I just saw this commercial and cried. I grew up learning sign language in church and definitely have a special place in my heart for the deaf community. This meant so much to me. Congratulations on something so special and spectacular! Thank you AT&T for the innovation!🤟

This commercial is so dumb. Being deaf doesn’t make you stupid. Turn to the left just like every other QB that can’t hear over the crowd……so now being deaf gives you an advantage? Cool, I’m going to make a whole team full of def kids and give them these helmets. Boom, no more crowd 🙄

My Daughter's College Softball Team played Gallaudet @ Gallaudet. The entire experience was surreal. From the time we drove on campus, and throughout the game, played in quiet except for city sounds, it was truly eye opening.

❤Awe great commercial my son attended Indiana School for the Deaf and he played football and basketball. I loved watching him play. So interesting how the coach not just signed but got players attention. People forget they are just like any other football player they just hear. They love game and if nothing else more lean tuned in to every moment. Awesome watching my son and his team mates play.

I've had a curiosity about ASL since my sophomore year in high school when our new English teacher had us learn enough to do a short report in ASL in from of the class. When I was student teaching in college, the 3rd grade teacher I was paired with tasked me with instructing the class on a new subject and I taught them the signed alphabet. It was super cool to see these kids, some of whom are ESL learners, pick it up. We then had a short word spelling bee using only the signed spelling.

This commercial moved me! The tech inspired me, the people that have access to it scared me! I can see a hacker, teammates or crooked coaches giving the password or access to competitors and then benefitting in some way all for the sake of a win. Far stretch, I know but anymore, you never know.

I used to love this old Simon and Garfunkel song!! Too bad it doesn't remotely relate to the commercial message. I really hate when commercials twist the meaning of an old song, taking lyrics completely out of context with the song. This was a very meaningful song that really spoke to the time that it was created. It actually pisses me off when I see the commercial. Spoiler alert, the song has nothing to do with actual deafness. It was a very powerful song written n 1964. In the commercial they skip the 5th and 6th line, which would make it out of context with the commercial Lyrics Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never share No one dared Disturb the sound of silence "Fools" said I, "You do not know Silence like a cancer grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach you" But my words like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming And the sign said, "The words of the prophets Are written on the subway walls And tenement halls And whispered in the sounds of silence"

@carolpadden497 let's say the QB isn't deaf and the coach yells at him to call an audible. Wouldn't yelling also draw attention from the opponents? Don't get me wrong this this looks like an awesome product and I understand the PR angle. But just seems like the more cost effective ways

@@jonahlemley5243I wouldn't say there was a need. In fact Deaf teams have been beating hearing teams at all kinds of sports for forever without any fancy technology. Also the football huddle was actually invented at Gallaudet. This commercial makes it look like "Oh poor deaf people, they were so disadvantaged before our wonderful technology" but in reality they were doing just fine. ~:~
