I love how Timmy AND Jimmy, the 2 handicapped kids, were supposed to be one-offs.

I love how Kenny serves as this metaphor for how the poor live. They're constantly dying tragic deaths and no one cares

It's OK, Big Gay Al is one of the most decent and sane characters in the town. Campy, true, but he cares about the kids as a scout leader. 😊

I love how the characters that you expect to be extreme are the most tame. Big Gay Al is one of them. Totally cool character but instantly suspect as hell 😂

Big Gay Al is a pretty awesome OG character tbh.. not only does this ep show what a loyal, accomplished, and honorable Mountain Scout he is- but he's also depicted as a gracious and open-minded minority in SP that never really hates on anyone who doesn't understand his life

This is one of the rare times where a South Park character was aware of bizarre circumstances of Kenny's death and it's even more hilarious he tried to use it on someone else 😁

The scary part scout master Grazier was actually based off an actual person

the entire fight is based off of a 1980s Rowdy Roddy Piper movie called "they live" and they did a near perfect job of replicating it.

I was a Boy Scout. There are always more than one adult present at meetings. Youth protection is first and foremost in Scouting. Also, there are no Boy Scout cookies. That's just Girl Scouts. By the way, since this episode came out, they now allow gays in Boy Scouts as well as girls.

They never showed Father Maxie being gay. That line about him being gay was the only time they ever hinted at that.

The fight in this episode was a copy of one of the best movie fight scenes, the fight from John Carpenter's They Live staring Rowdy Roddy Piper. If you haven't seen it, it's worth the watch.

That Scout Master deserves to get arrested for child molestation.

One of the areas the South Park team has really broken new ground is their representation of disabled people. They basically allow them full autonomy to be their own individuals with all the same talents and flaws of anyone. You should peek at How's Your News - the creators of South Park helped fund/produce some developmentally disabled reporters TV show and it's both hilarious and awesome.

This episode is exactly what happened to my friends in real life when I was in first grade 😂

IIRC, this episode was the original introduction for Jimmy, which is why Timmy isn't on board with him (yet, they become best friends later). also, IF i didn't know the scout leader, i might be hesitant, but i know Big Gay Al so i would be totally okay with him being a scout leader because i know he is responsible and respectful of other people.

That's correct, also fun fact but Jimmy was originally intended to be a one-and-done character, hence why they sort of wrote him off at the end however do to such positive feedback from fans they decided to upgrade him into one of the major side characters.

However in TFBW since Timmy’s OP psychic powers allow him to telepathically talk we get to see a bit more of his personality. It’s a shame we don’t see much of him in the game or even get to use him in battle, but at least he had a major roll in the dlc
