“The planet is so huge that moving 40 kilometers didn’t change its apparent size.” I get the impression that soviet vastly underestimates the the sheer size and scope of celestial bodies.

So a quick buyers-beware for those possibly tempted to pickup Space Engineers. It absorbing, has a lot of potential and the single-player sandbox is pretty solid. But the multiplayer is quite unstable. Rubber banding, server crashes, and losing the ship you've spent several hours building to a sudden clipping with the terrain can be fairly frequent occurrences. Almost always leading to a rage-quit. Ye be warned!

Please note, that in space engineers you cannot warp in gravity, or anywhere into a planet, so if you do try to warp into a planet... it just warps you to the other side. So really the only true way to figure out who has worse aim is for ZF to play hand simulator. That or they just try warping into someone's space station.

Here we're discovering that 40k means nothing in infinite mode, with planets. A jump drive is now more or less a requirement for travel.

it actually has little to do with no man's sky. The only thing they have in common is space. The goal of space engineers is to build ships, vehicles, stations, machines etc to either survive or achieve survival goals (survival mode) or simply because you want to (creative) The universe size is a lot more smaller, with the planets being 2000 km away from each other, and they can only be up to 120km in diameter, but this doesnt matter, because the game isnt concentrated in you just going around. The good things about this game: you can build whatever you want, using mods is super easy, each thursday there is an update and sharing and using others players ships is as easy as with mods. Just one warning: rotors and pistons=EVIL DEAD NONONONONONO

Black-Op345Gaming Yep. The standard planets can vary from 10 to 120km in diameter, and they are usually 2000-3000km away from each other. You could put them farther in creative, but then it would be impossible to see them and travel in their direction. But honestly, it doesn't matter a lot. 120km in radius is actually a really big thing. And since you use a jump drive between planets, the distance doesn't really matter. Unless you are crazy, and make a ship as big as a planet, which is in theory possible but it would probably require all NASA computers to run. Also the biggest bullshit physics of this game are the gravity generators, the mass blocks and, of course, the 107~m/s speed limit.

+ azur komay Not yet I'm afraid. It's all still manually done. I did some experimentation with After Effects. But the auto-tracking was really made for stabilization. And not the range of motion that I tend to use. Also it requires a clear point of contrast, which often isn't available if a character is moving around, spinning, flying further away from the camera and infront of other objects, etc. Some have recommended I try Adobe Premiere. But I need to take a few weeks of self training on it. Will need to fit that in somewhere.

SovietWomble Ahh, good luck on premiere then!! I believe you may have used the other tracker that comes in a separate box. The motion tracker is very useful (the one in effect controls) compared to the separate box one (I forgot the names and I can't be bothered opening AE)

+Galdrus Lock you build crafts (ships, cars, vehicles, stations, satelites) using the blocks of the game, either just for fun (creative) or to survive and expand (survival) in which you will have to gather resources. There is no real objective, its just a sandbox. It has a good developer team who upgrades the game every week and that sometimes even includes popular mods in the vanilla game. The players can share and use others ships very easily through the workshop, and there are hundreds of mods to cover all your non vanilla needs.
