It's extremely fascinating to me that so many large quadrupedal terrestrial dinosaurs had beak-like snouts and jaws when today it is almost exclusively a trait of birds

I find it strange that you find this strange. Type "herbivorous birds" in Google if you needsome reminders of how many there are. Folivores, granivores, sapsuckers, nectarivores...

I knew Stan Krzyzanowski. He was a regular customer at the cactus nursery where I worked. I still remember him being so excited to tell me that a dinosaur was to be named for him, which was in like 2007 or 2008, which really goes to show you how long it took to actually publish the paper

It's amazing that we're still discovering so many new fossil species even to this day.

These discoveries are giving us more interesting characteristics of this dinosaur clade and they are fun ones.

So many more species than I even realised.. I only remember Psittacosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Centroceratops, Triceratops, Chasmosaurus, Protoceratops and a handful of others..

Last time i checked, they were about 50 ceratopsian species. Those critters were highly succesful

@@chubibi06 goes to show how far paleontology has advanced, not just in terms of the tech used but also the brand new finds and change of old views on well-known beasts like the raptors and tyrannosaurids

if they leave lived in very warm areas and they may have been used to cool off the body along with the frill flooding heat into the frill and heat into the nose would help cool off the head very quickly and that would circulate the blood cooler blood into the body in thus cool let off Or it could be there to trap moisture if the area was a dryer arid area like the desert SW is today there may have been areas where it was still dry back to then which would help keep the moisture in and hold the moisture in the body instead of letting it go into the air presumably to cool off the body or so on and so forth.

I couldn't quite make out the name of the one with the crossed brow horns. Can anyone enlighten me?

I just want to pat it on its nose :)
