SPACE JUNK - Fast And Dangerous | SPACETIME - SCIENCE SHOW

Ғылым және технология

Humanity is leaving more and more traces in space. Every mission, every launch of a satellite means more objects in earth's orbit. Countless parts are now orbiting our planet. However, this waste also means growing danger - not only for manned spaceflight, but also for functioning satellites, on which our digital infrastructure depends. Scientist and astronaut Ulrich Walter explains what space junk is made of and how it should be avoided in the future.

Leave it to us humans to turn this beautiful universe into a junkyard...this is why the aliens aren't returning our calls

Except aliens don't exist. Not in the context you are speaking of. However i will explain what i mean. Since Yahweh is real, fallen angels are real and they can and do take the form of extraterrestrials. Fallen angels are highly intelligent. Aliens are supposedly highly intelligent. All "aliens" are actually fallen angels. Not all fallen angels have to appear as aliens..... But all aliens are fallen angels. That's the only way extraterrestrial beings and "intelligence" could exist.

If you take ANY one species, no matter how small, such as a Tse Tse fly, and make it extinct and it in some way or another hurts the economy system. Remove humans, and the planet is IMMEDIATELY better off. That is pretty sad considering we are supposed to be the smartest species on the planet.

There is a very simple solution to space junk😌Use high power lasers to de orbit the stuff. A remote drone controlled from the ground could use solar power to de orbit junk on piece at a time. Hundreds of pieces could be removed every week until the problem is no more😎

All it takes is money and desire. I like the “removal tax”. Sort of like a deposit for trash removal like they charge climbers on Everest now. An entity would have to finance the removal of their debris on the front end. Unfortunately there is no controlling authority and, like the Everest program, it takes cooperation and compliance. It’s just not going to happen until there is so much junk that there is a financial incentive to fix the debris issue. Only then will it be fixed. It’s not the technology, it’s the desire to pay that is missing from the equation.

Big objects, yes. Tiny small debris like screws, paint and small metal junks? Not easy. The danger isn't the big stuff. It's the tiny things too small to even detect.

A thought on how it could (the junk) cleaned up, is to build a ionization machine that will pull any type of matter and have one by one this junk stirred into the direction of the ocean area that is safe for it to be there.

Channel content is really great. However, Welt team must ensure the voiceover man is not speaking over the main host or if the main host's voice is reduced a little in order to have the English voice-over person heard clearly that would be truly helpful. Else it's irritating when two talk in different languages while the content is worth a watch.

Just curious, Does anyone know why the spacefaring countries wont get together to have the major debris taken down. Both the US and Russia have shuttles that could be used for that purpose. It's actually in their interest to get rid of them

With the advances in remote construction equipment and robotics its possible to build a moon base send your small nuclear powered power plants, and start manufacturing, Get your base up and running and have your rail and laser cannons, within ten years, with these cannons and precise targeting, they can take out space junk, dead satellites and enemy satellites if needed, pushing such objects to burn up in the atmosphere.

It costs money to collect that data pal. Try getting yourself the equipment and manpower you need, and start looking at all the free information yourself.
