Hi Asta, It's about average for sound. My microphone is extra sensitive so it sounds a little louder on camera. The occasional tapping sound is the belt. Of the dozen belts that fit this machine, that I tried on it, it likes this universal rubber belt best. The original composition belt is in good shape and it works fine, but with this belt it has a bit more speed and power. I'll include the original belt with the machine, in case you need to replace this one someday.
