. I won't spoil it, but getting the trade copy will cost you $20-35 at the lower

In this episode the party enters town and the first thing you see is the Blacksmith, his right arm was removed and replaced with a literal legless wolf who is being VERY uncooperative. Memories from yesterday remind the party that the Blacksmith had two normal arms, so what in the name of bacon happened to him?

I remember reading somewhere that were was intended to be a better “ending” if you got all the souviners and power cells, where Dan is actually congratulatory to Evo. I dunno if that is true, but it does sound like something that would have been lost in this games messy finale. Space Station Silicon Valley is a pretty bad game I find, but it helps make up for it with cool ideas and personality. I hope this game can get a remaster, or at least have its ideas revisited.

Props to those who got through this on original hardware. I'd have put this down like five minutes in purely due to not wanting to wrestle with the N64's controller. This is one of those games that NEEDS a second analog stick for the camera.

Did you ever show how to get the trophy in Shifting Sands last time? (0:10) Code entered for the bonus game. Yeah, sucks that you cannot unlock this the intended way, because of how the trophy on Fat Bear Mountain is glitched. But, at least there is still an in-game method to unlock it. (1:00) Ah, so it controls like the old Defender arcade game. Yeah, it does seem rather awkward. (2:14) Oh, I remember that song. Looks like it's used to signify the end of an enemy wave here. (4:34) Ow... Are your lives or health shown anywhere on-screen? Well, that did cost you your shot upgrades. (5:38) Oof, point-blanked. Ah, so the color of your ship indicates your remaining lives, though I guess you can't tell exactly how many you have if you're at 3 or greater with the gold coloring. (5:55) Pfft... Evo must've gotten drunk there. Welp, that's it for that. (8:35) "Only I have the brains to rule Lylat!" :P (8:40) It would be nice if the game gave you ample time to read all of the walls of text. (8:56) Welp, seems the brain's jar wasn't so impervious after all. (10:54) Now's not the time to be drunk, camera. (11:14) Ah, so you have to slay 52 animals here. (11:26) Oh, and there's a time limit, which started at over 20 minutes. (12:57) Huh, a penalty for destroying an innocent, but it's just a mere 5 seconds docked from your timer. (15:04) In a fight like this, I really wish the game kept your life bar on the screen at all times. There should've been ample room somewhere on the screen to show the messages, along with how much time is left and how many enemies remain. (16:57) Alright, that's all of the animals slain! (17:06) I'm guessing this is a battle you can repeat to try for a faster time on if you so desire. (17:18) LOL, that excuse for there not being a big finale. (17:27) And that's game! (17:43) Okay, we still get a credits roll. (18:50) Yeah, I don't remember there being any real foul language in this playthrough. Perhaps you were thinking of some other game. (19:43) The cameraman should've taken lessons from SM64's Lakitu. (22:06) And also anyone playing this game now could maybe seek out a hack that fixes the trophy on Fat Bear Mountain.
