Earlf's name will be passed down in history as Link, because Earlf's name didn't sound right in the history books and the historians decided to rename him. Ganon fight. Simple. Attack him a lot until he enters his second phase, where he starts teleporting around and stomping the floor, once he got the fourth section of the floor falling out make sure to light the lower left lantern as soon as it goes out and if you do it fast enough you won't have to keep lighting them to fighting Ganon with a limited magic supply. If you don't do it fast enough then use the lantern to light the torches, because the fire rod drains magic ridiculously fast. So start firing silver arrows into Ganon after hitting them with the sword while the room is lit, as this is where the arrows become useful. Earlf, he come to town... come to save, the princess Zelda... Ganon took her away, now the children don't play, but they will when Earlf saves the day, hallelujah! Now Earlf, fill up your hearts. So you can shoot, your sword with power. When your feeling all down, fairy will come around. So you'll be brave and not a sissy coward. Now Earlf, has saved the day. Put Ganon, in his grave. Now Zelda is free, they still make fun of his name anyway, as it'll go down in history!
And that was the legend of Zelda an Earlf to the past, that was a pretty great play through :)
8:13 Yes you do. TIME TRAVEL!
In this episode we take Simsume the golden bee with a chainsaw to the end game
18:43 I did it legitimately…once. A few years ago, I sat and played the entire game, 100% complete in one long Saturday play session.
Fun fact, if you fall down after beating Gannon, you get to do the fight all over again. So, if Gannon could send a persona, who still do good deeds, into the Light world which he had all but conquered at this point, why open the seal at all? Is it ever explained why Gannondorf turns into a pig man in the dark world? (And every time he gets reserected in this timeline as well for some reason) Like, I get the mechanics of the transformation but why a pig man? Also, have to say I love the trident.

Ganon is all about Power, which also includes being excessively greedy... so imagine if you will what happens when he enters the dark world and becomes a reflection of himself compared to the heroes rabbit, you know, since engorges himself on power like a...

It's more that the Triforce of Power transforms him into that beastly form (almost like some versions of Beast from Beauty and the Beast), but I have to wonder what the Japanese was for alter ego, since kagemusha could be one possibility, which would have a whole other meaning. The seal was weakening, I think, so it kind of adds up that he could do something like that even if he couldn't break free entirely yet

Found screencaps and Aganihm is called his bunshin (which lends a bit more credence to the idea it's a weaker version of him meant to help his resurrection along), the priest of darkness, yami no shisai

Ganon just was always a pig man before OoT, probably a moblin.

what a wonderful adventure we've had together, earlf
And now... Earlf's thrilling conclusion! 7:45 - 7:56 - Victory! I vaguely remember this fight, mainly that it took more than one silver arrow to beat him. When it comes to Zelda games, "A Link To The Past" is where my own personal playing experience ends with the series. It's something I do find a little odd, although some of it might be due to the switch to 3D intimidating me a little bit(At least at the time).
Great job, Ogre! That definitely can't be right about the sword. I didn't know about upgrading the sword or the arrows in the pond and I had gotten right to the end of the fight (but no silver arrows) but obviously couldn't win. The "reset the fight completely" mechanic is SUCH BS. You can have literally killed him, be dancing on his corpse and the door to the Triforce is open, but fall down and BAM he's back at 100% health.
15:18 The butter melted off, it's fine.
Link To The Past is definitely a great game that gets seriously overshadowed by the later games, Link Between Worlds especially is just this game but better in every way. Nonetheless, this is still a special game for me as my intro to Legend of Zelda as a whole, and it still holds up.
Honestly the Goddesses feel more like real deities in the sense that they really don't get that involved in human affairs, they remain as neutral as possible, because otherwise they interfere with free will and all that stuff that gets more complicated the more interventionist a god becomes.
Venus is different from the "Fat Faerie", who's in the Pyramid of Power (so Ganon would corrupt her appearance). Venus is at the center of Lake Hylia and then there's the Waterfall of Wishing Fairy. Feel like they could've just named them Venus, Minerva and Diana, had Minerva be "cursed"

@@ToHoldNothing honestly, i assumed that she was lying about Ganon causing her to get fat, she may have been fat before Ganon's influence took hold.
I remember trying to get the Nintendo power trading card HARD rating, 000 deaths. Without half magic or potions you have to do perfect against trinex, never did it.
A Link to the Past is probably the best Zelda game for me. Link's Awakening and Oracle games are a very close second. I just couldn't get into the 3D games. I have played and beaten Ocarina of Time but I simply can't muster up the motivation to play it again given how slow it is with the unskippable cutscenes.
"En garde!" wait, they speak french in Hyrule?
@ToHoldNothing

I mean...they could have their own version of France. And Ganon tends to speak in a kind of older dialect of Japanese, it seems. I remember looking into the Japanese for his OOT stuff and even in LTTP, it definitely seems like the kind of stuff you'd hear from a big bad in a shounen anime from the 80s. For "en garde", he just says, "Yukuzo," which amounts to a challenge
In the GBA version after defeating Ganon you got the next final dungeon too do... The Palace of the Four Sword...Kinda like a boss gauntlet for any known Legend of Zelda fans and glad too they added a few stuff too the version as well...

i had that version of this game but never had anyone to play Four Swords with. I did learn a trick to get in to that palace without needing to play Four Swords, though.
Before Link Between Worlds, this was the final use of the Master Sword in this particular timeline, so it's not WRONG?

it is strange that they added that one word, "Forever", it seems unecessary, really does make it sound like the end of a series of games involving the Master Sword despite how it was the first.
I feel like the Din in Oracle of Seasons is just that, an Oracle, not any kind of incarnation of the goddess. That's reserved for another goddess...spoilers. Same with any character called Farore or Nayru, the Goddesses are separate entities that don't really manifest proper
@DragonHybryd

Capcom probably intended them to be incarnations to be fair (also probably where Nintendo yoinked the idea for spoiler goddess). Otherwise it's really strange 2/3 had clearly god-like powers (with the third being cheated given the third game never got to be made) and they're just... normal people who otherwise also happen to share the exact names and physical theming of the respective god alter egos, well running themes, up to that point in time.

@@DragonHybryd You can be granted the powers without really being divine yourself (just look at D&D Clerics/Favored Souls, etc), plus the story didn't really lean into that as much. Before those games, we really didn't have that much, to my recollection, beyond the name, color association and something akin to an element (fire, wind and water)

Link himself needs the tools to do those things and he's very much got the blessing of a goddess/goddess', but the two oracles can just will it (Din specifically choses not to ever use it, and it's fairly obvious to me Nayru made the time traveling Harp for a specific, wisdom based, in story reason) that's not joe shmoe got minor god blessing . That said both games were different in story telling, seasons was less on it and more action focused while ages was puzzle and more story based so more info can be gained from ages but seasons isn't lacking. Din is the easiest to make a connection and likely had the most time in character building. Just with skin colour alone being Gerudo based and being connected to the Triforce of power's goddess, that's ignoring clothing being obviously middle east based (like Gerudo), hair colour, being a more closely tied to belly dancing theme (still middle east which is what Gerudo were based on). Power's goddess also made the planet Hyrule is in(OoT) quite literally "cultivating the earth". That's ignoring the other two that OoT also touched on. The game's, again, were also made by Capcom specifically they absolutely didn't (and as far as I can tell still don't) shy away from these characters are just straight up connected and all you need is a name, but they clearly went the extra mile. if the development wasn't so mishandled there would probably be more cohesion, Nayru had her original design changed (being creation based also linked to OoT, but with art not water/ life) because the games were dropped to two
So when's he gonna do a randomizer? XD
It's okay to prefer OoT to LttP. You're allowed to be wrong, and I respect you for that.
